Warden was a warrior while Hawke was a rogue.
My Inquisitor will be a mage, however.

My Warden and Hawke are both Dual Wielding Rogues. They nearly always are no matter how many play-throughs I play.
Female Dalish rouge in Origins, Male warrior in DA2... I think its time to start as a mage this time. Always enjoyed... for some reason i always play it "safe" with my first playthrough.
Not only they are mages they also have different races and backgrounds, the warden was an elf from the circle, hawke human apostate and my inquisitor is a mercenary qunari. This only happens in one of my multiple playthroughs though.
Canon Warden was a Dalish rogue. Canon Hawke was a mage. Personally, I've got a preference for rogue-types, but I felt that DA2's storyline was more engaging if you played the mage archtype. Unless they do that again, I probably won't play another one.
Might be more engaging, but also ridiculous.... very first thing you do in kirkwall is start firiing off spells in the middle of a courtyard full of templars... later on, even in front of Cullen, who must be a terrible templar...
Male human warrior warden. Male Hawke rogue.
My warden is Amell (arcane warrioir later) and Hawke is a mage too. My first(!) Inquisitor will be also human mage (hope there'll be some healing spec so together they'll be unstoppable). Although second inquisitor will totaly be a rogue.
Well my first playthroughs of both are. I thought about mixing it up a bit for DA2 but I think I am just gonna leave them more or less as they are now and mess around with the back story for other playthroughs.
My canon warden will be a female dwarf warrior, so no.
None of my Hawkes were mages because I don't like playing as a mage (for lore reasons). That said, I will probably make mage Hawke my canon for Inquisition, because it fit the stroy much better. Though they will have sided with the Templars, because I always made that choice.
No, both warden and hawke are rogues. The inquisitor will be rogue.

nope both were warriors I always thought that by picking mage I would be biased towards certain decisions
and I would rather keep an open mind
Head Canon: Male Cousland Warrior and Female Hawke Archer/Rogue.
Quizzie will be a Dalish Mage for variety... and the sheer splutter factor that the Herald of Andraste being an elven mage creates.
My Warden was a dwarf noble so obviously he wasn't a mage. Both him and Hawke were warriors (dwarf chose templars, while Hawke sided with mages) so now it's time for something different (qunari mage), so in my version Thedas had 2 influential warriors and 1 mage (never liked playing as rogue). Seems reasonable as non-mages should outnumber the magic users, which is usually the case in most fantasy settings.
Canon warden: Solona Amell - Mage (Arcane Warrior/Spirit healer). Romanced Alistair, placed him on throne, became his mistress. Alistair killed Archdemon. (Obviously Dark Ritual)
Canon Hawke: Warrior (Templar) pro-Templar (99% of time except Ser Alrik) then sided with Mages at the end of the game, but did kill Anders.
MageLife4evah! All mages. All. The. Time.
I don't really have a personal canon for the games. Still, I suppose I could answer "yes" since my favourite Warden was a mage, and I played at least 3 mage Hawkes based on that import, and I'll probably be trying to replicate one of those to use for DAI (and I'm pretty sure I'll be playing a mage first there as well).
My Warden was a Cousland, so nope - not given the option. Hawke was a mage, and my main Inquisitor is going to be a mage.
DA2 sold me on the class; I love the in-game references to your class being so significant to the plot.
No, not in my first playthrough at least.
My Warden was a male rogue Dalish who followed Morrigan through the eluvian.
Hawke was a female warrior who (strangely) fell for Merrill
For this playthrough I think I'll make a mage but I don't like them (games become too easy with them) that's why I usually start with warriors or rogues
But I have several playthroughs and because I would like to make a female warrior qunari as my Inquisitor first, I don't think I will take this one
I don't really consider any of my characters to be personal canon either, but the two I plan to continue on from for my first Inquisitor happen to both be mages. The Warden was the last one I played so she's a bit fresher in my mind is all, and I figure I'll just carry the Amell bloodline through my first world state.
My first Inquisitor will be an archer rogue, though. I love mages, but I'm a rogue at heart.
Nope, I don't really have a 'canon' storyline. I have a 'favorite' storyline as to what decisions were made, but they could have been made by any one of my umpteen different characters spread across all classes and playstyles.
I don't have canon versions of my characters. I live in a world of multiple paths and outcomes!
For my head canon I have the warrior Cousland and Hawke for me.
However I plan on playing as a mage with the Inquisitor and going for Knight Enchanter.
