Meanwhile, I think I have been, since compared with DA2 which had 2 full fledged companion romances, now I only have a choice between 1 legit romance and Traynor-like romance (and I know that devs insist that advisor romances are going to be just as good, just as they suddenly say now that those 2 additional romances for straight women are just "extra options", so I have no reason to believe it) so I would prefer if you didn't speak on behalf of gay women as a whole...

Not really sure what the rest of your post is trying to say, though. If your personal metrics don't allow you to consider adviser romances as real romances then that's not really BioWare's problem, frankly.

Not to sound selfish but I am glad Cullen was added as another romance option since I have wanted him to be romance able since DA 2. Now, I was content with romancing him and Iron Bull only, if need be. But to hear I can choose between four dumbfounded me.

But on a positive note, Cullen is going to be my first LI with my Human Mage. Haven't decided yet with the others but I will wait and see with them. I do plan to romance them, but I don't know who I am going to romance next.

Really, I'm getting annoyed with the ME3 comparison. Gay gamer had been screwed in both ME1 and ME2 with no options at all, and they got a companion and an npc in ME3. The companion had less romance content than the same companion in a female shep romance. And the NPC was just a minor character compareed to the other straight female character (Garrus).

Yeah, people complained for years to show more equality in games, but then they decided to switch one group over the other and people think it's fair. That's funny, because as an straight male gamer, I never asked to have the preference of the industry nor said people of different preferences should have less then me, but regardless, I deserve to recieve less as payback for things I never ever did in the first place. Because you can bet your ass that if this was the other way around the outrage here would be doubled.

Ugh. You aren't being punished. The fact that you are in the same boat as gays and lesbians and think it's a downgrade should tell you something. Especially because your worst amount of options = our BEST amount of options ever.

That's what I was thinking as well - It would be interesting to say the least. But given the fact that it's possible for him to have fought beside a Mage (Even a Blood Mage, like all my mages #naughtymage) Warden, that he should feel a certain leniency. Especially considering that the Inquisitor is not part of the Qun, therefore, not under direct guidance by it's tenets. And I think the Bondage/Lip sewing was for extreme cases.

That'd be awesome, I like little nuances like that. Makes it feel more like a world and less like three games with loosely the same setting. Like the cameo's from existing characters (The entire Dalish Clan of the Warden, Zevran, Isabella returning as a companion.)

To elements like the Hawkes and Amell Mage Warden being related. Stuff like that just seals the deal.

Hm, might be. But again, his duties have changed if he is Arishok, I'm still uncertain how he'll act.

And the bondage thing is true for all mages of the Qun, or at least what we see as the Saarebas. It's what the "Qun demands".

 

I'd love to see more cameos. Sad about Zev not showing up. Maybe we'll at least get a reference.

 

I'm also curious how the party would react if you have family. Especially a LI, will they ask you about family/clan/caste/whatever? I want to see the LI's interested in the Inqusitor as much as the Inquisitor is interested in them

He's angry because other players are getting more content than he is and rightly so. Comparing him to a child just makes all of us look immature.

You had two FULL romances in DA2, ME3, and now DA: I. You aren't getting less.
 

You can say so, but it won't change my subjective reception (also based on objective facts, like the smallest amount of dialogues or lack of certain scenes) that made me feel it wasn't 'full romance'. And while obviously I can't know for sure right now, but it makes me feel pessimistic about the quality of those options in this game.

Oh, man...  Blackwall was the character I liked the look of most, from the start.  Didn't think Bioware would actually oblige by letting him be romanceable, though!

 

That said, the huge range available to elven ladies is making me reconsider the Qunari mage that I'd been sure I was going to play.  We won't really know what we love most about these characters until we actually play the game.  I might end up wanting to romance someone other than the ones I expect...

 

Anyway, sorry for all those disappointed, but thrilled at the number of options for straight ladies.

Im alright with two options but bioware should have just kept it equal so no one gets more then other groups.

As a straight male witch is what you have implied you are (sorry if I'm mistaken, but my point is still relevent to any sexual prefferance/Gender), yes it is US. It was unplanned content that was added after the release date was extended. So yes it is extra, and at some level you have to realize that you are guiding a story. Even as a straight man you can run a character that is any gender and sexuality by creating a role or frame of mind as so you can make their decisions in a way that is interesting and makes sense for the unique character you have made. So please understand that it is a matter of perspective. You say less content, but I look at the additions made after the delayed release date as gifts to encourage players to experiance playing something that may have been outside their perceived comfort zones.

Actually I too believe that the mustached man was trolling you. We can definitely agree on things. I just reacted harshly to your approach, not that your opinion. If you came in said something positive, then followed with gentle critisim such as "I know you intended well Allan, but your personal view on straight white male supremacy offended me. Please refrain from stating personal opinions that may offend certain parties." I would not have said a word of objection. I have a knight complex, and tend to try to come to the rescue when I see a hostile approach... So sorry for the strong reaction.

Have you seen the face he makes if you give him back to Denarius? Hearbreaking... I didn't do it, but I've seen it!




Also, that is true - Being Arishok would change his duty and mentality, though there's only so much that one can do about a Mage that they don't control. Either force it to submit, or kill it - and if you prove your strength I don't think they'll mess with you. A La, Hawke beating Arishok in single combat.

He's a mage, so they should all want to gang up and kill him, but he also beat the Arishok in single combat.



And with LI's wondering about family, I'd love to see what happens. Expanding on the "All that Remains'' ending where your LI meets you at your estate to comfort you (Or Aveline if you went 'Forever Alone' Hawke).

I'm wondering how the individual missions will play out.

Humans being part of the nobility.
Dwarves being former Carta members.
Qunari being Vashoth/Tal'Vashoth.
and Elves being Dalish.

I'm sorry but I whole-heartedly disagree. I'm SUPER disappointed that I'm getting less options than straight people again, but I'm not being punished. That's a weird mentality to have about this. One group got extra. That doesn't mean the rest are being 'punished'.

Not so. Every one of us is getting all of the content and we get to enjoy different parts of it with different characters. If Bioware caters more to the mentally flexible I'm perfectly fine with that.

I find all that arguing ridiculous. And pointless.

Should we expect uproar about bi females having 6 options anytime soon?

 

Honestly. I feel embarassed reading some posts. I wasn't happy sometimes with options which I had in previous bioware games, but I never dared to act like a spoiled, ungrateful child. And that bossy attitude in a "they should do this and that so it would fit my taste" or "we don't have as much so take away from others" kind of way... I understand that some people are upset, I really do but lack of respect towards writers and towards group which ended up benefited this time around is really disturbing.

 

At times like that, even if I really like romances, cause it's always nice addition to the game, I feel like they should just stop making them. And I would not blame them for deciding that, seeing as every single time revealing LI's starts some kind of war, and makes the devs deal with rude and offensive comments. 

 

Also. Everything would be perfectly equal then (I saw some people suddenly became equality defenders in one night - I am still not sure if it's funny or sad) 0 for everyone. Sounds about fair.

 

On the bright side, you can find some really calm, mature posts in here as well. So I would like to thank all these people who are able to show some tact.
