With Thedas being weakened by the blight and the rifts, it seems the perfect opportunity for the Qunari to invade.  I personally would love if this is the case for Dragon Age 4, and I know others have mentioned it as well.  What do others think about this possibility and direction for the game to take?

Does it have merit?

Is it something you'd like to see?

If so. Why?

If not.  Why not?

Is there another better direction you'd like to see the game go in for dragon age 4?  If so, please share it and explain why you think it would make a better story and game than a Qunari invasion.

I'm pretty much expecting that to be the plot behind DA4

Hopefully it'll be in the northern countries

I always imagine a game focusing on a Qunari Invasion almost playing like some kind of XCOM crossover where you steal all their tech and have your insane Magister scientist create new and terrifying machines of war with it.

And it's ****ing awesome.

I'm so hoping this is the case.  The idea of the next game focusing on this makes me want to scream!!!! :D :D :D

I like the more about the Qunari idea, but I'd much prefer a reason to hop over there and see their culture on its home ground. The problem with an invasion is it's just going to be your standard marauding army and sideline the more interesting bits of their society. I wonder if there's a plausible way to do this in reverse and for once we get to be the invaders. Or even rescuers. You just need some event that rips them up enough to make them vulnerable, and one thing I can say for the Dragon Age universe is there's no shortage of massively destructive events.

I probably be in a minority here (plz don't hate) .

Do I want to see something about Qunari invading ? No . I don't .

Why? Because , I see them just like another Chantry with a different shape that is all . Yes , I know chantry and Qunari are different here and here and there . But in the general idea of 'want to dominate with religion/Philosophie' ? Same stuff .

Better direction for dragon Age 4 ? Oh hell yes . I want a story centered around Flemeth and her ties to all these old gods we keep hearing about . And maybe even get in deep with how the Elvish deity if they have any connexion at all .

Again..that is just what I like to see :)

It's been mentioned too many times to never happen.  I'm thinking DA5 at the latest... whenever it happens, the game itself will probably be set in Tevinter.

Given that the last Qunari invasion lasted 150 years and saw a third of Thedas subjugated, I've always thought a Qunari invasion is much too big a deal for a single protagonist to thwart. If the Qunari invade it should be used to permanently (or at least in longterm) shake up the status quo of Thedas.

Honestly, the Qunari may never actually invade. It's an ideological idea they must.

But that sort of thing existed in communism too.

Hawke short-circuited the last invasion and I'm not sure we would get anything different the next time.

More likely it'll never happen.

That wasn't an invasion it was half the crew of a single boat stranded and going berserk after 3 years.

Oh I'm fully expecting a turn around and ultimately Flemeth will be our main villain.  Is another way I'd love to see things go.  One of my favorite characters I got to play in a game killed the king, took his place through shapeshifting, and fought off the invading evil forces because damnit he's the real main villain and this is his lands to dominate, not theirs.

I think the Qunari war will be awesome too.  I mean once we beat them back, we can do a counter invasion.  Game takes place in both lands.  I like the Qunari because they are not a theistic religion, I see too many theistic religions.  Mostly I like the culture clash.

The first blight lasted almost two-hundred years, the next three lasted each over a decade. Now comes the fifth blight and our PC fixes it in a single year.

... But I agree that the Qunari invasion should destroy the current status quo.

While this is a good point, you have to consider that after this demon invasion, the writers will undoubtedly up the ante in a future title.  Maybe not the next, but eventually... so what's it going to be?  Another supernatural threat?  The sixth Blight?  I'd say that a full scale Qunari invasion is the kind of extinction-level threat this series seems to gravitate towards.  If we lay the foundation for a continent-wide peackeeping organization in Inquisition, we may find our group pitted against the Qunari on multiple fronts in the near future...

edit:  I'm not saying that we should be able to route them, chase them back to Par Vollen, and sack their capital in a single game, but fending off an invasion and perhaps taking Seheron may be possible.

Plus there have been so many juicy decisions that would further help or hinder this invasion should it occur.  Imagine all those times we helped the Qunari in previous games coming back to bite us in the ass.  OMG the possibilities are just too delicious.

Well the Blights always had a convenient an "off button" and by the Fifth Blight there was already precedent for a single hero's efforts stopping them with Garahel.

I dunno, I'm not quite convinced Tevinter is in a position to be a real enemy like that.

I''m sure a Qunari invasion is somewhere on Bioware's wall of crazy.  Don't really think they have specific plans for the fourth game yet, however.  They're still trying to get the third game out for release.

Are you kidding me, they already had preliminary idea for this one when Origins came out.  Of course they started work on the next game already.  In fact by the nature of choices having consiquences in the next game, they HAVE to have been working on it while creating this one.

It'd be awesome!  Maybe set in Tevinter and the northern countries, as well as seeing a bit in the Qunari lands.

Not kidding, they don't make final decisions about the next game until the current one is out the door.  The fourth Dragon Age is probably still in the exists only as a series of potential stories written on a dry-erase board.

I guarantee they have a lot more than that done by the nature of the inter-connectivity of these games.

I would love to see the Qunari invasion as the plot for a future DA title! Such warfare, much destruction, wow :-)

Is it something you'd like to see?  Maybe I like things how they are, but if Qunari don't get more content about them then yes, everyone will have to die so we can have full on Qunari games
