I don't understand why everyone is so up in arms. Everyone got someone this time around. I really wanted Sera as a romantic interest, but life goes on and the game is still playable.

Hell, I'm so excited by all of this I even made a thing! :D

Because straight women got double the romance options, that's why everyone is up in arms. To us affected it feels like pandering.

I hope at least one of the Manquisitor's voice actors does a brilliant job, otherwise I'll have to pass on Cassandra and be sad about it like it happened with Miranda. Not willing to endure hours of unpleasant voice acting for a LI.

The one in the videos sounded kinda normal, not bad but not cool either.

I know it happened, it's called explaining how my thought process went, emotions aren't dictated by my better judgement. I shall and always will want more than everyone else but logically I can't have that. I explained this in the same thread. It doesn't matter, you and everyone else unaffected by the news don't care.

Wait, so you admit that just this morning you said that you want the most options and don't care about the groups that get less options as long as you have the most and now that you have less you are seriously asking the very same people to show you empathy?

Wow.  Just wow.

Daveliam got the same romances as you. And if it weren't for Hepler's majestic efforts, one of them would be race-gated.

Had the least development of all ME3 romances and appeared to be more of cheap turn-on for straight guys with all those awful semi-nudity teasing scenes rather than something that was created with lesbian players in mind.

Um. I'm a lesbian and I quite enjoyed the Traynor romance. While maybe it wasn't your cup of tea, which is fine, let's not make sweeping generalizations shall we?

He also isn't aware of what Strawman really is and how he's an perfect example of it.

Anyway.

Yeah this thread needs to be closed.

I'm happy for the announcements, hoping the haters would go away. This game is gonna be amazing romance or no.

Male Shep was better, though.

One of them is Zevran, one of them is British. Never heard of the British VA, but we tend to be more talented ^\/^

Doesn't bother me about Blackwall over Vivienne.  I had already ecided my first char and romance would be a Qunari Female mage that lands the Iron Bull.

Thank you for revealing the last tidbits.

I'm theorically affected, and I'm not angry or disappointed at all (while I do whish everyone will get equal options in the future). Others feel the same as well, as it was shown in this and other threads.

As for that DLC idea, it would satisfy many but would also anger quite a few for having to pay for "something that should've already been in the game"

Well that was the case with Sebastian and yet I see he was mentioned as argument for females having more romance options through DA series more than few times at this point. So idk how to look at it.

No in the very same thread I admitted that this was wrong that to want more than everyone else is just pure greed, which of course I as a human feel. I preach empathy because I try to feel it for everyone. Emotionally I was annoyed by the news and yet logically it makes sense. I understand why you misunderstand at first glance I seem like someone trying to cause more arguments.

Yet now I see you've chosen to vilify me instead of trying to understand what I'm saying, I must say the lack of civility is incredibly bothersome.

I'm talking the lead writers, not some random guy that wrote for Vorcha Mercenary #397

Patrick Weekes came from ME to the DA team, and he wrote the recent DA novel that sets up the game. That's pretty "lead," and certainly isn't "random."

Okay folks, enough. I may complain about BioWare's romances (Blackwall should've been bi). But even I'm not this hard headed. We don't need to play the who's got it worse game every five seconds. It's tiresome.

End it. Straight females got an advantage. It sucks, it's unfair. But end it now. There's no more that needs to be said. Let's all just hope (or not) that it'll work out better next time. Because the longer we do this, the less chance the devs will continue to take our comments seriously.

My comment? I want a big, beefy knight in shining armour to be gay. I want him to be above reproach, not the slightest bit morally ambiguous (okay maybe slightly), but make him *gay*.

Right.  Well, I am a particularly solidly built gay guy, so I do make a nice shield, I suppose.

The thing about Morrigan and Leliana, amazing romances compared to Isabella and Merril. I like Isabella but find no real appeal to Merril so it was just one for me in 2. Vivienne would of equally balanced the gender ration in romances.

I made a similar argument in another thread. The 2 options feel disconnected, you either like one or the other (talking for myself). Viv was the middle ground which would create a different tension when choosing. Reason I really disliked the fact that Blackwall turned out to be straight and not at least bi. Swomen already have an "olderwiser" archetype. For gay men I think it would help balance their options.

For me this translates into a weaker experience when going through the story. It's more of an annoyance and certainly not a factor because I don't care about romances that much.

Overall I'm pretty disappointed by how the romances turned out. Not because of the limited options, but the general picture.

In reality we all have 8 romances options just not at the same time.

My advice: Journey out of your comfort zone, sometimes it can be a healthy and eye opening experience.

I felt rewarded when I romanced Traynor, but not so with Leliana. It's all about your preference! But go explore!

Yes, it does.

If the situations were reversed you'd have much more whining.

It wouldn't necessarily change the characters completely because that'd be like stating that one's sexuality is a dominant factor in the development of a person's personality which of course isn't true.

This is fair, saying it would change them completely was probably a bit of an overstatement. My point that you would be a different person if your sexual preferences were changed from birth still stands though.

People need the chance to defend themselves.
