They'll probably let us run to the end of our cords - and just lock us for a pruning. And open it back up for people who wanted a healthy discussion on the Romances. Not this "I'm mad because I didn't get the most toys - Bleeeeh!".

 

 

Yep, this isn't their first rodeo.  Or, you know, vicious fiery explosion.  Whichever works.

 

IMO they're letting people who are upset vent their anger as long as hey don't violate terms of service and such. People should let their frustrations out - I hope they feel better come tomorrow.

With Vivienne not being romancable, I am wondering why no one is pointing out the blatant racism of Bioware.  What, are black people not good enough to romance now?

 

The above is sarcasm... Please don't treat it as anything but that... I'd just like to get it off this whole "there aren't enough straight male options" thing...

 

I'm not really going to touch the whole gay/straight/bi discussion.  It's not worth it, to me...  But I will say that, while I'm ultimately disappointed that Blackwall was the final option over Vivienne, the bright side is that I now feel that there are fewer playthroughs that I need to do in the game right now...  At least from the aspect of romancing characters.

This is fair, saying it would change them completely was probably a bit of an overstatement. My point that you would be a different person if your sexual preferences were changed from birth still stands though. 

Mmm.. yes that's a valid point but that's more of an effect of that person's environment, as in how the people of Thedas feel about homosexuality and how they react to it but I digress, this'll just take us a bit off topic... although from the looks of this thread that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

It's also pandering if straight males got more than everyone else. Or is it? When women are included, it's always considered pandering. They make up half the population, and 45% of the gaming population. (46% of habitual game purchasers...)

You can't pander to a large crowd is the general assumption. Reasons males tend not to believe that when things meet their interests, it could be pandering.

Women aren't rare, they aren't novelties, nor unicorns.

 

I'm assuming you are using this info from wikipedia. Keep in mind that it includes all games. MMO games, Console games, Mobile games, Browser Games, whatever. Truth is that a male assuming that he is the vast majority is kind of justified. The highest grossing games are played mostly by men (actions, shooters and sports). I doubt that the percentage would be so high if they got their number from console games only.

 

Hopefully there will come a time that this number will be legitimately even but I don't think that this time is now.

Some people have triggers, and having read through this thread, some triggers will get pulled quite easily upon a little perusal. I'm lucky that mine aren't in here. Blackwall (aka, the return of Cullen in terms of disappointment for me) already has made me a bit of a wreck, not gonna lie.

John Dombrow wrote the Tuchanka arc (and all the wonder therein). He no longer works for BioWare.

Patrick and Sylvia wrote the Rannoch arc. Both are working on DA3 (Sylvia actually joined the team before ME3 even shipped).

Wowwy late to this news. Even though I'm a straight female who will mostly play straight female quizitors, I'm super super bummed about Vivienne 

She looks incredibly intriguing, is smoking hot, and has extra prestige from being the first fleshed out black female character we know in DA (and in games of this genre in general....like wutttt!). I just imagined her romance arc would've been spectacular and unique. This just feels like a loss to me.

Also bummed that Blackwall is basically the core romance for straight female quizzies. IMO he's a niche market, and I for one, am definitely not in his niche lol. Doesn't help that he's probably gonna die from taint like any second now (jk but not really..pls no more Thane-types)

Seriously? I thought I just explained this to you. Emotionally I wanted more I reacted with rage because I am after all a greed filled person but logically it's only fair. I will always be angry about the decision because I'm the one getting less options.
