Just wondering what you guys think is better? Personally, I prefer the Infiltrator just because of the SR usage. However the powers available are fairly lackluster compared to a Vanguard's set and definitely kick ***.
Fun fact: If you have an infiltrator with the Singularity bonus your charcter reaches god tier.

Infiltrator is pretty much better because the sniper rifle is the best weapon in the game.

I'm personally going for vanguard .I'm more of a run in your face and blast you down with a shotgun type player.

For any difficulty? Vanguard looks like fun, but only on normal and possibly hardcore. Something about using charge on characters on Insanity just doesn't sound practical lol. So I would have to say...

I'm going for Vanguard myself. I've found Biotics to be incredibly useful.
Disabling enemies is pretty useful. I didn't like how often the SR would overheat, so I used shotguns more often. Lift + Shotgun is pretty awesome.
In ME2, I assume that Pull + Charge/Shockwave would send enemies flying. That's pretty entertaining.

An Infiltrator can't use Singularity in ME2.
As for which is better, eh, they're both cool. I prefer the style of the Vanguard.

In ME, I was an Infiltrator because he could unlock loot while kicking ass. Since anyone can 'hack' now, I might switch to vanguard, though I still want to try out that tactical cloak.

Infiltrator for sure, at least for my first insanity playthrough.

It’s hard to choose in my opinion as they’re the tactical opposites of each other. The Infiltrator is geared towards long range engagements; dispatching enemy groups piecemeal with their sniper rifle whilst using Tactical Cloak to traverse the battlefield and facilitate accurate shots. All the while seeking to maintain their distance but if they’re engaged at close range they have both AI Hacking to sow interference and Incinerate to deliver consistent debilitating damage so that they can retreat and repeat their initial strategy.
A Vanguard’s abilities on the other hand are focused solely on allowing the player to quickly close the gap between themselves and the enemy via the Charge ability, or to bring the enemy to the player by using Pull so that they can deliver their devastating short range shotgun blasts in as effective manner as possible. They also possess Shockwave which is also a useful tool for dispersing enemies so that the Vanguard can either retreat or better target a single enemy or group of opponents that are tightly packed together.
Basically, it comes down to whether you prefer either long range or short range combat. Personally I prefer the Soldier whom via a range of weapons has the potential to be the master of all ranges.

on insanity the vanguard really seems to have a disadvantage, all enemies come with armor and deal much more damage up close, the infiltrator wins simply due to head shot advantage and equipped with the geth shield you can almost snipe without the need of cover, ok i play on p.c so every sniper shot=head shot

The Vanguard was fun as balls when I first used him on Normal, but it wasn't a fit for me when I took it to Hardcore. Charging and shotguns and all that is fun, and you'll see people here who have pretty much perfected the art of Insanity Vanguarding, but it's not my thing. Staying back and popping headshots with my rifle is what I prefer, and I've been able to do so effectively on Insanity.

depends on what you call "better" - if better = more efficient at killing stuff, then it depends on the difficulty... overall i'd say the infi - up to veteran you can kill most enemies with 1 shot, hard ones with 2 with the right skilling - so you clear battlefields extremely quickly without risking getting hit even once... with vanguard, if youre lucky - and only up to veteran - you can also kill things quickly - but only if your timing is right and youre lucky...chance of dying is pretty high..so i depends on what type of player you are, if you like having the pulse 200 during a fight go for the vanguard... but dont be pissed if you need to replay some battler 3 times

no contest. Infiltrator wins .... vanguard is useless on the harder difficulties as your two powers don't do anything to enemies with shields, barriers, armor and charge is pretty stupid to use unless there are only a couple enemies. If you are down to that few enemies why not just shoot them? IDK, I don't really see the point of vanguard.

Depends, do you want a challenge or not? Vanguard wins with skill. Infiltrator is noob.
