Yeah, though it only occurs if you romance him unfortunately. I wish he would do it if you were a good friend as well.

 

As for the Vallaslin true meaning, I have to admit I laughed when I heard it. It is just so ironic, both ingame and metagaming-wise.

I don't mind the tattoos.  But I can't bring myself to play a Dalish elf that sounds like a shem.  It is just too immersion breaking for me.

We're not allowed to learn which elven deity is represented by which tattoo design?

 

 

 

 

While I'm all for the Dalish Inquisitor having a blood writing face tattoo, or vallaslin, since it's part of the lore for all Dalish to receive such a design as a rite of passage (and the Inquisitor is hardly a piddling teenager), I don't understand why we won't get a chance to learn which vallaslin design represents which elven god. Since it's part of the lore for Dalish to receive the vallaslin as a rite of passage no matter what, shouldn't we also be able to learn which design represents which deity so we can better understand the in-game lore, make a more informed choice, and just improve character and roleplay investment overall?

 

It just seems very odd to me to require vallaslin design, each design of which represents an elven deity, but then not reveal which design represents which deity. 

 

That would be work on their part.

Just started an Elf character. I gave her very pale skin, I think the 2nd one along, then made the tattoo as faint as possible and just changed the colour to white, makes it practically invisible. I can't ever see it any time I see her face anyway.

So, can someone with Twitter get a follow up on the chart? They said they made one so I figure if we keep pestering them we'll get a real answer eventually. I'm fine with the tattoos being mandatory for lore sense (even though I wish there was a city elf option) but since they're focused on the lore we should know what the dalish believe they mean.

I did this too. Then romanced Solas... made the last scene pretty amusing when he moves his hands and she was exactly the same.
