(Spoilers)

Why didn't you include this? It would have made everything so much better. Some of the best voice acting I've heard in video games

I actually kind of hate this the more I think about it. Shepard automatically saying that he/she's a soldier and isn't fit for doing anything else would really bug me. Maybe my Shepard would like to retire soon after the war and do something else for a change.

This. It's more character railroading, with an extra helping of somewhat over-the-top tearjerking.

Yank those heartstrings. Pull 'em taut! If I don't hear vertebrae cracking you're not doing it right! That's it-AHH!!!

It wouldn't have mattered too much if it they implemented it or not, but since they didn't, some do believe that it is better cutoff short since Anderson was already dying anyways.

There's also the fact that this would certainly clash with the final dialogue with Garrus in London, should you choose to agree with his idea of retiring.

That too, but I did post the opposite dialogue(renegade, you could call it)that differs from Shepard agreeing with Anderson on retirement. Lemme see if I can find my post again.

I think that would even make Tali wince.

I don't want "feels" to dominate or supercede story (Genophage reduced to appeal-to-emotion versus strawman figurine, Legion becoming robo-space Jesus who dies because reasons at the cost of retconning everything about them), but at the same time the writing must not be utterly disconnected from it (Shepard and the Normandy crew discarded as an afterthought in the original endings in favor of the nebulous Big Idea). A balance must be struck.

Ah, here it is:

"Commander."

"We did it."

"Yes, we did. It's quite a view."

"Best seats in the house."

"You ever wonder how things would've been different? How our lives would be if this... hadn't happened?

"Sure."

"I never had a family, Shepard. Never had children."

"There'll be time enough for that now."

"I think that ship has sailed."

"What about you? Ever think about settling down?

"I'm a soldier, Anderson. Like you. Not really fit for doing anything else."

"I don't know, Shepard. I think you'd make a great mom."

"Uh-huh."

"Think how proud your kids would be. Telling everyone their mom is Commander Shepard."

"I don't know about that... not everything I've done is something to be proud of."

"God... it feels like years since I just sat down."

"I think you earned a rest. Stay with me. We're almost through this."

"You did good, child. You did good. I'm proud of you."

"Thank you, sir. Anderson?"

Why? I'll tell the reason why. Because after the full scene was made, Mac and Casey felt that it would have upstaged the scene with the Starbrat. That's a fact. There's a vid somewhere on Youtube in an interview in Final Hours about that if you can find it, if I recall. I'm not going to look. This goes back to 2012.

Original Ending.

I read that as "Mac and Cheese," but now that you said it it does make more sense now. ME3 as a whole was as simple as making Mac & Cheese.

But I love mac & cheese. Add bacon and it's complete.

Original Ending.

Catalyst: Wake up.

Shepard: Uhh...oh man. I had the weirdest dream. I was surrounded by baby asari but they were all speaking in Grunt's voice. They were all throwing things around the house biotically. They even broke my limited edition Sovereign model.

Catalyst: ... Are you finished?

Shepard: Wait, I think you were there too. I was chasing you through the woods, and suddenly you burst into flames, and then Legion, Tali, Wrex and Vega showed up and we roasted marsh...

Catalyst: So be it.

Maybe that's what he was doing before Shepard got close to the beam. He got hungry while waiting for people to come by so he can gun them down, but Shepard killed him, and therefore, he never got to have his huevos rancheros. Or, he though Shepard was trying to steal his precious.

I think both the final dialogue and the extended stuff in that video were both pretty bad.

Far too much cheese and father figure stuff for my liking.

Its bad enough the clown calls femshep a child, but having that extra dialogue would be crap since my femshep doesn't care about him. The majority of my playthroughs, I have TIM kill him

I thought Anderson did have a wife and kids, or an ex-wife. Am I wrong there?

Also, I'm picturing the Metal Gear Solid 'you died' music playing after Shepard says that last "Anderson?" "Anderson? Anderson!? ANDERSOOONN!!!"

I think Revelation mentions that he did have a wife, but the military life of Anderson caused their marriage to not work out

You did good, Shepard. You did good. I'm proud of you.

OR

You did good, woman. You did good. I'm proud of you.

I like the second option better. :D
