Same with femqunari. I'd have preferred if they made racial distribution more equal. Everything seems pretty unbalanced right now.
Oh, heck, really. Didn't even notice o.O

Giant props to Mr. Laidlaw for just pulling off the band aid and letting the chips fall where they may with the fans. Much appreciated.
2 out of 8. I managed to guess 2 out of frigging 8! Really impressive how many curve balls you guys have thrown.
Maybe you just suck at guessing ![]()
You guys should have been upfront with this info from the start.
Especially since you yourselves have designated some romances to be "core" and others "extra."
I thought I didn't have to worry about yet another male being straight, but here we are with 3.
FemElves have 6 possible romances. FemDwarves have 4.
Sorry! I mean male options. And even 4 and 6 are pretty uneven...
I have to admit, I get a bad feeling about both the race-gated options being straight.
Now if Blackwall has the "the taint is getting worse, I'm going to my calling" ending to his romance I've been wanting I will be one happy girl.
Interesting, without the 2 bolted on romances everything is even. Funny to make the 2 afterthoughts straight female only.
SPOILER WARNING! This post reveals all of the possible romance options that players will have in the game. If you want to keep the mystery alive until November, be forewarned. If you’re ready to find out now, keep reading!

Two “additional” romance options were added to the game as a result of the extra development time DA:I received. They are more limited in scope, largely for reasons directly related to their story arcs, but are otherwise the equal of the other options:
- Cullen is interested in female elves and female humans.
- Solas is interested in female elves only.

Thank you that these additional romances have been made possible. I think it's pretty awesome and I'm sure many players will be happy about this. So, yeah, extra development time
!

Okay, okay, okay.
Can I just thank BioWare for a second here? For everything they are giving us? Eight romances, all varied in sexuality, all with different personalities. Two of those were added because of extra development time?! More than one romance option no matter what type of Inquisitor you play as? 4 straight romance options, 2 bisexual, 2 homosexual, only 2 out of all those are race-gated... BioWare, thank you for all the awesome romance you're giving us. Thank you for the stories that players will experience with them, thank you for adding Solas and Cullen, thank you for even having romance in your games in the first place.
I'll say it again. BioWare, Dragon Age developers,

Interesting that Cullen (and Solas) are considered more limited in scope than the others. In a Gamermd83 interview with Cameron Lee and (sorry, another dev whose name escapes me) the lady dev said she saw a folder with a heap of Cullen romance arc scenes and binged on them all.
If his romance is "limited" relative to the core cast, it makes me wonder just how big the core ones are?
Previous romances have been limited to what...one or two scenes? A bit of dialogue nuance?

I would just like to say to Bioware:
Can we all agree that this would be a good way to go in announcing love interests for future DA games?
I would say it would have been better to do it all at once or not at all, and not announce ANY romances prior to release. Either that or simply not do romances, which gets tempting at times like these. Either way, I'm glad it's finally done, rather than leaving people to set their hearts on characters they haven't met yet only to be disappointed.
I think those comics becoming canon is probably the best thing to come out of this. :S
The hilarious thing is we still don't actually know if "Aimo's version" of blackwall is actually canon. I wonder how blackwall fans will react if he turns out to be completely different to their preconceptions...

what do you mean?
I do not find Cassandra or Josephine good looking enough for a romance, so my straight male Inquisitor is not going to romance anybody.
I was going to play a Qunari anyways, so it kinda suits him.
Can we at least engage in casual sex a la Jack in ME3? Prostitutes in brothels this time too? In times of war, romance is not always possible, but chances to unrust the trombone exponentially arise given the economic difficulties many peasants suffer.
Wow! I am going to have so many playthroughs...
My condolences to those who are disappointed.
I for one am super happy, so I will quietly rejoice. I'm glad that there's at least one woman amongst the companions/advisors who is not romanceable (and not for previous romancing reasons).

They are limited in scope only in that they are restricted to certain races. Hence the "otherwise, they are the equal of the other romances."

It'd certainly simplify things
