After all the countless romance threads and characters threads I thought maybe this would make for a nice change

We will finally be given the opportunity to play as a Qunari so some questions for you folks:

Who here will definitely be rolling a Qunari Inquisitor? Why? Do you think/hope that we can follow and support the Qun?
What kind of Qunari will you play, a typical stoic and serious one or rather an atypical Iron Bull like Qunari?

We know that the Qunari Inquisitor is a mercenary but why did you join?

I'll definitely be making a Qunari Inquisitor, since the Qunari are the one non human race in Thedas that I'm actually intrigued by. My first Qunari will be the typical stoic one when dealing with official matters, but will galdly crack a joke or two and show a more softer side when the situation calls for it. She'll also be interested in discovering more about her heritage and will try to follow/support Qunari beliefs and customs as much as her position will allow.

Her reason for joining the mercenary company is that, as a Qunari, she isn't exactly welcomed with open arms by the human population which somewhat limited her career options. In the end, mercenary work was readily available and she does enjoy cracking a few heads every now and then.

ha! that's an interesting one

Qunari will definetely be my 1st char. why? because it's unique race to fantasy setting (pretty exotic for DA too) and i expect it to be treated as such not only by lore but by the game as well (dialogue options, choices and all that). i hope PC can voice some opinions about the Qun and can choose to follow it or not. i'm going to roll a female mage, hoping to RP a servant willing to fulfill it's well-defined role: a mercenary. i'd love to embrace Qun at some point (perhaps after interacting with Qun followers, learning about it). much more stoic and less fun than IB most likely.

i don't think it will be possible, but we'll see

I am definitely looking to roll a Qunari Male Mage Inquisitor when I am done with my canon Inquisitor.

My Inquisitor is not and will not be associated with that blighted oppressive filthy cult known as the Qun.

Most likely I will base him off my Skyrim Orc Battlemage Dovahkiin. Which means the Vashoth Inquisitor will be a Heavy Armor Knight Enchanter. Because "No One Bests A Qunari !" I would love that to be his battlecry.

As for his personality, he likes reading books and drinking delicious wine. Cultured, classy, knowledgable and dangerous on the battlefield.

Speaking of Elder Scrolls Orsimer, it would have been nice to have some Theodosian version of the Berserk racial ability for the Kossith / Qunari / Vashoth as opposed to just +50 health.

Rolling a Qunari warrior simply because I get to finally be a giant armored juggernaut. Plus I intend for him to be an avatar of Khorne.
In short: "Blood for Blood God let Thedas burn!

Two Adaars planned by me

The first one (main) is a warrior/or/rogue tal-vashoth at heart, was brought up to hate the Qun and became an Andraste follower (kind of fanatical), thickheaded, stubborn, impulsive but thinks he is sooo smooth when it comes to flirting. Welp, I guess Cassandra will demonstrate if he's as interesting as he thinks he is :P

The second one is more of a vashoth rogue/warrior. She doesn't hate the qun and is actually really interested in her homeland. Quite quirky, cute, friendly and a tad lazy. Falls for the Iron Bull and, as I suspect, will get along with him just fine

Note sure if there is a bigger thread i missed for Qunari supporters, but this will have to do for now.

Shok ebasit hissra. Meraad astaarit, meraad itwasit, aban aqun. Maraas shokra. Anaan esaam Qun.

Despite the lack of customization options for Qunari Inquisitor, i like them. The race itself is very interesting, the Qun is fascinating and i like that any race can be accepted if they convert to the Qun. Humans running Thedas hasn't worked well. If Elves took over and changed roles it still wouldn't work well, same with dwarves. However if the Qunari took over and converted all to the Qun, Thedas would see a golden age not even imaginable at the moment. It would be a well oiled machine working towards progress, it's astounding to think of the possibilities.

Qunari master race.

