Hey, I have a question, can somebody deliver please?

I am going to do yet another ME playthrough, and I have a question: When it is considered that I officially completed romance subplot/got Paramour achievement? - I don't want to romance anybody, I don't wanna to get woohoo scene, but I still want to talk to all characters normally. So when I should stop talking to them to avoid romance going with certain npc? After second main story planet?

Even if I somehow manage to get romance going, will saying NO to Liara/Ashley when she is in my room at the end of the game still be considered as completed romance subplot?

Just turn them down when they ask if you are intrested in them. They dont get to upset with it iver.

Typically, it's when you "do the deed" that you get the achievement. Usually right when you pick the "let's do it" option

I would also like to know this. I refused to have sex with Liara before Ilos because I hoped it would end the relationship so I wouldn't have to cheat on her with Garrus in ME2. I'm not sure if the relationship technically ended, though.

I'm wondering this as well. I managed to unintentionally get my MShep in a romance with Liara, I have no idea how, as when she asked if I had feelings for her I clearly said no and yet for some reason the romance flag was activated. It was unfortunately towards the end of the game where much to my horror I became aware of it, and didn't seem to have an option to talk to her and end it.



It's incredibly stupid that I can't simply talk to some of my companions without suddenly being engaged in a romance with them and unable to opt out of it, ME2 better not be this stupid.

I also had a problem with the romance option. On my male Shepard I started a conversation with Garrus after finishing Virmire. After a few seemingly normal dialogue choices, Garrus brought me into the mako and raped me. After that I couldn't even choose him as a squad member for future missions. I hope to God ME2 doesn't have anything like this, because I had used Garrus in my squad since I first got him but after the rape scene I couldn't get the achievement for 75% completion with him.

The videos where Shepard turns them away just before Ilos seem to suggest that the romance is still on, just not consumated at that point. So, I'd go with making sure hte relationship doesn't get to that point.

How I manage with Kaiden and Liara is telling Liara she has no business poking into my personal affairs, and, in the very first long conversation [with Kaiden] about BaAT, I tell him he talks too much. It might be the same with Ashley, choosing the Renegade option at the end of the conversation.

What you could also do is talk to Ashley first, tell her she has no business knowing your personal life, and then turn around and talk to Liara and tell her the same thing. This also worked for me with Kaiden and Liara.

I did the same and I felt bad for it. I don't know if there's another way to deter him from pursuing a relationship but if there isn't, I wish there was!
