After reading this article that identified the possible romances:

"So, enough of that, here are the main romantic options in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

  • Cassandra is interested in male characters.
  • Blackwall is interested in female characters.
  • Josephine is interested in both male and female characters
  • Iron Bull is interested in both male and female characters
  • Sera is interested in female characters.
  • Dorian is interested in male characters.

A couple of other options, said to be more “limited” in scope are possible, “as a result of the extra development time.” These are:

  • Cullen is interested in female elves and female humans.
  • Solas is interested in female elves only.

Which means, by a process of elimination that there will be no sexy-time interaction with any of the following characters: Varric, Vivienne, Cole, and Leliana."

None of them seem to be attractive (physically) and from the looks of it doesn't offer the same interest that Dragon Age: Origins had.

In my opinion...

vivienne-profile-260px.jpg
nope

morrigan-profile-260px.jpg
I enjoyed her in Origins but she went bat **** ugly during the time in that mirror.

Will not bang, I liked her other appearance in the Dragon Age Dawn of the Seeker.

Cool guy, but no. The familiar Tyrion Lannister.

and No..

I'm a male gender player. I mostly enjoy playing as a female character in my games like Fem Shep (voiced by the talented Jennifer Hale), customized female character in Saints Row (voiced by the lovely Laura Bailey), etc. I would play a male protagonist if I wanted to see female romance options.

In Dragon Age: Origins I played as a male to hook up with Morrigan. On my main account I played a female noble rouge that involved herself with Leliana as lesbian romances are cool... but honestly most of these characters you can romance are pretty ugly and derpy.

There's a huge forums thread of this on Gamefaqs.

Not sure if this game will appeal for me (in terms of romances) unless I can romance my Warden and Hawke I'm all good. Most of the good characters (ahem Leliana) is off the tables and literally by that...

Hang on....you have decided you are not romancing any of the characters. But you don't know any of them yet? Isn't that a bit shallow?

"Forced"

Achievements in game design seems to be controlling the way gamers play the game. I grew up as a gamer whom would 100% a game before they moved onto the next one. Now it seems like there is a bombardment of games with no time.

Well achievements now are diluted they aren't what they were once were. A challenge, now it's handed out like candy as gamers are patted on the head.

The best game I loved getting completed achievements for and because I enjoyed the hell out of the game was Dark Souls. Never will I play a game that was made with much attention to detail and it involved the psychology of the gamer. Brilliant in many aspects.

The achievements probably won't do that again. DA2 has only one romance achievement.

There is no consquence for failing to complete an achievement. If you romanced a character you didn't want to for an achievement then you wanted the achievement more than you didn't want to complete the romance.

You can choose to pursue them, or you can ignore them.

In DAO I romanced a few characters just to get the trophy not because I was forced to, but because I chose to.

Romance is an option. No one is forcing anyone to do a romance.

Cough Cough.

then there were the forced Mass Effect achievements.

These aren't achievements, they seem like chores. Something to checklist off than enjoy at your own pace. The pace is dictated to you on how you should play and in order to get all of them, play numerous playthroughs even if you didn't want to, but still want to get all the achievements.

Developers are realizing they don't have to hit gamers with a bat (achievements) to force players to explore every portion of the game. It all harkens back to forced collectables. Want 100%? Developers would hide these stupid collectables in dry empty uninspired areas so when players get their and see their environment, players can note of the surrounding assets that developers developed that would be missed by the casual gamer.

The brilliance of Dark Souls....

This area can be completely missed out. And it feels rewarding to miss out on it and discover it. It's so damn rewarding. I wish Dragon age: Inquisition has these types of areas. To break conventional game design in unique ways. Those who get what I mean would appreciate such beauty and secrets.

You must be a completionist type of gamer if you keep using the word "forced accomplishments". Could always just enable console commands and force the accomplishments if you're really dead set on not romancing anyone.

You're not forced to do anything, who knows, maybe there's an achievement for not romancing anyone. Personally this thread reeks of you being a judgemental a*shole throwing a childish temper tantrum over the character designs in the Frostbite system.

What do you mean you "wish DA:I had more areas like this (shows blurry picture of a lake from a game that has terrible character design)"?? Do you have a copy of the game before everyone else? Have you played it? Are you holding out information on us?

Troll thread - Found it.

I would listen to their plea, care about their motives. But they simply just aren't attractive to romance to be honest.

These characters are more like people you want to friend zone. If I don't see an attractive mate, I wouldn't want to romance them, simple as that.

Have you people seen the The Human Face (2001) by Elizabeth Hurley and John Cleese documentary. Certain parameters are built into a pattern recognition to insinuate attraction. These characters imo are not attractive. Morrigan in DA:O was fantastic her party banter was something to behold and her whimsical satire was something to behold. The duality of the character gave her an attractive personality and to some degree that best none dressed half clothed made her attractive and her face (modded) was appealing. I'm not sure what Bioware did to her in this game unfortunately. Hopefully her personality remains consistant depending on her experiences in the mirror.

I already gotten the Xbox 360 and Xbone deluxe edition copies preordered. I'm just hoping there's more characters to romance than the ones listed here, other wise a feature I will most likely skip, and if curiosity entails then youtube'em. I'm being extremely realistic and brutally honest.

...That's a bit shallow, isn't it?

I'll agree that I'm not currently attracted to any of the characters physically (though that's mostly due to my medication), but I didn't think Leliana was that hot in Origins and my Warden ended up romancing her because she found her attractive.  Think of what your character will find attractive, not you.

Also, if your character has exactly the same preferences as you, why are you playing them?

I would agree that these aren't the most attractive group of characters I have seen in a game, but I am not sure how much of that isn't just the new game engine.     That said, I can't really tell who I would and wouldn't romance until I see them in the game.

Personalities and voices tend to win me over 9 times out of 10.    Do you know how many times I tried to do a garrus romance in ME3, only to have Samantha trip me up every time?

My concern is since Alix Regan is now the voice of my inquisitor, I maybe in trouble.

Bioware are providing a host of romancable characters. If you decide you don't like any of them, then I guess that's too bad for you, but that's hardly Bioware's fault.

Or have I misread the tone of your OP?

I've basically resigned myself to romancing Josephine, who I like to some degree and might like more once I actually see her in game/in action, because I don't like Cassandra, and, I don't plan for my male inquisition to be gay, as I am not gay in real life, and I like female bootay.

I was hoping for Vivienne as well, personally.

Since there are not any suggestions in this thread and there is already an active romance thread in Scuttlebutt I am locking this down.
