Well, there's a function called SetStoreGold() that would do it, but it would need to be put into a script that could be run in your game, and you'd need to know the tag of the store.

Or, thinking of it, as long as the store object is present near the shopkeeper, as they usually are in the official campaigns, the script could just get the nearest store object, and you wouldn't need to know the tag.

Such a script could also loop through all store objects in the module the player is currently in, and replenish their gold supplies all at once (perhaps by random amounts each). Some sort of 'Wand of the Leprichaun' item (with an appropriate rainbow visual effect) with a tag-based activation script in the override folder would seem to be in order.

Or you could just console in all the gold you needed, and throw unwanted items away. If there's no GiveGold cheat code, then you could spawn as much of nw_it_gold001 as you wanted using the GiveItem cheat code. A simple cheat from the console is no different than a hugely complex cheat via a scripted item.

I have same problem. I don't want to drop things, I sell all I could sell so I free my inventory. I hated when I had to drop some traps in nwn1 because I didn't have enough points in strength.

So dropping items and giving money through console isn't solution for me. I believe it's same for OP.

pretty much what Naeryna said. also i want to get full value for some of the big ticket items in the game. id prefer the natural buy/ sell, but Danny's way would work in a pinch. i'll continue to search options. Thank you all

Getting full value is a different question, because it's not determined by how much gold a store has.  There's another setting that controls the maximum price they'll pay for anything.

^Yep. If you want full value get lots of bags of holding and don't sell unless you're not hitting the shop limit (20K excepted). Don't forget you get more money with a higher appraise. Doing that (and good keep management) gives you more money than you'll ever need.

There are more than enough merchants to max out your gold through out the official campaign.

Split your selling.

Off the top of my head:

1) Sand best bet in early Neverwinter. The armor merchant in the docks and the little Gnome lass in the north docks as well.

2) Magic merchant in Blakelake. Nia the quest giver in Luskan.

By chapter 3 you should be awash in so much gold you can afford all the Crossroad keep upgrades and have some change in your pocket.

Gold scarcity is "concept of the game to manage".

However investigate crafting. Ensure you (or your companions Elanee, Sand, Z ) take craft magic arms and craft wondrous items feat. What you can create at the Blacksmith / Magicians work bench will far exceed whatever you can buy in the campaign. Rings, Belts, Bracers, Amulets, weapons, armor in particular. Frankly there is nothing to be "bought" in the game that you cannot better through crafting. Things you do buy will quickly be stripped of their value to the game as you progress levels and your enemies become immune to the "lower power" of bought items.

All good answers.  You should never really be short of gold in the OC.  And not only does crafting allow you spend your gold on more strategic issues, it also allows you to customize your character's gear to your style of play.
