Logic comprehension fail? You don't pay enough to get equal treatment, thus they steal my money to make content for you, not the vice versa. Which is actually a discrimination and preferential treatment - you get more than you deserve.
A gay man is paying just as much as a straight man when he pays for a game. It isn't stealing the money you paid for the same game.
The fact that there are more heterosexual men than gay men is irrelevant.
And even if your logic is more than just hateful justification, I'd be happy if Bioware used the money I used to buy a game I'm expecting to love, to make it into a game Women and Gay Men can love too.
I chortled.
I like Dorian, but I will admit that the first thing I thought of when he was revealed was this:
Spoiler
LolI thought he had that Freddie Mercury( From Queen) "flamboyant camp" vibe

Same here, first comparison I made in my mind ![]()
B: Many of those who are upset are acting like petulant children, yes. But some are upset because of a post by Allan Schumacher, and multiple posts by other posters that say it's okay to give extra options to the previously neglected groups and avoid ever giving any of those extra options to straight males. Those who complained about this have every right to be upset. That kind of reasoning, imo, is complete garbage. It may be well intended, but it's ultimately misguided.
I'm still upset Cullen is a dwarf hater
Solas may be an elf lover but Cullen exclusively hates dwarves
A Dwarven lass name Dagda broke his heart after he was recovering from being tormented by the Amell-shaped desire demon.

Bioware had an excellent opportunity to do something special with Vivienne and a romance, I can't think of a single game at the top of my head during the 20 years that I've been a gamer (in the rare instances) where black women are shown deserving of love. As black man I know how a part of my identity is being portrayed by the world, I can't imagine being a black women seeing a part of your identity through the eyes of other people, in games or to an extent all of media. They are either depicted as prostitutes on the sidewalk and/or throwaway faceless characters to be shot killed and mutilated. With that in mind I had high hopes for the composition of Vivienne in Inquisition, who seems to be an amazing character, and from what we've seen so far really breaking the mold, unless she turns out to be a villain. Suffice to say those hopes have diminished quite a bit. If you are a straight white female, I'm glad for you that despite all the things you have to go through in this world because you are female, you are atleast shown to be deserving of love.

It's super straight forwardEh?
Oh.
People were writing what they wanted the distribution to be?
Making a majority of the cast bisexual again seems risky, given the (hysterical, but loud) reaction last time - and the devs have long professed their preference for the way Inquisition is doing it, with defined sexualities, because from one perspective it does allow them to tell different types of stories.
(Something like Dorian's estrangement from his family would never work if he were bisexual; it seems he doesn't want to be forced into a political marriage with a woman and he refuses to hide that part of his life.)
It's super straight forward
I always thought it would just be easier to make everyone pansexual, with the exception of certain people if they want to be restrictive for "lore" reasons (Sera, Dorian, Solas)
Romances are first and foremost optional fanservicey content, so to be restrictive to certain genders and races in a game that's trying to appeal to more people is counterintuitive, at least to me
Yeah, but fans have expressed the idea this violated their suspension of disbelief while others have used it to justify how "their" Merrils and Fenrises aren't bisexual.
Which is ridiculous.
Yeah, you can't romance Sera if you're a dude.
I'll get over it like I'm sure Oz got over Willow.
I'll be blunt. I feel a little spoiled by all these options for female players. Two aren't my thing, but one is practically tailor-made for me. And it feels great! A lot of the time, I feel just barely tolerated as a female player. This is nice. Welcoming.
I hope LGBT players get their turn at the top.

is that not what they did with everyone that's the reason we have this list.

Does he? I don't recall anywhere that it says that he does. Just that he is not attracted to dwarves.

I know that it would solve all these "they got more than we did, waah" issues. But from storytelling point of view it makes no sense. If you create character for your RPG and your idea is that he/she is straight, you do not change it only because someone wants to romance your hero. Your character is not interested in people of the same gender, and that's basically it.

Sure, it would be easier. But I do not think that's the right solution.
Also you did not make evryone pansexual on that list. Only got rid of straight people.
Cullen makes some kinda racist comment about dwarves if Oghren is in the party.

What I mean is why someone can not be straight for "lore" resons?
On a basic level, there's also a certain level of artistic importance.
One can point at Sera and say, "one of the first lesbian women in video games with a central role."
Ditto Dorian.
One can't do that if they're bisexual because Fable made everyone bisexual.
Ditto Skyrim.

If you are going to apply a racial tone to it and think she needs to be a romance option to serve as a good example for black people then shouldn't you be happy with her, regardless of her being a love interest status, as a successful career black woman focused on her career? Don't get me wrong, I'm not against having Vivienne as a love interest and was thinking that she was going to be one myself and was looking forward to it for a future playthrough on a more politically minded character, but I figured she serves as a good example on a surface glance (we don't know details of her in the game) as a strong black woman being successful (at least as far as being a mage goes).
Honestly, the day romances become just fanservice is the day they should stop writing them. Games are an artistic medium. Within certain limits, the writers and developers should be free to do as they please and evaluated on how well or poorly they do it.
