I mean I know I am turned on by a woman in a bra who is talking about the plethora of medicines she takes. Thats about as hot as it gets. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, that tush shot wasn't supposed to be titillating at all. And that's why 95% of comments on YT videos of that scene are about teasing manShep and blue you know what. But I and those male gamers must be wrong then and you're right.

Congrats to the blackwall fans and I'm sorry to the viv fans. I hope everyone has at least one or two romances they can be happy with.

What if Cullen's romance is only possible if the warden is either an elf or a human and activate respectively if the inquisitor of the same race?

This was not specified, so probably not.

A little dissapointed the romances for males. I was hoping romance Sera but again, the same happing with Traynor in ME3, the cute one is lesbian.

meh... Cassandra only romance for me. Really MaleInquisitor need more options.

There's Josie and Cass, so really not much to complain about.

I agree, all at once is much much better.

Analogous to ripping off a band-aid, the faster, the less painful.

Still not really getting the whole "painful" thing. I can't think of a single Inquisitor that won't have interesting romance choices. Upset that your heterosexual female can't romance Freddy Mercury? Well, you get Tom Selleck. I mean, really... the only one of the companions who comes across as creepy is Cole, and he's not even a love interest. The rest of them are pretty bangable.

I pointed out reasons why lesbians, to whom theoretically that romance option was supposed to be catered to, could find it problematic, due to damaging implications that devs were probably not aware of.

First off, have you ever considered Traynor is a character and not a device to cater to sexual desires? Second off, you can find reasons almost anything is problematic. Tali is basically a kid who has been infatuated with Shepard since the beginning. How dare Shepard take advantage of her. What horrible scum. Cortez has just lost his husband and here comes Shepard to take advantage of his emotional state to get in his pants. How dare he!

Hardly - you know Liara from the first game. You talked to Traynor for 2 minutes, had sex, and she talks about house and kids...

I meant ME1 Liara. And yeah, you can have sex with Traynor fairly early on. Some people enjoy having sex and dont need to have a huge relationship behind it to start. This does not diminish the relationship they have.

I'm looking back at Baldurs Gate II and Anomen being only romance option for females. Then I look here and all of the sudden I feel that I'm very happy female gamer. Thank you for all the variety.

I second that! It really feels that we've come a long way and I'm very happy, too, about the variety.

It says it will be story reasons. I'm just guessing, and it would make very good story reason to have Cullen pinning for the girl who got away and chasing her shadow.

OK, keep going on lecturing a lesbian why making the lesbian character tease a man and present her 'attributes' in semi-nudity to him is nothing problematic at all.

What if I started complaining about all the times in the game when male characters were shirtless? Or just the fact that Vega wears a shirt clearly designed for a young girl and doesnt come close to fitting. How titillating!  Games are going to have things to titillate people. This doesnt diminish the characters doing the titillation.

Thanks a lot for this overview, I think it's really appreciated, as some people have planned their romance beforehand and now they can see if it's even possible.

However, not announcing them at all makes a lot sense to me as well. It seems more fun to just play the game, see who you like and then discover if he likes you back. That's how I played previous games and I loved it tbh.

That'd be pretty pathetic actually. And very out of character considering the trauma he suffered at the hands of the demon.

Plus, he's a romance even if you weren't a female mage on DAO. Again, there has been no condition specified. So - highly doubtful.

For me it was more so: one of my best friends Vivian moved across the world this summer, and Vivienne, was something that could remind me of her. Even only if so by name. I developed a connection and an attraction to Vivienne, months before release.

Everyone has their own reason for liking a companion/romance. These aren't just any fixations. They mean something to us.

Hmmm....There is the problem of them not liking your character though for example I always play a corrupt bloodthirsty mage who hates templars in all forms and never uses diplomacy, I feel like I might rub the two romanceable characters the wrong way.

Oh, but Traynor is a device to cater to sexual desires. Of straight men apparently.

And I explained why it's problematic to me. I'm corrective rape survivor. You know what that means? At least respect my right to be angry because of the portrayal of lesbian characters as sexual tease for men.

Can you prove that you talked to Traynor for 2 minutes and then have sex? Did you have a timer by your side?

From my understanding with the T'soni romance in ME1, something I will never do, after about 2 or 3 lines of dialogue, her and Shepard have sex.

gods forbid she be a slight flirt?  Even with people she has no intention of jumping in bed with

OK then. You can tease people without being attracted to them. Some people like to be flirty. Its completely in character for Traynor to be flirty and tease (which I dont really think she does but w/e). If a woman in a hot tub is 'problematic' to you, I'd say it says more about you than anything. We see Liara and Ashley basically completely naked in ME1 but I dont hear you saying anything about that. Must only be demeaning if it happens to lesbians...

I was having a miserable day and this news brightened my day considerably! I'm surprised but pleased by this news. While there is some disappointment (sooo wanted to romance Varric) this is overall great news.

Thank you so much Bioware, for creating a diverse cast of interesting characters and writing them and their romances in a way that is true to the character and story rather than caving to angry demands or trying to be exact and equal. Thank you for creating a diverse range of orientations and not turning bisexuality into a gameplay mechanic but rather a part of the character. It means a lot to me as a bisexual woman whose orientation is often erased in mainstream media and real life.

And thank you so much for all of your hard work. I am beyond excited to meet these characters as romances and as friends. It's reasons like these that make me so grateful that a company like Bioware exists and hires amazing writers such as yourselves.

Is it November yet?  :D

I loved, am loving, the Traynor romance. I've never done a F/F romance before her, and I'm glad I did it. Worth it. Emotionally, anyway.

Aiiiii i was right that cullen would be the second race gated! :D  It wasnt a thought that id stated allowed before as i dont like to presume and i also dont like to crush other's ideas. But to me it makes sense considering his callen oghren a heathen and all the stuff that went down in kirkwall with the qunari. Though i am curious as to why hes ok with a dalish, since tech theyre heathen too, i wonder if he mentions why in game.

I think its good to have all the options clearly stated now, lets those who want to go into media blackout do just that.

Thanks for letting us know :D

While I feel horrible for you and what you went through, I dont see how that relates to Traynor in any way?
