Is it possible? I really enjoyed playing as a Rogue archer in DA 2. Is it possible to have that focus in DA:I as well?
I heard some rumor that there was not discipline like that in this game or something to that effect.

I think they've said that you can. In fact, I think the Rogue is once again the only character that can use a bow, but I'm not positive.
now the only question is when we will be able to play as a dual crossbow wielding rogue...repeating crossbows obviously
The rumor you heard was probably stemmed off the complaint that we can't have warrior archers like we could in DAO. We have all the same weapon restrictions DA2 had.
I was quite peeved at no Warrior Archers. Always been one of my favourite ways to play in any game
You can see Sera be an archer in multible gameplay videos, which means your character will be able to as well. There is no reason why they would suddenly remove that option now.
Archers are love! Archers are life!
I just hope that playing as an Archer is fun, and it's powerful. I remember having some trouble with a boss battle in DA2 because I was a rogue Archer.

Really? I found my archer powerful as hell honestly...
for the most exp (bang for buck) play through I was going to run the rogue so I can stealth in and disarm traps (+50exp). melee is how I also play the other 2.5 games, but I have always consider a bow. Always choose magic for my main range play character tho.
Sadly I barely switch between my other 3 welfare bums unless I died during combat.
Yea, I plan on being an archer too. I have read before on here that people think we will not be able to do a quick weapon swap to melee during combat? Anyone know if that is true?

May have been too low of a level in the first boss fight, I just found myself playing as a different character in tougher fights.

Not against the Arishok. All classes were screwed against the Arishok, to be fair, but archers had it particularly bad.
I had a pretty bad time against Loghain as a pure archer too. And I was one-shotting everything else at that point, but Loghain was hell.
I really hope bosses have been better balanced for all classes if you have to solo them again, because I'm rolling archer in my first playthrough and would appreciate not being stuck for fifty thousand years in more hellish fights like those this time around. ![]()

Still no word on that from my source.

Why was it that hard against Arishok. I thought it was the easiest class to beat the fight without resorting into metagaming along with mage. Running around the pillars to dodge his charges and do some safe damage during the animation lag and the decoys if you went shadow spec. I doubt that he could actually touch you. It just required some patience due to the goddamn potions ^^
With optimizing etc it's the worst class cause warriors and dw rogue can just oneshot him, but that's a whole separate issue ![]()

I certainly hope so, or else the multiplayer character "The Archer" will have an awfully hard time.

Honestly, one on one i would just swtich to duel welding, my crit stacking would of had him for breakfast. I think the smart choice for mages and archers is to make sure you get the all out brawl, so you can stick to your strengths.
I did go against him with a mage once, it resembled a benny hill stetch, just needed the music.

All classes ? Clearly you have not tried mage.
Mage Superiority ftw !
Yes you can play an archer focused rogue.

Enjoy your eight spell slots, mage scum.
