He said ~3.5 hours - regarding that, in the morning of the 3rd Nov. would be enough?

It'd be nice if we could get a tentative release date for the flash game for those of us who are excited about its release. That way, we could reduce our traffic to the DA websites accordingly until the flash game is out.

Yea, it's just typical, delay, non information, and promises of you'll get it someday. Welcome to the lack luster unproductive video game industry.

I'd say you'll get it next week if your lucky, early nov if your not.

Geez, man. I want the game to come too, plus I'm irritated at the delay.

But no need to be rude like that.

It won't make the game come faster, and it will make the developers less responsive. The only way you can actually punish the "lack luster unproductive video game industry" is by not playing their games.

Sorry for being so preachy if you're just having a bad day or something like that.

So the game is being delayed? Would you like to give disclosure? Is there a reason for hiding the reason for delaying the game? Original release was slated for Oct. 20.

Just wondering (wishing I could be playing it right now)...

Look at it from good part if it wasnt because of the delay we woouldnt get the DLC right on the first day and FREE!!!

Come on already. If the game's not ready to come out, then just say it isn't officially and give us a date for when it will be ready. There's no reason for me to believe that these developers have no idea when the game is going to be ready. Your fans are here waiting and the least you can do is keep us informed on this better than you have on the console versions of the actual game.

agree with abngoose3. but we are more than fans. Bioware is a business and we are thier customers. our money funds their work...we are the demand. so i dont think it is too difficult to ask for a release date. every other sector of industry is required to generate and hold to schedules. when the schedule slips in "the real world", heads roll and profits are lost. somehow, the video game industry believes it is above the law in that regard. and in reality, we, the comsumer, have given them the balls to be that way. hell, here we are, pining away on this forum waiting for this silly little flash game release. case in point. so, since we have no real leverage with Bioware (apart from refusign to buy their products which clearly none of us are willing to commit to) then i guess we get to wait...like some pathetic herd of lemmings...until they choose to "feed our addiciton".

and sadly, i will be impatiently waiting for that fix along with the rest of you.

I doubt that the promise of a reduction in traffic to their websites is the inducement you are looking for.

There is a tentative release date (October and soonish). I'm sure we'll hear about it when it's ready. It's a free game that builds excitement for the upcoming PC release and encourages players to sign into the new social site, so they absolutely want it to be available and working its marketing magic, the sooner the better. If there's anything holding back the release, it isn't 'laziness' (wtf?) or a lack of productivity, it's just a matter of getting all their nugs in a row for the game to be as appetite-whetting, available (infrastructure permitting) and polished as possible while still being released soon enough to be timely and effective. I'm sure they are at least as eager to push their squalling new baby out into the world as we are to see it.

maybe this slight "delay" actually means that Bioware is making a real effort not to release a product that is full of bugs!!!

Nah.

Personally I've never seen a official release date for the flash game. Maybe someone can point me to it ? For the impatient there is a huge difference in one or two days.. but for the managers of ea / bioware ?

When it's finished by the development team it has to go through the QA, it has to get approved by producers, managers, probably from bioware and ea. And when there are bugs found or stuff to get changed it starts the chain from the beginning :)

Look the video game industry as others have stated constanly does this. Every other industry has to stick to dead lines. You promise you get something done, you don't make the date, people get fired and you lose money. The video game industry does not though. EA recently laid off people and maybe they will start to learn that they can just keep this ignore the fans approach going forever.

It's real simple, if you must delay your game, don't delay every single other piece of fan items you will release then after. It makes people think you can never hit a date.

Plus I was there back when it was years ago, and the devs never even spoke to the fans because honestly, they didn't care. So to act like there's some big lovey dovey company is silly. They want money, they can do a little better.

Not to mention now they want to raise video game prices from 60-75 on pc for no apparent reason. If they want to prove they earn that much of my paycheck then get working and stop delaying.

That's my thought.

I guess I'll be happy when it gets released, but I'm not dependant on that. Until then I can easily waste my time with other stuff. Having said this...

Go for the eyes Boo, go for the eyes! Aaauuuuughhh!!!

Slightly divergent topic:

For those of you that are eagerly awaiting this flash game (as I am), would you be anywhere near as anxious to play DA:J if it did not contain "content" that you will be added to you DA:O character inventory?

I for one, would still play the flash game but would not be nearly as interested as i am. For me, the interest originates with the idea that I am potentially acquiring items for my DA:O characters.

The items are the main-reason for playing the flashgame, right!

Until now I wasn't even aware that there are items and tbh I do not really care about those items. I just want to play the game to experience more of the DA lore.

Brody, until today's news, I was eagerly awaiting the flash game simply to keep me busy until release. I REALLY want to see level progression & skills & abilities... BADLY.
I'm putting a guess on the release date. I think it will either be this Friday, Oct 23rd @ noon, or the following Friday. That way they aren't competing with Tuesday releases of games (Borderlands, etc).
EDIT (add): Not that eager about the items b/c I don't want the items to invalidate the nicer treasure drops in the real game.

Well time isn't exactly on their side. How many Dragon Age players do you think will be playing their game once the ACTUAL game is released? This is almost like a promo of the game so you'd want it out there being played now as people wait for release surely?

I realise the game isn't redundant after release and offers different gameplay (isometric tactic) in the Dark Roads but its biggest impact is now isn't it?

P.S Brody - I keep forgetting I am even getting items for the real game - doesn't mean anything to me.  I always loved games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea - I would absolutely love playing this one.

I read that this game will be comprised of three chapters, but I really wonder how long the playability will be compared to other flash RPGs such as Sonny and Monster's Den. Of course, this is also an advertisement in itself for the release of Dragon Age: Origins, so I won't be getting my hopes up too much. Shame on the person who specified a release date if today ends up flying over our heads. -_-

The average playability is 3-4 hours, though I'm sure someone will blow through it in 1 and someone will take 8 to play it. Gamers are like that.

Yes they do need to release it before release, but they could just as easily release it next week and give fans a whole week to play it.

It's just EA/Bioware again, caring more about marketing impact then fans.
