Because straight women got double the romance options, that's why everyone is up in arms. To us affected it feels like pandering.

It's also pandering if straight males got more than everyone else. Or is it? When women are included, it's always considered pandering. They make up half the population, and 45% of the gaming population. (46% of habitual game purchasers...)

You can't pander to a large crowd is the general assumption. Reasons males tend not to believe that when things meet their interests, it could be pandering.

Women aren't rare, they aren't novelties, nor unicorns.

My comment? I want a big, beefy knight in shining armour to be gay. I want him to be above reproach, not the slightest bit morally ambiguous (okay maybe slightly), but make him *gay*.

Good lord.  Me too.  Once day my Big, Beefy Knight in Shining Armor will come!

I'm totally surprised by this, but in a good way, I squealed so loud when I saw Blackwall was an option my own dog started barking at me.

You sir, like many before you utterly fail to understand what I'm saying, I'm trying to argue for equality.

If you are a feminist, you should probably hit the treadmill instead of chatting online.

I don't see how this guy has any credibility left in his argument. Well...ok....you got me. He didn't have any to begin with. Can we lock the thread now?

I would greatly suggest people stop engaging with this individual. I don't think they can be reasoned with, as I do not believe they are actually here for a discussion but are looking to cause a fight.

You think that's how lesbians have sex, really?

I was joking. I do know how they really do it, actually, I had a drunk friend of mine deal with her recent breakup by describing it all to me in lurid detail. Many mental images burned there forever, now.

Just because he words everything in an aggressive manner and attacks people does not mean that he doesn't have a few good points. Something to ponder.

Sounds good to me, but I see the forum has thoroughly exploded once again.

People need the chance to defend themselves.

Defend themselves from what?

They'll probably let us run to the end of our cords - and just lock us for a pruning. And open it back up for people who wanted a healthy discussion on the Romances. Not this "I'm mad because I didn't get the most toys - Bleeeeh!".

Honestly, I feel like this, as an info posting, really should be a safe place. There is some dangerous flaming going on.

In reality we all have 8 romances options just not at the same time.

My advice: Journey out of your comfort zone, sometimes it can be a healthy and eye opening experience.

I felt rewarded when I romanced Traynor, but not so with Leliana. It's all about your preference! But go explore!

:o

Leliana is a god tier waifu, how dare you sir! ;)

Welp it is an interesting twist that the straight ladies got the upper hand this time round, straight guys will just have to take a seat next to us gays on this road trip. We can sing show tunes together!

Right.  Well, I am a particularly solidly built gay guy, so I do make a nice shield, I suppose.

Guess you won't even reply to my previous statement? Fair enough.

Oh, yeah. They absolutely are. But I cruelly enjoy antagonizing the poor dear. I probably should stop :( FWIW, Pateu, I laughed uproariously at your insult. Solid manger.

Makes sense when there are more male than female characters among your closest companions that there would also be more male than female romance options.

Who was it that wrote Rannock and the Krogan plot again?

John Dombrow wrote the Tuchanka arc (and all the wonder therein). He no longer works for BioWare.

Patrick and Sylvia wrote the Rannoch arc. Both are working on DA3 (Sylvia actually joined the team before ME3 even shipped).

I wouldn't have thought it possible but this guy is making me wish straight females had more options!

It's not dangerous. It wouldn't even be a problem if people didn't fall for bait so easily

That study feeds you conveniently gathered information.

Just because you buy an Iphone game doesn't mean you're a gamer.

82% of ME players played MaleShep.

Go figure.

Is that the right time to bring up your "it's about Dragon Age not Mass Effect" argument?

Seriously though. I wanna know where you get all these % informations from.

Does this mean that more males played ME though? Or does it mean that gamers who play FemShep are more likely to also play MaleShep?

Untrue. A game is a game. Puzzles are puzzles. Role playing is role playing.

Gamers exist in varieties, across all platforms of gaming, and genres of games. New consoles are being introduced to the market. You can play MMO's on an iPad. There is no "true gamer" - that's a delusion created by the butthurt backlash of some dude's lifetime achievement award for the world's biggest COD fan being less impressive than it used to be.

It's only natural - people have knee-jerk reactions, then someone starts stepping on *all* the toes, while trying to take the morally high ground.

We can see a few people squeezing in, braving the flames to give healthy criticism or credit where it is due.
