There should be a peace option when we solve the Mage-Templar conflict

I'm thinking something like in ME3 with the Geth and Quarians meaning that if one made the right choices there should be a peace option when handling the Mage-Templar war

I really don't want to side with one party because both have done terrible things and made mistakes (like with the Geth and Quarians) and I don't agree fully with either one of them

Anyone agree? What are you hoping for? I would rather have the option to tell both parties to go to hell instead of having to choose again (like at the end of DA2)

I'd presume there will be a way to end the war peacefully, i mean that was what the summit at the beginning of the game was about after all.

So it appears both groups are at least willing to consider going to the bargaining table.

I'd rather a kill all templars and recreate the imperium option.

Yeah I agree. I'm hoping for a compromise based around the reformation of the circles, with relaxed rules and more focus on education than imprisonment, while still retaining the Templars as a policing force, albeit a lot more accountable.

I'd rather see all templars gone for good and then world unravels into chaos. I would be sooo happy.

I wouldn't assume we'll be resolving that fight will be something that happens this game.

Though I agree a neutral path should exist, though it needn't necessarily be the optimal choice.  It might just leave you without a real ally.

I'd prefer to get an option to tell the two sides to suck it up and focus on the problem at hand, the big hole in the sky spitting out demons. If I don't get this option I'll side with the mages as I feel for their plight and tbh they are way more powerful than Templars imo. Better equipped to handle the Elder one and the Breach for my Inquisition.

thats exactly what I'm hoping for as well

both parties have made mistakes and at the end mages shouldn't be allowed to run free but still they should be treated well and the templars should be restrained

a new type of circle would be awesome (sry Anders there is actually a compromise)

Same here. Especially if they can work together to find something that can benefit both sides. And if they were willing to talk before the Breach occurred, that says something.

While DA isn't ME its highly possible that there is a option i mean DAI's themes are faith. To some that means faith in man

I know it's a fantasy game, but that's so freaking unrealistic that I don't even want to start.

People with the power will always abuse it, always. It doesn't matter who they are - templars, nobles, mages, wardens, it's just the nature of men. Time will pass and they will abuse it again. Someone will always suffer. Mages, for instance, suffered enough,I'd say it's mundies turn now.

You shouldn't be betting against 90% of the population, it won't end well.

The Imperium had armies, and powerful mages, demons, golems and who knows what else.

It still fell to a bunch of people with pointy metal sticks covered in steel.

As much as I would love a peaceful resolve to the Templar/Mage issue . I'm afraid someone will get screwed in the end of the deal . Mind you , if they do it right it may just be an awesome thing . But.....there is the but . So we just have to wait . And if there is no peace option....then I be killing the Templar !

There will be no compromise. The maleficarum will be put in the circle... or they will die. I'll put this guy in charge of dealing with the maleficarum

Even one mage can do a lot. And it's not 90%, 70 or more just some lowly peasants, they're nothing.

Either way, a shitty end is better than a sh*t without an end.

We know the Imperium lost everything outside of Tevinter.

That speaks volumes doesn't it?

I shant waste my time with identifying these "normal mages". They shall live in the circle, or make good tranquil personal assistants, I heard that work for a certain knight commander.

whats your point? of course there are always some who abuse power on both sides (we have seen numerous Templars and Mages doing exactly that) but that doesn't mean that there can't be peace for most of them

I imagine that most (on both sides) are just tired they want peace and the war to stop hence the peace talks at the beginning of DA:I there are always extreme people (just look at RL) but that doesn't mean that we should just give up hope
