but honestly, it's a flash game, I mean it's the thing they do on countless websites in a few weeks I don't know why it would be so hard to reelase.

Are these 3 items all unlockable in the first chapter or are some of them saved for the other two chapters?
- Yes, all 3 unlock items, are earned in the first chapter. Completing certain achievements in Dragon Age Journeys: The Deep Roads will entitle you to these items in Dragon Age: Origins. By signing in to your EA account in DA:O, these unlocks will automatically be added to your inventory, regardless of what platform you are playing on.
Since there is a lot of lore to be had, is there a codex in the game?
- There is a codex in the game, but right now it serves mostly as a repository for help information. We may be able to fit more lore into the game before launch, depending on how vigorously I whip my minions as they slave away to bring you this game. But remember, if Journeys is the appetizer, then we don’t want to ruin the feast of Origins by giving too much away.
Will there be impacting consequences of choice type of decisions to be made during the story?
- These sorts of impacting choices, which are a hallmark of Bioware RPGs, are something that takes great skill with both gameplay and writing to pull off in a meaningful way. For chapter 1 at least, we wanted to craft a linear experience; doing so allows us to focus as much as possible on the quality of experience. I can’t speak for the content of future chapters, but for now at least, we’re leaving these sorts of consequence heavy choices to the masters at Bioware.
What is your opinion on the difficulty of the battles to be encountered?
- Having experienced the level design and balancing process on a number of games, I can tell you that developers always run into the same problem on the when finishing a game. When you look at a game and play it day in and day out for weeks on end, the concept of difficulty flies out the window. The closer you get to your game, the further you get from a first time user’s experience. The more you play the same encounters over and over to make sure they are perfect, the less objective you become. Given that, we strive to make the game challenging but not punishing, and it is our opinion that we have met that goal. The nice thing about being a flash game is that we are able to track players’ progress and if anything is too easy, too confusing or too maddeningly hard, we’ll actually be able to make dynamic fixes to the game and improve your experience with it. It’s one of the great luxuries of working in flash and being dedicated to listening to our audience.
How is saving your progress during the game being handled?
- I wouldn’t have joined EA 2D if I didn’t have a great passion for browser-based games. One of the biggest complaints I have is that I usually play these games across four different computers (work desktop, work laptop, home desktop, home laptop), not to mention playing from my girlfriend’s computer in an idle moment or playing back home when visiting my family. As such, it always annoys me that if I’m playing a game with a lot of depth, like Gemcraft or Sonny, my experience doesn’t carry from computer to computer (unless I send save files between computers, which I have more than once). We wanted to make sure that you wouldn’t have this problem when playing Journeys, as we want your experience to have persistence whether you’re at work, home, school, library, internet cafe or friend’s house. So, for Journeys, saves are primarily server side. Each player has one local autosave, it will update your progress after a battle is won or a quest objective is completed. You will also have 3 server-side save slots. To access these saves, you will have to log in to your EA account. Logging in will also save your achievements, and entitle you to unlock items that, when earned, will appear in your DA:O inventory whether you’re playing on Xbox 360, PS3 or PC.
Ok, that’s all for now. I can see that JonKenden has some questions. I’ll get to those and any other questions posted here tomorrow. As for release date, I can only say soon. We are working around the clock to deliver you the highest quality flash experience possible. Until then, I must return to Orzammar. The dwarves are calling me.

Exactly, he has a game to play, we have nothing. Thanks alot EA, thanks.
Look for this next week. That around the clock stuff is always given by every single company making games. Truth is they are just using marketing tools. Otherwise they'd release the last blog, which is already done. They just want to keep people in suspense and ****** the rest of us off with stupid delays for a game with countless delays already.
I'll be glad when it's Nov 3 and they can stop delaying every single product they work on.

Thanks for the update. Don't worry, you're just trying to get the word out on the game.garin wrote...
The release date was never official. I gave specific dates on my site when I really shouldn't have-- I'm sorry for any disappointment or confusion. Rest assured you'll be playing it soon, and well before the release of DA:O.
I still wish we could know why it has been delayed, but I'm not gonna throw a fit about it since it sounds like some puppetmaster above is playing with the release date.
Thanks again for all of your hard work in putting this together. We're looking forward to an enjoyable afternoon, or somesuch, spent playing through DA:J!
PS: Just so you can stay on top of this, for me, "well before" is at least two weeks. I'm that specific.

The guy just said on the previous page that he was jumping the gun when he said Octber 20th. I think October is as accurate as anyone can really be right now as far as the release date goes.Valcutio wrote...
They said October 20th for release. 2 weeks before game launch would be nice to give people plenty of time to finish. Hopefuly they stick to their guns.
Don't worry, though, you won't need two weeks to finish the game. Read FamousAspect's posts for more info.
