Will it be like Dragon Age: Origins where saves were like folders. You would enter your character and then select a save slot to load or add a new save. I found that system to be brilliant. What was not brilliant was the limitation of how many saves you can have per character. I remember reaching a limit on my Xbox 360 version. The saves were individual saves and not one huge save like Mass Effect. In Mass Effect 2 you were forced to save over your previous save if you went into New Game + and you lost the ability to look at the face code for that character which was horrible.

I liked that there was an auto feature in the game. Hopefully since the game is open world, I hope there is an option to auto save your game every 10 min or something. So if you die you wouldn't have to rethread the same old dialogue to ad nauseum. 3 autosaves would be great. Entering New Game + should give the character an extra folder indicating new game + if there is such a feature.

I don't think there's going to be New Game +.  They've said you can continue after the "end" but not that you can start a new game with the same character.

The save scheme was pretty much the same in DA2 so I expect it to continue on pretty much that way if you use the same platform to play it.

I hope it isn't the DA schemes at all. They are terrible to manage on a console (couldn't delete the character had to delete all the associated save files) and they have a limit on characters which stinks for those of use who have 2 players on the same console. The ME system worked just fine.

All I want - is for it to remain the same as before (Saves all go under a certain character, ability to swap character's)

But with the option of having little restrictions on the amount of characters you have. I think my BSN account says I have 30+ characters for DA:O Alone, and I hate having to move/delete a save to create a new character.

We only have 5 slots for DA:K and am wondering if we can delete one of those slots to make room for another one once we have gotten all we can out of one of those slots.

Well when you prevent someone from dying, you saved them. Unless you were the one who put them in danger in the first place.

Even if you couldn't delete them, you're always allowed to go back and edit them; so the result would be the same.

I hope there is a posibillty to upload saves to the keep, as I don't have any DA:Origins characters on my bsn account.

I'll be on PC once more, so I doubt I'll face save limit restrictions. As long as they don't remove quicksave, I should do fine.

Still, more autosaves would be nice, even outside of consoles, if it is going to be semi-open-world. From experience, having to restart from the other side of an open-world map does not... provide the greatest feelings. Other than that, can't comment really on the specifics of console saving systems.

I only ask because I tend to play games very thoroughly. I have over 650 hours on Skyrim for example. It would be awesome if I could get somewhere in the 1K-1.5k hours on DA:I without it getting stale. This sounds like a ridiculous amount of time to spend on one video game but my brother actually tops me on hours played on a single video game clocking in on over 3.5 K hours on DOTA II.

It's been established that the game only refers to the Keep at character creation, and then that Keep worldstate is no longer needed. As such, you can then replace it.

Well that's good news.