I'm loving my qunari Inquisitors.  I created three:  one from each class.  I'll definitely play the warrior and the mage.  Not sure if I'll play the rogue, since I tend to usually only get one playthrough with a female and I've got a lady Cadash who I kind of love.

Talan Adaar, two handed warrior.  He's my 'main' right now.  I'm about 55 hours into the game with him and love it:

Meraad Adaar, ranged rogue.

Kost Adaar, my mage.

I played as a female qunari mage, I wanted to be a qunari that followed the Qun and romance Iron Bull with. I was really hoping he'd pull some of that qun language on her :P. I went with as many qunari special choices as possible even my skyhold was decked out with Qunari symbol. I really enjoyed their talk about dragons and their horns I thought that was neat. But I felt his romance was seriously lacking. No banter about them or anything and after beating the campaign I was hoping for my inquisitor and Bull to have a moment or something but it was as if I romanced no one, eh oh well. Also I felt like I made quite a few mistakes in dialogue choice, I was trying hard to stay in character "what would a qunari do?" I pissed alot of ppl off. Sera and Solas actually screamed at me and about half way thru the story I started getting Bulls dissapproval too. But overall I really enjoyed playing as a qunari mage and now that I just started a new one as an elf, I feel incredibly tiny lol.

Loved playing my huge charcoal badass with horns ^^

I like how there's more mention of your race in this one, hell even Sera mentioned having the hots for my height when I romanced her, that was a really appreciated detail I wasn't expecting

Was hilarious at the ball too, orlesians were all like "the Inquisitor is a walking ox ? Preposterous !" and then I dance with the Duchess (dafuq she learned to dance escapes me though) and get praised by the Empress and they all shut up and kiss my feet. Funny how they work huh ? <insert Sera's swear rant here>

I can appreciate the female Qunari at least. They come off both strong and intelligent. Males just remind me of gorillas and Brock Lesnar. They looked sleeker in DA2.

Good point.

I would have preferred a female Qunari companion like that personally. I imagine someone like Samara. But then, not sure what they'd be doing in Ferelden... unless they were a merc (but that takes out the whole Tamasaran thing).

Welp, this thread is super dead but I couldn't think of anywhere better to ask this question. Based on what we know of Tal-Vashoth and Vashoth mages, how do you decide your Qunquisitor's stance on magic, the nature of the Fade, spirits, etc.?

There's a snippet that says Adaar's parents found you a Tal-Vashoth saarebas to teach you the ropes. Vivienne says they commonly treat their mages just like the Qunari do (leashes, sewn lips, the whole bit), but obviously Adaar has either never been treated thusly or escaped from it (Shokrakar seems to have no problem with you, anyway...). And with all the different cultural perspectives on spirits and possession - just look at the varying viewpoints of the Avvar, the Chantry, the Dalish - how do you decide how your Adaar feels about it all? What attitudes have they absorbed?

It depends. Whenever I RP characters in Dragon Age, I create backstories for them, so I think it depends on the player's own reservations re: the politics of the situation. I like the Qunari mage given how much both are currently disliked in public, although lore favors Elves.

I'm trying to get in my Adaar's head. The Qun has a Just Say No policy towards demons, and even the decidedly non-magey Sten recognizes demonic illusions when he sees them ("it is a dream, but it is a good dream")... so I wonder if some of that attitude carries over to the Tal-Vashoth.

Maybe she sought training with an augur or something LOL.

IIRC, the Tal-Vashoth don't do that immediately, only if a mage happens to be unable to handle the dangers of magic.

That sounds right. I still wonder how they view the Fade, spirits, etc... I guess it depends if they've spent most of their time among humans, or sequestered in a Vashoth village somewhere. What kind of teaching they received and who from.

Probably it's like the Chantry's teachings, except stripped of religious connotations; much of the essence would likely be similar, though.

I have just realized the most glorious part of playing a qunari: you're so tall that when you run your horns hit low-hanging light fixtures and make ADORABLE LITTLE *BONK* NOISES.
