I believe the actual explosion from the drone is capped at 3, but since it will detonate tech combos when it blows up, you got a killstreak off the drone + ensuing tech burst.
Don't quote me on this, though.
TB kills don't register as drone kills though, so you just have to look at the killfeed ![]()
I just checked with phase disruptor, and biotic slash and they both only seem to hit 3 targets...with BS capable of even more maybe with close targetsidk..needs more testing.
Both phase disruptor and nova have a 3 targets cap.

Javelin with max piercing and Drill Rounds III can shoot through all 8 enemies if they are lined up correctly.

I've got a killstreak with a biotic explosion...
The BE itself can only kill 3 enemies, but the powers involved can kill more - so yeah, you can get killstreaks by using a detonator power that kills stuff by itself too.

Like I said, I got a Ks from sabotage, only it took 2 heads to align nicely and the rest got blasted from the sabotaged headless trooper.
But IMO everything should do damage to everything in its radius/wave and it shouldn't go through walls. Well at lest the detonations.

What's the cap on geth heavy melee?
I've been told it's three by a not-so-trustable source (i.e: not corlist/peddro&co), but I'm pretty sure I've gotten killstreaks with it... Although that might be due to the ability to pulse it very fast, I guess.

No, I was actually soloing, but as others have pointed out it was probably the biotic explosion combined with the primer and detonator powers.

There are only 8 enemies at a time. I bet every programmer loathes the idea that a player finds out a way to play the AI and just hunker down and press one button to win the game.
The next game will probably have more than 8 enemies at a time. And probably a higher cap on powers and combos.

One thing I find incredibly retarded is that shockwave for instance has a cap of 2 and to hit the target you need to aim so that the target is directly in the middle of shockwave trajectory. So if you miss by an inch it will miss.
Where both ES and BS has a cap of 3+ (if there's an enemy close to you it will get that initial burst and the rest can still hit 3 targets aaaaand you don't have to aim that precisely.
Aaaand if you cancel it early, right after the initial burst, it doesn't trigger a cool down
