Ok Thank you, So I currently don't have the Citadel DLC but when I get it I start it by just going to the citadel after the sanctuary mission?

And because I'm a paragon I don't have scars?

The Citadel dlc becomes available after the coup. The dlc can be played at that time if you choose. The reason why I say wait till after the Sanctuary mission, is that way you get all possible meet ups with all character in your playthrough. The gameplay can be done, just hold off doing the meet ups till after the Sanctuary mission. I usually do the whole thing after that misssion

The scars go away the more you play as a paragon and will remain gone.

Plus, do Chakwas/Michel's 'fetch' task and Glyph offers up some tech that can remove the scars.

From memory, if you buy the Citadel DLC and you've already done the Citadel Coup mission then you should just get a mail on your terminal saying that the Normandy is being called in to the Citadel for repairs. You can then head back in to trigger the mission.

Re the scars - yes. I'd forgotten this - recently did Omega and took all the renegade options, and ended out coming back to the Normandy with a bunch of scars.

Ok thanks, so I shall get the health boost seen as I'm playing paragon. and therefore have no scars.

I understand the citadel DLC now thanks!

Because I haven't played the previous MEs is there any reason for me to get the "From ashes" DLC?

You should definitely have From Ashes.

It includes a new character, and a ton of exposition about the Protheans and the Reapers.

I couldn't really envisage playing ME3 WITHOUT From Ashes tbh.....

Well then... another thing that I shall get.

The cost is stacking up now, I need to get ME 1&2 and The DLC for  ME3, before I go any further is the any DLC that I "need" for ME 1&2?

Yes get the From Ashes dlc. Play that dlc as early as possible to get the most out the dialogue from Javik.

For ME1, I would get Bring Down the Sky.

For ME2, if possible get all dlc for the game.  Most times I don't play the dlc in ME2, except Arrival. Getting the Arrival dlc will bridge ME2 into ME3

You don't really "need" DLC for ME1, though the Asteroid is quite nice and has the best Omni-Tools and biotic implants in the game. For ME2, Zaeed is quite useful for the ending mission, allowing you more variety in other squadmates' loyalties. Kasumi's DLC gives you arguably the best SMG in the game. Lair of the Shadow Broker gives an ability to reset squadmate powers and ties in ME3 story-wise (as well as gives some interesting background on the characters). Arrival is the direct perquisite for ME3, it's the reason you are on trial in the start of the game. And Overlord has one of the best combat soundtracks in the series!

Agree - the only DLC for ME1 would be BDtS - there's only two DLCs anyway, but the other one, Pinnacle Station, is rubbish. Don't waste your $$$ there.

For ME2 - I'd disagree with Mike slightly. Whilst Arrival is a good bridge between ME2 and ME3, you should also get Lair of the Shadow Broker - IMO, on a technical level, probably the best DLC of the series, and the Kasumi DLC (Stolen Memory) - again, a new character (who carries through into ME3), and a very good DLC mission in its own right.

Personally, I'd also get Overlord, but it's not essential.

Oh right, this gonna cost me a butt ton to get, I've got some saving to do.

Story-wise I would view only Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival as essential. Others add interesting characters and great weapons/combat encounters, but you can do without them. I quite like the story of the Overlord though :)

Ok then, because of people recommendations I'll probably end up saving and getting most of them, and them playing ME1 from scratch, Can I somehow get my ME3 Femshep's face into ME1?

Also can you list the Price of all the DLCs so that I know how much I need to get? Thanks!

Me1: BdtS is free anyway
Me2: I'd say lotsb and arrival are a must
Me3: I'd say them all; if you have to drop one then omega

When I bought ME2, all dlc came with the game except Arrival.

The shadow broker dlc I'm not a fan of since I have to be nice to a character I have no use for. In that dlc, I'm playing a different femshep from the one I have in the main game. The overlord dlc isn't bad. I choose not to play it on every playthrough of ME2

I decided to treat my Bro to the series last year - bought him ME1, ME2 and ME3, and then told him that I'd buy him all the DLC as well.

Mistake.

It does mount up. Don't get me wrong, I love the DLC as it really fleshes out the universe, and some of it, particularly in ME3, is essential, either directly, or indirectly to the storyline.

In terms of importance;

From Ashes

Leviathan

Citadel

Lair of the Shadow Broker (I know you SHOULD consider Arrival more important than LotSB, as it directly links ME2 to ME3, but ME3 still works without it, and TBH, I'm really not much for Arrival due to the nature of the mission at hand within the DLC)

The rest is all nice to have;

Kasumi

Overlord

Omega

Bring Down the Sky

Zaeed

The rest, you could easily live without;

Firewalker

Pinnacle Station

There's also the Genesis, and Genesis II DLC, which are interactive comics that sidestep you having to play ME1 and ME2 by basically running through the stories, in comic form, and letting you make key decisions along the way, which then import into the next game. They're not perfect, and I would ALWAYS recommend playing the games rather than using them, but they are there.

Ok thanks, I'll probably end up getting all of the ones that you suggested, Can you list the price of the DLCs? because you can't see them in the Origin store.

Re the DLC - depends on which platform you're playing the games, but if you pick up the trilogy sets then you get some DLC free with it.

  • On PC, Mass Effect will include Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station on disk.  For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included which features Zaeed – The Price of Revenge, The Firewalker Pack, Cerberus Assault Gear, Arc Projector heavy weapon, and Normandy Crash site mission.  For Mass Effect 3, Online Pass will be included granting players access to co-op multiplayer.  On Xbox 360, Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station are not included, however they are available as stand-alone downloads through Xbox LIVE.  For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included and Online Pass will be included for Mass Effect 3. On PlayStation 3, Bring Down the Sky will be included both on disc and on the PSN download, Mass Effect 2 will still have the same DLC on-disc that it was originally shipped with: Cerberus Network; Genesis; Kasumi; Overlord; and Lair of the Shadow Broker. Finally, Mass Effect 3 will also be exactly as it originally shipped

As a suggestion, you could get the main games and play those and as you get the funds for dlc's, purchase the one's that interest you first

Yes. Kasumi, Zaeed and Javik.

I have a ps3 and when I purchased ME2 gave me all dlc except Arrival and I had to purchase From Ashes for ME3

I also got the trilogy edition and from what I understand it has all dlc except Arrival and ME3 dlc's.
