I'm looking to get into some of the books to hold me off until Inquisition. Any recommended books or comics?

If you only want to read one/a couple, then I recommend reading Asunder and The Masked Empire. They are the ones that talk about events that happened between DA2 and DAI and are currently the most relevant.

This.

If you have a Kindle, I believe you can purchase both for about 15 bucks.

I have The Last Flight coming in about 2 weeks...really looking forward to that, and learning some old Grey Warden dirt!

I'll third the bit about Asunder and Masked Empire -- especially if you're specifically looking for something that helps set the stage up for Inquisition. If you're looking more to explore the Dragon Age setting then there's World of Thedas

I haven't read the comics yet, but I definitely want to! They have some returning companions featured in the story, and I do know that there's some personal backstory revealed for both Varric and Isabella as they accompany King Alistair. And the settings include some parts of Thedas that the games haven't visited yet, like Antiva. If you're interested in reading up on some old companions (especially Varric, since he'll be a companion in Inquisition as well) then it seems worth it to give the comics a shot.

The novels are great.
The masked empire and asunder are easily my favourite books.

The dark horse dragon age comics are great too. I really enjoyed them

Also, from what I recall read Masked Empire first, then Asunder.

Stolen Throne will give you some background on Ferelden/Orlais relations and such.

Asunder will give you the background on where we stand mages/templars

Masked Empire will give you a lot of insight into the situation in Orlais with some smattering of new info on elves.

The Calling will give you background on the grey wardens and some background on the Architect who may be in DAI.

The comics are negligible.  The ones with Allistair and company are entertaining but negligible on actual info relating to the games.  The origins comics are kinda meh.  They definitely don't fit with a lot of the stuff in the world now.

World of Thedas is awesome if you like lore.

I would read Asunder before Masked Empire, while chronologically ME takes place first, Asunder will give you a better understanding of mage/templar situation.
