I don't want to argue at all, I want people to see my point. Honestly it's the shock of it that's most surprising for the people who are annoyed I think. When you've been represented in everything ever and then someone else gets more than you it's a shock to the system.
Oh boy. Well, at least you recognize that it's because you are usually on the receiving end of it. Shame you don't see how it's not really that strong of an argument to support your outrage.

Wasn't that DLC character though? I feel that's kind of different.
I count Sebastian as half a romance. You had to pay extra to get him, and he doesn't even have sex with you. The world's worst hooker. I kid.

Trying to catch up on the news, and I wonder... did we invent a new system of mathematics?
I can barely handle metric. I don't think I can convert to BSN math.
Lol, I was trying to show how ridiculous that counting thing was by actually applying math (not BSN math, there is no BSN math, normal simple math)
Edit: also WOW, certain people using the word "feminist" as if it's an insult, yeah I'm getting the hell out of Dodge. Congratulations, you've won your hijacked thread. I hope it's gonna get closed cause this will get worse long before it even smells of getting better again. Damn trolls.

This is about Straight women having double the amount everyone else has.
Stop trying to ad hominem me.
You're the one who keeps yelling and screaming about straight men.
If straight men got 4 options and the rest of us got 2, would you argue this much on behalf of the rest of us? Be honest, now.

this is how most of you sound
"hey!! they got one more cookie than me!!!!" *throws stuff off the table and pouts hoping they will get their way somehow*
2 romances for straight male characters yet 4 for straight female characters. There's a difference between one more and two more ![]()

Though apart of the minimum for the sake of giving everyone an option, it's a story of two straight men and their straight relationships...
Maybe more diversity in writing room could bring some broader perspective.
This makes no sense to me whatsoever. I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm outraged because I have human emotions not because of any logic or reasoning.

Sorry, two pages late. But, given that I stopped reading alot of this thread because that one guy is single handedly trying to get it locked, I feel the need to say that Monty Python references (that aren't the Spanish Inquisition one) are awesome. Keep 'em coming!
You have my word, sir.

You're on the same footing as gay males and lesbians.
And yet this is all about the straight males and only the straight males.
not for me I'm just pissed that they favoured the straight females and left all the others hanging (gay females and gay Males as well as straight males) its just unfair especially considering they had extra time
no idea why the writers chose to write both extra romances for straight females? I mean would it have been that bad if Blackwall was bi ? (it would have been a unique romance but nope)
its almost as if they did these romances just to say DA:I has the most romances in all Da games and they made them so restriced because they didn't have that much time left

They had Fenris and Anders in Da2, as many romances as us straight males.
Unsure if sebastian was a gay option, as well.
Sebastian wasn't gay (I think), and hawk had only 3 lines of romance with him XD.

It's a pinned topic. They'll likely let people vent for a while then prune as needed.

I'd probably point out straight males make the gross majority of the gamers buying the game.
Though with this reveal, that might as well change.
Now now, no need to be extreme. I'll buy every bioware game until my end or theirs. Just slightly saddened at this reveal.

I'd also like to point out that the vast, VAST majority of the people, purchasing this game don't care nearly as much about the romances as this forum does. Not that you shouldn't have a passion in such things, but most consumers really, really aren't going to care too much.

Yes that is why there are more male companions and less female romances.

Not justifying it. Just saying that you have to see things from our point of view, we've never been the ones to miss out before.

It's unnacceptable to cater to a group where they have double the options compared to the gender-opposite group.
Even in Mass Effect, men never had THAT MANY options over women.
*ahem*
In the first Mass Effect, there are two straight romances for guys. Liara and Ashley. With females, you had Kaidan. Technically, that is 'twice the amount of love interests'.

I hope it does.
I hope this reveal makes it so that an exactly equal amount of straight people, gay people, and otherly people buy this game.
Because strict equality in quantity is the most important thing. ![]()

Oh for Christ's sake. Really? Really? You want to try to make it look like we're on even footing historically from Bioware games?
Okay, bucko. Here are the numbers (including DA: I):
Straight guys have had 32 female romance options.
Straight gals have had 30 male romance options.
Lesbians have had 11 female romance options.
Gay guys have had 8 male romance options.
There have been zero games where gay guys have had more options than straight guys. There have been 2 games in which gay guys have had the same amount of options than straight guys. There have been NINE games in which straight guys have had more options that gay guys.
Seriously, this line of reasoning is not going to do you any good because you are completely dead wrong about it.
