I'm in support of the romances being divided up fairly. But they weren't. And straight men are far from oppressed. In fact, straight men are the ones in charge (at the very top) at Bioware. I bet most of these decisions were made/approved by straight males. You say you're being treated unfairly, but it is the ones who have always been in charge (*your* demographic) that played a part in that. Maybe the issue is that fairness is a foreign concept to those who have been doing things unfairly for so long. If you don't like the way things are going, then it would behoove you to jump on a feminist bandwagon since they *do* strive for equality. As of yet there are little to no feminist groups churning out video games and making millions.Okay. Equality is only okay when it advantages women.
Better?

And again, how is this ridiculous?
If the game gives me the middle finger, right back at them, buddy.
Umm...how is favoring straight ladies considered giving you the middle finger? They made Blackwall and Solas love interests because it fit the characters. They did not add Vivienne because they felt for whatever reason it didn't.
You're getting just as many straight romances as you have in the past two games, and from the things you have said I'm guessing you never pulled a fit when girls get screwed in the romance department. And from what you've said, it seems like it's not the fact that you felt like you got less than you deserved, just the fact that someone got a little extra more than you did.
That's a very negative outlook on life if you can't be happy for someone else just because they have something you don't.
Maybe it's because I'm female and was playing FF7 before I could even read, but I don't think I've ever threatened to not buy a game just because of lack of romance options.
It kind of scares me when I see various posts like this because I feel like it sends a negative message to Bioware that they should just cut the whole romance thing so no one can complain.
And I don't want that.
I hope everyone at Bioware realizes how many people do appreciate their work.

They also have NPCs that are interesting, that are not hetero so? NPCs are not the same as companion and never gonna to be, that is just the true of it.
I did warn folks about the lack of female representation on the cast, a lot of people seems to even be angry at me for this. So now there you have it, I am not even surprise at this at all. The only good thing about the romances, is that finally straight males have as much options as the minorities. Actually it is hilarious that gay males have two companions and hetero males only one lol I think I would never see the day really.
Come on, you have Cassandra. She seems to be more plot relevant than the gay characters. We're also screwed. Evereyone's screwed beside straightt females...

Equal options in DAO, More options in DA2 and double the options in DAI, I think our annoyance is justified.
Do you really want to argue about who gets, less stuff made for them in the game industry or Bioware game? Because that simes like an easy win ![]()
You wanna know the truth? If anybody has the right to complain its gay guys, I think they are the most underrepresented out of everybody.

They had Fenris and Anders in Da2, as many romances as us straight males.
Unsure if sebastian was a gay option, as well.

You can change race and enjoy the game. It's different from changing your character's sexuality.
And double the amount of romances with 3 times the amount of exclusivity isn't a little extra.
4 romances out of 8 is 50%.
2 out of 8 is 25%.
That's not a little extra, that's a huge extra.
You are changing their gender, silly. The females can romance those restricted extras.
This is going to be really silly but I'm humoring you.
Also, your math is horrendously off. If you wanna talk numbers, ok I'll talk numbers.
Since race-gate is a factor then race will be a factor in this little math exercise too.
2 are full straight romances, one is homosexual, just like everyone else.
Now, Cullen can only be romanced by 2 of the 4 races. And Solas by 1 of 4. FElves get 2 more LI and FHuman gets 1 extra.
Depending on how you take your premise, if you count an all-race romance as being whole, then man-appreciative fhumans get an extra 25% and Felf 50%. If you count them as 3 separate possible romances out of a total of 8 could-have-beens without the racegate, you get an overall 37% of two normal romances as increase of content. Cut in haf in order to compare to one normal core romance and you get a whooping 18.5%.
Let's go with the overall of 18.5%. That's how much more romance content man-loving female PC's get.
And now that I've also made an arse of myself by entertaining this drab "counting" I shall retreat and leave this butthurtness. (hopefully enough people realize how utterly stupid this "double" crap is now)

It very much is.
What part of DOUBLE the number did you miss?
What part of optional part of a video game that you didn't make did you miss? Lel. For the record I normally agree with your views about modern feminism but like I said, this is an entirely pointless and redundant topic to be bickering about. Why does it matter?

I don't want to argue at all, I want people to see my point. Honestly it's the shock of it that's most surprising for the people who are annoyed I think. When you've been represented in everything ever and then someone else gets more than you it's a shock to the system.

Well, straight males also got 2 options in Origins and 2, so nothing has changed for the worse on that part.
This time it just happened to be another group that got the most choice.
DA2 the same thing happened
Straight females got 3 options while straight males got 2.

I would've preferred it to have been dividedly fairly as well. But the tenacity with which some man children are using this as a "help! help! I'm being repressed!" soapbox is mind boggling.
Heterosexual male interests dominate media, entertainment, fashion, religion, laws, politics, and more, worldwide (give or take thousands upon thousands of YEARS).
Lol!
Sorry, two pages late. But, given that I stopped reading alot of this thread because that one guy is single handedly trying to get it locked, I feel the need to say that Monty Python references (that aren't the Spanish Inquisition one) are awesome. Keep 'em coming!
