I avoid metagaming whenever possible (sometimes I manipulate the approval system, but that's about it).  There is no indication that Karras is a rapist when you meet him, and so I make the decision based on how that version of Hawke views the situation.  This usually means he lives, but sometimes he doesn't... he'll be alive in the world state I import, however, so I guess that's the timeline that counts.

Never picked up that he's an implied rapist, Can anyone inform me when that is in the game?

I believe it comes from some of the dialogue with NPCs in the Gallows after the quest, but I never noticed it myself either... I'm sure someone else can tell you more.

Act I, one of the mages is threatened by Sir Karras to stay silent about his visiting his room at night.

Later one tries to justify his escape from the Circle by saying "And the Templars, sometimes they force you to DO things."

Hawke's greatest failure was not running away from that city like it was the Blight.

Supposedly.

If you can believe what a blood mage tells you anyway.

<.< I stopped listening to the whining of the mages, pretty early on because they kept slitting their wrists.

Seen as how Alain is one of the more sympathetic mages, i.e one of the few who didn't turn to blood magic then chances are he's telling the truth. Which is pretty horrible..

My versions always get a bad feeling about the place when we land, but the sibling always shoots down the idea that we should head for a different port...

Carver:  "We're not putting mother through that!"

lol... If he only knew...

Pretty much, although he did have to use blood magic once to wake someone up in Act III.

The plot demands it, also someone has to kill Orsino and Meredith they both deserves to be judge.

Actually according to Masked Empire, the templars in Kirkwall are representative of the extremist hard line interpretation of mage treatment that is found throughout the marches.  Even the Orlesians think they are extreme in their treatment of mages.

I assumed that's why Cullen is with them.

He joined Meredith because he's all hardline and extremist now.

Then he watches where that leads.

Poor guy, he should have gone to Orlais.

He would have likely done far better under Lambert.

Actually he went to Kirkwall because his Knight Commander felt he needed a change of scenery to clear his head after the events of DAO.

It would have been better for the mages. I could see Cullen siding with Evangeline.
