Can we please go the character creation screen immediately?

I wanted to start mass effect again but then I realized I had to play through that whole segment. Dragon age 2 had a similar thing. I appreciate the preview before we start the game but playing through it every single new game is a bit exhausting.

Yep I think most of us would like to see the CC immediately (or at least in some capacity PRIOR to seeing the Inquisitor). I'd be pretty surprised if DAI followed suit from, say, DA2.

I think it'd be kind of cool to try out a couple of abilities from each class as well, before you pick one.

yeah, like how dragonage origins was, you made your character immediately, i mean there was an intro, but it was just art work and narration. dragonage 2 i get because varric was telling his version of the story at first.

With Dragon Age: Origins and Inquisition - It's all first-hand. You're playing the story.

I think DA2 was different, because Hawk's story was being told by Varric, and that first part sort of gets you used to combat, and gives the game an early feel for the personality you're going for. (With the idle dialogue for Hawk changing on your favored options).

That being said, It'd be hard for them to do that beginning part like DA2, when you plan on picking a Dwarf, Elf, Human, or Qunari. Seeing as how they vary in size, build, horns and beard!

Could you imagine?

"So the Inquisitor was Average height and build?"
"Now that you mention it... He was 4 ft/7ft, and stocky/giant."

It would definitely help the replay value. If there is going to be a lengthy cutscene the option to skip it and jump to character customization would be awesome.

I don't want it to be a legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I use it as an example because if the gamer already completed the game and wanted to replay it, the player would go aggro as they have to go the tedium of a tutorial or something completely unnecessary and boring to get to the meat of the action. In Dark Souls 2 you jump straight into whatever you want by just running by the tutorial options and straight into the action. The option to save your character you created and save after goes beyond the conveniences of what players want.

Some players would build a ton of characters before they jump into the story, that's how some players function and being able to appeal to different types of gamers and get their approval is nothing short of astounding.

Very much agreed. I don't mind a little cutscene like origins had that you can skip, but I want to get my making of my character done quick.

Yes this.

The Varric story was very novel and different the first time around, by the time you are trying your third class a skip option would be a fantastic idea. I vote for a skippable cut scene start too for any foreword, for what it's worth

An option to skip the opening cutscene would be very nice.  Sometimes I feel like watching it (like in DA2, when I hadn't played for over a year) but other times it is extremely old.  I'm thankful that in DA2 I can at least skip most of it, except for the combat.  The opening scene is nice for a refresher on the gameplay, but I don't need to see it every time I want to start a new Hawke.

Other times, it can get downright irritating.  For instance, the opening to ME2 is very epic and well done, but it takes so damned long to get to the character creation screen.  It's really frustrating when I'm just trying to go back to change one digit of a face code, but (without using mods) I'd have to watch that opening sequence all over again.

i think they did this because Varric start the story by creating a image of a badass Hawke killing everything in his passage being dashing on the battlefield with the last armor people will remind him by; the striking the champion armor . It like he start from some last memory and then when the seeker ask to stop exaggerating, then he say you'll have to hear the whole story ! which is like if he'll start the real story with the real Hawke (and his most likely lothering clothes) it wasnt something so bad when you think of it .

If there's a intro before the CC, i really hope it's more like DA2 & less like ME2, that ME2 intro was way too long & unskippable

Devs have confirmed we won't be stuck with the long cinematic beforehand. We'll get the CC, then jump into the story.   :)

For the life of me, I can't remember which interview it was, but I'll edit this post with the link if I can find it.

Apparently it was asked and answered in the Raptr Q & A. Here's Princess Stabbity's awesome recap. (look under the Character Creation section)

http://www.princesss...evs-july-8-2014

Q: Will the character creator be before a big opening cutscene or after, like in DA2?
A: Before (ML)

I swear I've seen the answer in a semi-lengthier format, too. Possibly a tweet? Still good to know we don't have to wait forever to correct facial mishaps! :D

One of the things I can't stand.  I hope they have addressed this.  Or at least pull an elder scrolls and let you have a save RIGHT before you put all the info in.  As picky as I am about characters it would save me a lot of stress haha.

Oh yes please. Quick intros so that fixing CC errors isn't quite so horrifically tedious!

If I decide my PCs nose or cheek bones are off and I have to restart to fix it, I want it to not be a hassle. Especially considering that I already spend hours at a time in the CC.

Definitely agreed. I'd also like a chance to actually see my character in game before we go through the full opening cutscenes and/or dialogue. The number of times I've come up with something that looks great in the CC but horrible in game, and I have to click through 20 bits of dialogue and a movie before I can quit back to the menu....

I hope there is no intro before character creator. I remember playing through the intro 4 times in the row when I was pondering over what class and gender I wanted to do XD
