This sounds a lot like Crossroads Keep (NWN2) only much more so. This is very happy info! ![]()

It remains to be seen if Skyhold will be complete either before during or after the main storyline has been completed.

Now at least if Oghren shows up and I can find nothing else for him to fill within the inquisition he has a job he can fill!
Also good to hear about about the different ways we can customise the Skyhold and that we have to work towards it. I always felt that the vigil if we had it from the Start of origins (well post ostagar at least) could have been something similar to this.
Look forward to earning the keys to the Skyhold

Looks wicked awesome but...
Is it strange that I'm most excited that...
Early DA:I story spoiler warning:
Spoiler
It'll probably make sense when we see it. We might not be in the actual castle at first or be considered its master.

That was my entire point. I'm glad there's some buildup to that moment in the game. Kind of like how you don't instantly start out as the Normandy's senior officer in Mass Effect.
But I've always been a person who appreciates the upward climb. It explains why I start RPG games dozens, if not hundreds of times, but often only finish a handful of playthroughs.

This reminds me so much of the Dead Kel DLC from Kingdoms of Amalur which i thoroughly enjoyed. Gradually building up your base while passing judgements and doing some adventuring... My idea of gaming heaven.

I wonder if we're able to show other people what our Skyholds look like. Would be totally boss if I can show people my crib ![]()

I believe that they have previously mentioned that we would have a garden - I'm hoping for a nice indoor atrium, but I'm okay with it being outdoors. I would probably kill for nug and/or mabari topiaries to decorate with. ![]()

So what do we all think the three example throne décors are? Ferelden, Orlesian and Tevinter?

That seems likely, I can make out lions in one and dragons/snake in another, the middle one must be ferelden I guess!

As someone said, one of the pictures on the article is of a really nice looking balcony. In the lower-left corner, there is a picture of Empress Celene from the Masked Empire cover! Awesome!

It’s a fixer-upper
Yessssss perfect. This. This is exactly what I want something we build into greatness.
In many ways, looking around your castle allows you to gauge your progress.
YESSSS visible progress!
“It goes from ‘kind of wrecked castle’ to ‘your castle.’ The walls are fixed. Your soldiers are patrolling. You see your support staff growing in number. Merchants come to set up station. You get that feeling of it becoming a grand, central hub.”
It's christmas
For example, if a tower needs to be rebuilt, you can decide if it is outfitted to accommodate mages or Templars, depending on your allegiance. Or, if your character is a Dalish elf, you can furnish the castle with Dalish woodcarving. “As you explore the world and play different quests and side content, you gain access to, say, different thrones you can put in place. Different decorations, different heraldry and symbology,”
I just want to roll around in all this news with my happiness

Just. Wow.
So I'm definitely having a dalish Mage. Gonna make my hold look all dalish like.
Sentencing a Mage to tranquility?
Ok that seals the deal for having a human Templar inquisitor. (Or...dwarf?)
November seems way too far away now
