Hope this is an appropriate place to start this topic.

Just curious about preferences for those of you who play/have played as an infiltrator (Single Player)

What is your favorite armor?

What is your favorite sniper rifle?

What mods do you use for the sniper rifle?

What do you use as your second weapon & what mods do you use with it?

Mine:

Hahne-Kedar armor and Kuwashii Visor

Black Widow with Concentration Mod and Enhanced Scope (sometimes thermal scope)

Phalanx Pistol with Scope and High Caliber Barrel (sometimes Pistol Cranial Trauma System)

Armor: Hadne-Kedar if I want weapon damage, Serrice Council if I want power damage

Sniper Rifle: Wait... the infiltrator can snipe? (I prefer shotguns.) I have rarely used sniper rifles on the Infiltrator. When I did, I used the Javelin briefly for one-shot kills on shielded enemies, Kishock briefly for one-shot kills on shielded enemies, and the Viper for one-shot freeze with Cryo Ammo. I think I actually prefer the Viper. Mods vary depending on the weapon used. Javelin/Kishock I used the spare thermal clip mod I think. Viper does not really matter. I only use it to freeze in one shot, then kill with Incinerate.

I do not use second weapons on the Infiltrator. I rarely use more than one weapon on any class in single player. No real point.

Shotgun, interesting. I hardly ever use shotguns, but I suppose when I attempt a vanguard insanity run I'll use one. I always bring a pistol when I play infiltrator for enemies up close. I know I have powers, but I like to mix it up with shooting. I could see not needing a second weapon for an adept, but I just feel better having a second weapon with the other classes. I know this is an infiltrator thread I started, but since you like shotguns, what would be a good one to use as a vanguard?

Armor (mostly for looks): Kassa Fabrication chest and legs + N7 arms + Hahne-Kedar shoulders + Kuwashii Visor

Sniper Rifle and Mods: M-92 Mantis + Extended Barrel + Spare Thermal Clip (switched that to Armor Piercing for Priority: Earth)

Sidearm + Mods: M-12 Locust + Magazine Upgrade + Heat Sink

On New Game Plus I ditched the sidearm. Mantis X is a beast with a lot of ammo, huge damage and very low weight :)

Armor: Full Armax Arsenal + Delumcore Overlay.
Weapons: Avenger, Viper, Phalanx
On a NG+ : Revenant (Barrel+Piercing), Viper(Concentration+Piercing), Phalanx (Barrel+Piercing)
Tint: Color scheme matches the Assault Rifle - I.e. Red or more greys and whites.

I use an Assault Rifle because every class should. He's an Exfiltrator, not only adept at getting in, but getting out. I take Fortification so he operates more like a Sentinel or Soldier who can cloak. It's great for flanking and a lot more forgiving to use an automatic weapon.

Claymore, Wraith, Reegar (DLC), Piranha (DLC) are good shotguns. Talon pistol is great shotgun substitute.

With the Vanguard, just about any shotgun is good since you have Incendiary Ammo with rank 6 Explosive Burst.

Armax Arsenal/Hahne-Kedar everything with a Kuwashii visor

M-13 Raptor with HVB and concentration mod or scope depending on enemy.
Hornet with a power magnifier and ULM as a backup in case I feel like changing it up and playing as a caster.

This setup maintains a 200% power recharge speed (not that this is all that important with infiltrators), and the Raptor can one shot unshielded mooks with the two cloak damage bonuses and a headshot while maintaining good sustained DPS against boss units. I rarely have to reload during fights with 4-5 mooks because energy drain> headshot will kill the shielded ones as well and I have 15 rounds

Your setup is probably the most effective sniper infiltrator but I get bored with the Black Widow and prefer the Javelin if I want a single shot gun. Same setup as above but replace the Raptor with Javelin and use AP ammo as your bonus power so you can shoot through ridiculous amounts of cover.

I have used the raptor on occassion as a soldier (it sort of doubles as a sniper/AR IMO). I will definitely try it with an HVB as an infiltrator. Unfortunately, I do not like the Javelin at all. I wish I did since it's so popular, but I seem to have a little trouble with charged weapons (except Scorpion pistol). I have missed my target a few times using the Javelin when the enemy moved just as I finished the charge. I'm sure if I practiced with it ,ore, I could get the hang of it.

Thanks. I have all the DLC. If I remember correctly, the Piranha was pretty easy for me to work with (when I tested it at the range); that might be the way for me to go on my first run with a Shotgun since I don't have much experience with them.

If you want to use the Javelin but are having trouble maintaining accuracy with the charge delay, just hotkey sabotage. Cloak>sabotage>shoot. Sabotage will stagger the target and make for an easy headshot, and you still get the cloak damage bonus provided you don't take too long to shoot. Energy drain as a bonus power works nearly as well, with the added bonus of removing shields immediately rather than sabotage's 1.5 second delay.

Armor:  Rosenkov Chest/Legs; Armax Shoulders; Kuwashii and/or Recon Head

I use this setup because it's functional and it provides me with bonuses I want.  Plus... it loots rad... which is actually the only real reason I wear it lol.

Weapons:

Sniper Rifle:  Viper - improved barrel, scope

Shotgun:  Crusader - armor piercing, heavy barrel

SMG:  Tempest - weight reduction, extended clip

I like being more mobile and being able to pop shots off whenever I want, and the Viper is really the only Sniper Rifle that lets me do this to the degree that I want it to.  I don't really go for the heavier rifles.  I switch out between Ice and Disruptor ammo on this.  This is my primary weapon, and I pretty much kill 90% of the mission enemies with it.  I don't use the time compensator mod.  I don't really need it, plus it's just kind of annoying with a semi-auto gun.  I did use the Indra for a while, and I liked it a lot.  But this one suits my style a little better.

The Crusader was a late addition because I really needed a heavy hitting weapon for armor piercing, but I didn't want to have to sacrifice my position.  The heavier options to way more damage, but they also blow my weight threshold.  This really was the only solution, unless I wanted to get the Graal... which I tried... and hated.  This Crusader is pretty badass, though.  It has superior range equal to that of a Sniper Rifle, zero spread for long range, so all your damage is focused into one singular spot, really great damage for its speed with the heavy barrel mod, and pin-point accuracy - it shoots and hits exactly where you point it no matter what.  It's basically a high powered, semi-automatic sniper rifle with a quick reload and fire rate, but doesn't have a scope.  It's perfect for armor piercing.

The Tempest because... it weighs nothing and is the best option in this category if you get rushed.  The Geth SMG is better in stats, but I don't like the charge-up time, plus its still kind of heavy even with reduced weight.  Put Disruptor on this, and you've got a holdout weapon against husks, or generally anything that typically likes to get close to you or has shields or barriers.
