I said she was the least developed romance in ME3. I didn't consider continuations from ME2 as actual ME3 romances.

Liara was a continuation from ME 2 and arguably the best romance in the series. It would be silly to not count her as a romance just because she was in a previous game.

It's odd to me to see people apparently madly in love with characters they've never even had a virtual conversation with yet. I'll be interested to see who I find attractive as I start my second play-through of the game, once I know who all these fictional people are. I have the strong impression that the list at that point will be different than the list I have today.

ME2 Liara was pretty bad until the DLC, I think even the Voice Actor admitted this

Although she was one of the first to be revealed, I'm still excited about the prospect of Cassandra's romance arc. Really looking forward to it. I'm very happy with the list of options, and I'm glad everything is out in the open now. Happy that the female characters I really like (Cass, Jo and Sera) are all potential options. Perhaps I will even persue a Blackwall romance with one of my female characters. I'm actually surprised that he turned out to the 'core' straight male. Good stuff.

Well this sucks, no mage power couple for me then, and no hermit boy doesn't count (unless he ends up being a secret villain, then maybe).

I really hope Jose isn't all sugar and no spice, if not i guess Cass will have to do, maybe she can be the Ser Cauthrien to my Loghain, the Kevan to my Tywin, 'sigh' i really need a counterpart for my Arcturus Mengsk like character.

Anyway congrats to straight Blackwall fans and my condolences to my fellow Viv fans and Blackwall would be male fans, really hope you don't get the Thane treatment.

So for my first playthrough (female elf mage) I have Solas and Sera to choose from (I know there are more, but these are the two I am more interested in XD).

Sera is a much better elf romance than Merrill, she's way more interesting that Merrill.

Cassandra and Varric are both known characters. Cassandra even got her own movie.

As for the new characters, we know what they look like and have a good idea what their personality is like. That's enough to feel attraction or not.

Thanks for the update Mike!

I am so looking forward to meeting all the characters (romanced or not!) and rolling my inquisitors.

Not to mention there's a thing called love at first sight too.

Do you have anything beyond "I don't like it"?

You mean not liking the reduction of lesbians into cheap turn on for men, playing around harmful stereotype that "lesbians need D"?

Well, I'm corrective rape survivor, so I think I have the right to not like it.

I only wish that I could've romanced Solas with a human. But I'm really looking forward to playing as en elf now!

That's very respectful scene from ME3:

*snip*

What's interesting is the fact that they put the resources to make that scene for a man staring at her longer and more steamy than when you get this scene while you romance her.

But I guess lesbians shoudln't be angry about such representation, they're adding lesbians after all! Indeed it's great for lesbians lately, there's even going to be a movie with Al Pacino focused on a lesbian!

http://www.afterelle...-women/08/2014/

I dont see anything wrong with that clip. Thats Traynor being Traynor and Maleshep acting awkwardly. If you're looking for a lesbian in a game that doesnt appeal to straight men at all, you're gonna have a bad time. There could be two lesbian broodmothers in DA3 and some guys will still be into it.

yeah he was in season 1 but he's supposed to be in king's landing by season 4 and didn't show up

I've read the leaks for season 5, seems like they're completely changing the books, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was retconned.

After all, loras is apparently the one male heir to highgarden in the show.

errrrrrr dragon age: cassandra best womyn, hope she can be converted to paganism

Casey Hudson said that there's nothing lesbian in romancing her though...

I'm kind of tired, but I think I can still to addition:

So, male heterosexual PCs, male homosexual PCs and female homosexual PCs get two choices each, but female heterosexual PCs get (up to) four? Odd, but I like the various options well enough, especially considering that the DA team has quite a good track record (as opposed to the ME team) on giving all romances roughly equal amounts of content. Although my male Dalish still weeps over Solas. Alas.

I guess that kind of makes up for BioWare's blunder regarding finished romances in Baldur's Gate II... *shrug*

Even though I am a little disappointed with how this all played out (the distribution of LI's and the way that they were revealed up until now), I do have to take a moment to reel back in my emotion and remember that I am very thankful to Bioware for continuing romances in their games as it's one of the only places where I can see representation in video games.  I'll continue to hold out some hope that in the future, some day, someone will enjoy a game where gay people don't get less options than straight people.  I'm sure it will happen at some point and I'm even pretty confident that Bioware might be the ones to make it happen.

Thanks to the devs for offering this information to us, wading through our emotional posts, and and continuing to be part of the BSN community.

For people complaining about the lack of straight romances on the both sides, why not playing your Inquisitor with the opposite sex and for a straight romance from their own perspective? It would allow you to fall in love with your Inquisitor instead of the romance option.
