I'm with you OP

a Qunari Invasion would be perfect for DA:4 as many have pointed out Thedas will be in a very vulnerable state after all that demons stuff

a perfect opportunity for Sten (the Arishok in my playthrough) to lead his Qun Brothers to war against Thedas

I would love that

Makes me wonder...  If Sten dies and so does the Arishok in 2, then who's the Arishok?

Another Sten, but with less experience in dealing with non-Qunari, probably.

Most of my Sten's survived and left with completely respect for my warden.  This is a scarey thing, because it means he will not underestimate his foes, as he's seen what we are capable of...

If Sten died in DAO and the Arishok died in DA2 then the role of the new Arishok is Tallis. Please don't hurt me BSN.

If he survives being left in the cage to die, I'm done.  That's one too many unlikely survivals and blatant resurrections for me.

It's pretty likely though... off-screen deaths rarely count in fiction.  It wouldn't be nearly as bad as a flat out resurrection when you see the character die... like

Spoiler
in Mass Effect.  Thankfully the ME team went a different route and created a new character to use in the event that the other one died... and it worked in 2 sequels.  They could just as easily have said that Shepard didn't check the body.  -_-  For all the flaws of ME, they handled this aspect brilliantly in most cases...

Well Dragon Age literally resurrects people you butcher with a sword...  Like the Warden is the type to make mistakes on whether they killed someone with a sword.

Hopefully they stick with race options for every following game, because playing as a Vashoth character fighting the Qun would be awesome.

I'm hoping that the next game will be a civil war in Tevinter. I would love it if after centuries of war with the Qunari then the eventual failure of the Venatori leaves Tevinter weak and ripe for the final fall of the Magisters. You would be either a slave whose Master died, a newly freed slave who was lucky enough to have magical talent and therefore a newly minted Laetan, or a member of the Dwarven Ambassadoria being targeted by the carta.

At the end of the game while fighting for control of Minrathous, within the Circle of Magi, former Temple of Razikale, fighting the First Enchanter and one of the Juggernaut Golems. Alternatively, they could be fighting in the Argent Spire, tearing down the Imperial Chantry and killing the Black Divine and one of the Juggernaut Golems. In the throes of victory at the defeat of one of the great rulers of the Imperium, as well at the defeat of one of the trio of Juggernaut Golems who defend the walls of Minrathous, cannon fire is heard.

The game ends with Minrathous in the hands of the rebels, facing the full might of the Qunari invasion in Minrathous when it has never been weaker. As the full fleet is revealed, it is clear that with the damage done by the rebellion that Minrathous will finally fall to the Qun.

Credits roll.

That ending alone is awesome, but it makes decisions in the game irrelevant as any effects they'd have had ends then and there.

Which is also one of the big problems with mass effect three.  We spend all this time doing all these amazing things making these galaxy spanning changes, and then the ending decimates the galactic society effectively nullifying anything you did prior to the ending.

I kind of like the idea that Tevinter is immortal in a way. That everyone expects them to fall but they're a shockingly stable society.

If you let Sten die in DAO then I am the Arishok in Inquisition.  I will welcome you with open arms as long as you respect the Qun.  Lay waste to everything that crosses your path and bring cookies and you will be welcome.  There is a tournament coming up and if you can win it the prize is a massively upgraded Asala with 3 rune slots in remembrance of the great Sten who was lost during the Blight.  If you do not wish for a 2 handed sword then I will give you Basalit-an chest armor that is the best chest armor in the game.  Submit to the Qun and I will be the one that judges your roll in the Qun thus I will travel with you   I am a 36 (yes 36) Reaver and I dual wield an Empress Point and a new weapon not yet announced in DAI.  Yes I can dual wield 2 handed weapons....true Qunari can.  (only warriors).

I have asked the Question....what is Liliana like on a personal level.  Help me answer this and I will repay you with your own ship stocked with gaatlok, matching sails for your Skyhold and 3 groups of Beresaad to use as you will for the duration of the conflict.  I'm a kick ass Arishok.

I've been expecting a Qunari Invasion but i don't see it occurring immediately after the breach, after all whom is to say that the breaches are isolated to Fereldan and Orlais? I have heard nothing of that nature from the devs.

Just from that? I wouldn't be surprised if the Breaches opened over the Imperium, Nevarra and Par Vollen.

It seems to me about like the Oblivion Crisis, while the PC never hears about the gates opening outside of Cyrodil during the game, it still happened, The Summerset Isles, Morrowind, Highrock and Blackmarsh also had gates open in their provinces.

So i wouldn't be surprised if the Qunari were reeling from the breach as well.

It would be interesting to see that since, if I recall correctly, the Qunari have never had to weather a blight. What would an invasion of a demonic, almost unending horde do to them and how would they cope?

But then again, I would like to see a Qunari invasion in it's full might, no longer stymied by having their Arishok cut off from the other rulers (I am afraid that their titles escape me at this moment).

Tallis can't be Arishok if she's part of the Priesthood.

I suspect that a Qunari Invasion would have to start with the removal of the Imperium and the capture of Tevinter, otherwise it would have an enemy at it's flank and that hurt them badly during the last war.

But the problem with that is, the fall of the Imperium would likely be witnessed across Thedas, Antiva, Nevarra and even Orlais trades with them.

There really can be no surprise for Thedas, and that is something that would be critical for a successful Qunari Invasion, But the problem we face here is we do not know the number of ships the Qunari possess, nor their number of troops.

I couldn't even tell you if they have the logistical basis or manpower to conquer Thedas.

They failed utterly last time, in no small part due to just the sheer numeric superiority of Thedosians.

I've often given thought to what the Qunari would do differently in a second invasion in order to find a winning strategy. As strong as they were last time, they weren't really able to defeat the combined armies of humanity and spent two thirds of the war in a slow retreat.

I'd probably start with a surprise attack on Llomerryn to cripple the Felicisima Armada and then instigate a large scale slave rebellion to coincide with a massive invasion of Tevinter. That might be enough to finally bring down Minrathous so they can move on to the rest of Thedas. Rivain and Antiva will probably fall with minimal resistance, and if their agents are able to keep Orlais and the Chantry weak or destabilized they might be able to prevent the same scale of counter attack that halted them in the first war.

I'm inclined to think the Qunari are blowing a lot of smoke either way.

The big problem I see with a Qunari invasion is I really wouldn't feel all that great about killing them versus demons or Darkspawn.

They're just people.

It's a war, not heroism and while heroism can exist in war--it's more often a tragedy.
