In truth, not that much. You're playing a character in another country than DAO took place in, so seemingly big options in DAO are not going to have that much impact on DA2, other than a few cameos from the old game and maybe some changes in dialog.

You can play an imported game and a non imported game and the main story will pretty much be the same. The difference will mostly be in the side quests, since some characters can be killed or saved in DAO. The only quests you cannot get in DA2 pre-created histories are Terror on the Coast and Dark Ephiphany.

Importing from DAO mostly gives you a sense of belonging over the overarching story. That big hero that defeated the blight was your hero, hey I remember you from that quest and oh, so that's what happened after that quest. Also it adds a bit of consistency to the story in terms of former companions and such.

Krypplingz is right. There isn't a lot that from DAO/DAA that directly impacts DA2, and what there is, is mostly available in some combination in the three pre-built world states.

Here are the things that I can recall from DAO/DAA that "directly" impact DA2's storyline:

1) Alistair will show up in some form (King, Warden, Drunk), assuming you didn't have him killed. Both the King and Drunk scenarios are available in the available world states; however, if you want to see Warden Alistair, you have to import a world from DAO yourself where he stayed a Warden and Anora became queen. Warden Alistair is not available in one of the pre-built world states. Also, to get the reference to a Warden Queen from Alistair, you must import from DAO.

2) Zevran will show up in Act 3 in a quest, assuming he wasn't killed in DAO. I believe this quest is available in some of the pre-built world states, but not in all of them.

3) Nathaniel Howe will show up in Act 3 in a quest; however, if he is imported from DAA, he must be in the final party that defeats the Mother. Otherwise, you will get a different quest in Act 2 that doesn't involve him. I believe Nathaniel's quest is available in some of the pre-built world states, but not in all of them.

4) If you shared the Sacred Ashes with the world, you'll get a small quest in Act 1.

5) You will get a quest in Act 1 depending on whether you saved Amaranthine or Vigil's Keep in DAA (different quest for each).

6) If you put Bhelen on Orzammar's throne instead of Harrowmont, you will get a small quest in Act 1.

7) If you sided with the werewolves, you will get a small quest in the Dalish Camp in Act 1.

8) If you broke the werewolves' curse, you will have a small encounter on the Wounded Coast in Act 1 with Danyla's/Athras' daughter and one of the former werewolves.

9) As Krypplingz said, you can only get the two quests associated with Warden's Keep if you import a Warden. "Terror on the Coast" is if you sided with Sophia, while "Dark Epiphany" is if you sided with Avernus and allowed him to ethically continue his research.

Those are the big things I remember, but most of the choices are available from the pre-built world states. However, the best way to experience DA2, in my opinion, is with an imported Warden. It makes things so much more personal. Plus, if you import a Warden that went through DAA, you will have more insight into the Anders/Justice thing.
