Yep Yep Yep.

My warden was a female human mage named Theresa.

My Oliver Hawke is a Force mage (I love that class) with some elemental ice magic flair thrown in.

And my Taerel Lavellan is a Knight Enchanter and totally rocking it.

I love playing as mages and I rarely play as anything else, though I did reroll Oliver as a rogue a while ago, just to see what it was like... so far I'm still meh about it :P

It amuses me, because in Elder Scrolls games I will always play a sneaky archer type, and avoid using magic as much as possible.

I like games that let me play like a "pure" mage in opposition to a warrior who happens to have some spells at disposal.

And will your inquisitor be one as well?  My warden and Hawke are both mages in my canon and I plan to make my inquisitor one as well.  It's just how I play through good games: first, blind playthrough as a rogue-type and last, 'canon' playthrough as mage-type.  Unfortunately, it means Thedas is going to see 3 famous and influential mages in a span of 20 years, all of whom mysteriously disappear when things wind down.

Warriors and rogues have this problem, but to a less pronounced extent since warrior are common and rogues can be DW or archer.  Am I the only one who does this?

For me.

Female Elven Mage Grey Warden

Female Human Mage Hawke

Female Qunari Mage Inquisitor

I'm contrived like that.

Everyone knows that giant fireballs and shock atronachs are not very stealthy means of dealing damage.

Bows are precise, silent and deadly. So it makes more sense to avoid destruction and conjuration altogether.

If a game has mages, it's always my canon character.

slightly off: oddly enough, I find myself enoying my non canon characters much more.

For instance, in DA:I, I just finished a run with a devout Andrastian. I really liked this, in spite of my general dislike of anything religious. It really helped that the game registers your inquisitor is religious, and this gives you new options in judgement or changes some scenes (most notably the Fade scenes with 'the Divine')

I cant speak for anyone else, but for me, I have multiple canon games, and it is better than restricting myself to 1 game. But yes, in one world-state I have 3 mage PCs (I never leave the Warden dead prior to Awakening).

I also have a world state where 3 PCs are warriors. Eventually my 3rd playthrough will have 3 rogues, and my 4th will have 1 of each class.

All mages. I love mages. They always get the best stories imo.

Like almost Templar + mage romance
Like mage helping mages
Like ex-Templar + mage romance and so on

I just seem to always find it more fulfilling to actually play a mage in these games.

All of my canons are mages and they are all female.  Also, outside of DA2 where I was forced, all of my characters were also elves.

I have 3 canon saves as of this point, so much content. One is human male mage romance with Morrigan - Female Hawke mage - romance Anders (viva la resistance) and female elf mage - romance with Solas (sadface).

Neither are.

My Warden is a female Dalish archer, while my Hawke is a female rogue.

I have three playthroughs right now in Inquisition:

  1. Dwarven lady, sword and shield. Champion.
  2. Female Lavellan, archer.
  3. Male Adaar, archer (my hotquisitor, from the nightmare playthrough).

I still plan to also have two andastrian human characters (one male and female), as soon as I finish the nightmare playthrough.

Still not sure which one will be my canon Inquisitor in the end, but probably the dwarven champion.

When I DM the pen and paper RPG, the canon warden is a female Amell, while Hawke is female rogue (though my players haven't heard of her yet).

Nope. My warden was a duel weapon rogue (female), my Hawke was a mage (female) and I haven't decided on a canon for inquisition yet, but it will either be one of my rogues or my warrior (and possibly male for the first time  :o )

Originally yes, but I felt the Hawke story in Kirkwall was not consistent with being a mage Hawke. Besides, it was too harsh to see his sister die in the prologue. So I have now a female elf mage HoF, a male fighter Hawke and a female elf mage inquisitor. Both females having had a tragic romance (Allistair not hardened and sacrificed, Solas gone); since DAO, I am a sucker for tragic female romances - so much more greek drama!

Yep; my canon Warden is a Spirit Healer/Arcane Warrior and my canon Hawke is a Creation/Spirit Healer/Force Mage. These women are freaking unstoppable.  :D

My canon Inquisitor may be a mage too.

This.

I prefer world states in which there's class diversity, too, out of the misguided belief that if there were ever a Super Friends Team Up I'd want a balanced team. So my favorite world state has a DW rogue city elf Hero, mage Hawke, and 2H warrior qunari Inky. Another world state has human mage Hero, W/S warrior Hawke, and DW rogue Dalish Inky.

Yes. The Force is strong in the Amell family... I mean magic runs in the Amell bloodline.

My canon warden is a mage, but sadly had Alastiar break up with her, but happly got back with Zevran at the end of Da:O

My hawke were all Mages because hello raining firestorm is the bomb she romanced Anders and is in charge of Fiona army.

My Inquisitor is a former circle mage and the one to have killed the first enchanter because who would suspect the girl she saw as a daughter. ;) She was not someone to sit by and let her people be slaughtered. Also romanced Cullen.

I have initially said that my canon playable characters will be mages but now I think I will switch to rogues.

To accomplish all the things that our characters have to, they need to be practical and versatile. The best class for that is, rogues.
