But if Traynor had more scenes you'd just complain about those too. Traynor has possibly one of my favorite romance scenes in the game, the bit where she talks about how she wants a house with a picket fence and a dog and whatnot, but I guess that doesnt count as a good scene because she once wore a bra.

Yeah, that scene made Samantha my favorite ME3 romance(Garrus and Tali don't count since they are multigame romances).

Glad it's finally settled. Given that I had will likely have trouble between Sera, Josephine and Cassandra for the characters I play, as I can see things to like about all of them. I feel like I've got plenty of variety for my characters to match up with, which is nice.

Um, I think some people here are taking this "romance gender and sexuality" so called imbalance thing into foreign waters.

We have equal romance in our core party in terms of gender and sexuality (3 males, 3 females and out of all 6: 2 staight, 2 pan or bi depending on what you prefer to identify them as, 2 homosexual) It's as equal as it gets.

As for Cullen and Solas, they appear to be "extras". Also, it's kinda cool that female PC's get a bone thrown here, you don't see it very often and I think it's pretty damn awesome (even if elves got most of the EYYY going on, that's ok, elves have crappy lives in DA-verse, let the women have the option to frick-frack with two extra attractive men at least)

We should be thanking the devs for the extra work that got incorporated into the final product rather than  make wild, irrational and butthurt-ish remarks. Not nice guys.

Straight female PC's don't forget that part.

No, I counted the time. And you can't argue that the meet up on Citadel, which everyone else had, was some "no biggie". It would be the only situation to meet her in more private setting, outside of the ship. Even Steve got it, and it led to some very nice scene.

And interesting is the fact that men had more dialogue time with her, giving more insight into her character, than women who romanced her...

>she had the least amount of scenes

>but I don't count the other romances with fewer scenes because they are continuing from ME2

5 male LIs, 3 of them straight.

*Weeps manly tears of anguish*

Me too, my friend.  The manliest of tears!  We'll get through it, though, and we'll enjoy the hell out of those other two gentlemen!

Fallous: NV? The last of Us? Borderlands? Persona 4? Gone Home?

And Bioware is far form perfect about representation.  There was a game by them that game out two years ago (Theri most expensive game ever made) that had ZERO s/s options.

You mean that game in which anything within it had to be verified to be allowed in it by another company whom had the rights to said franchise? Can't blame Bioware for that one...

...better luck next time  ;)

Straight female PC's don't forget that part.

Well, yes, but it's still extra content. (And if you want to be exact, bi/pan females who want to go for men too, the ones not getting any action from these 2 romances are men and homosexual women)

Baby steps.

Dragon Age 2 also had more romances for straight women

True, but only one.

Looking at ME series, gay males only have 2 options and it wasn't until ME3. Even Kaidan's option gets significantly less scenes and dialogue compared to straight females.

Lesbian options available from the very first game and continue until the 3rd games: Liara, Kelly, various Asari, Snookie, Samantha, Samara,

Don't even have to mention straight males.

Lesbian and straight males have a lot of options in ME series.

I'm going to friendship everyone, then romance everyone, and then probably enemy everyone as well.

Thanks for the post Mike! Can't wait.

Bioware, thanks for making Blackwall a love interest, instead of adhering to ageist tropes that would have seen him become yet another untouchable mentor figure. He is older seeming than is typical for a videogame love interest, and a welcome departure from the "Anyone over the age of ____ is a sagely adviser and no longer capable of romance/adventure/fun" cliche. When I turned 40 (years ago), I did not morph into a sexless dispenser of Yoda-isms, and I know I'm not alone. Older people are still capable of heroism, sex, and reckless stupidity, yet too often we treat people who are over the age of 30 as invisible. Where are the older characters who are emboldened, not neutered, by experience?  Talk about a lack of representation.

I welcome the chance to befriend and possibly romance someone closer to my own age. Thanks again.

Viconia, Jaheria, Bastila, Morrigan, Alistiar, Zevran, and Fenris.

David didn't write Jaheira (Luke or James did).

Jaheira romance is best romance. The only time in his lovemaking career where David didn't win.

Damn.  I just realized how many playthroughs I need to do with all of these romances.

Cass, Dorian, Sera, Solas... be prepared!

Ever?

In order: Viconia, Aerie, Anomen, Aribeth, Aarin Gend, Valen Shadowbreath, Carth Onasi, Bastila, Alistair, Morrigan, Zevran, Fenris... and now Dorian and Cassandra.

Bastila was the first character in a game I actually cared about. Before her, the best a character got was "valued," like a weapon or epic armor. Playing KotOR changed my entire concept of what a game could be, and should be. As I've said before, I "won" KotOR with the line ""After this? No. Nothing could make me feel safer than to be loved by you." Kicking Malak's ass after that was a foregone conclusion.

You changed the way I game, David. Thanks.

(I would give you credit for Morrigan, too, but let's be honest--Claudia Black could read the phone book and I'd fall in love.)

As a person who almost exclusively plays femshep, I dont recall ever being forced to flirt with a man except for that time in ME2 where my character took leave of her senses and forgot Jacob was the most boring man alive and tried flirting with him on her own. When else did this happen?

Let's see, in the Citadel DLC, you will wake up with Javik out of nowhere if you decide to not romance anyone. James Vega's conversation is a bit more flirty with Femshep than MaleShep.

its less flirty and more date-rapey

Had the least development of all ME3 romances and appeared to be more of cheap turn-on for straight guys with all those awful semi-nudity teasing scenes rather than something that was created with lesbian players in mind.

Can you explain what the difference is between a "...cheap turn-on for straight guys..." and "...something that was created with lesbian players in mind."? I don't understand the distinction.

With Vega.

If she had more scenes then I woudln't complain about the fact that she was the least developed.

Let me guess, you're not lesbian, right? And you're not aware about the damaging myths about lesbian sexuality that this kind of portrayal, making the lesbian tease sexually men, reinforces?

Or that the line about house and everything is another lesbian cliche, "lesbian u-haul", especially considering that due to extreme underdevelopment they didn't know each other because they practically didn't talk, though this particular cliche is not that damaging IMO.

its cool you ladies can romance blackwall very cool stuff for you all but what about us guys can we really only romance cassandra and joesphine thats alittle lopsided to say the least i mean i guess its ok considering in the other two games there were only two options and to be honest i will prolly only go cassandra anyway but for the other guys that dont like her or scribes then they are screwed foreal all honestly the could have made viviene a romance and cut solas or iron bull....what makes me over happy is that morrigna and leliana cannot be romanced thank god because i would just feel dirty considering the warden was theirs it would just feel alittle wrong so thank you bioware on that....

I really can't belive this! I mean, I hoped but after Solas was comfired I thought Vivienne was a sure thing! A real shocker that he was core romance for stright female. Thanks Bioware for giving us men with beards and I hope you wont get to much hate.

I'm sorry for all who hoped for Vivienne thought.
