Great. It's confirmed.

I loved playing Archer in DA2, it felt powerful and you did a good amount of damage. Hopefully that stays the same.

I have a distinct feeling this will be the best DA game ever.  So much more depth in every single facet of the game.

The mage and two-hander look great as well.

*Cloaks and sneaks in*

*Backstabs the flustered mage*

*twin fangs if backstab does not finish it*

I win with three ability slots, every time, hehe. ROGUE FTW!

Yes you can play an archer focused rogue.

That was simple enough.

To add, the bows archers will be using in Inquisition now will have visible bowstrings. /little details

I hope the Archer Rogue has an arsenal of elemental/enchanted arrow heads to switch up before certain encounters. If not as an inventory item as an ability.

I'm fairly certain we've seen a video, although admittedly it was an earlier demo version, where Sera had frost and lightning skill icons available to her.

Hopefully they're still in :)

It'd be awesome if it was a crafted and expendable resource. Have them be extremely powerful, but rare or costly. That way it'd be up to the player's discretion when and where to use them.

Switching up to silverite arrow heads before engaging darkspawn or frost arrow heads before hunting a High Dragon also adds some tactical depth to gameplay.

Player wasn't using Gravitic Ring, a Nature Elemental Staff, and Deathroot Toxin/Arcane Poison.

My video would have looked like a very unfair bullfight with Hawke was the bullfighter.

The Arishok duel was super easy with Mage or a Rogue (either one). Fighting him as a Warrior though was pretty tough, pommel strike is the only ability that actually affects him lol

Constitution Build Warriors can out last him at least. If he's not spamming potions.

Nope.  Try using cleave and assail with a spirit based weapon.  There's a DLC spirit based axe I believe.  Basically it's: cleave, assail, assault, stonewall... rinse, repeat.

Archer is always my first choice! :) In DA:O I played a Warrior Archer, then a Rogue Archer. DA2 was stealth/shadow based archer, then assassin archer.

I found fighting the Arishok really hard for my Rogue Archer, but with my Mage it was super easy, I think I was running around like in the video as well.

Yeah, I was going to say that my easiest Arishok duel was with a gravity/heal spec'd mage with access to cone of cold and gravity ring.

Were people really able to one shot him though?

I didnt imply that it's impossible, but in comparison to mages or rogues who make the duel trivial, it can be pretty rough.

If I remember correctly I got through it on Nightmare by spamming pommel strike and bolster, and activating cleave any chance I had.

Yes.

I remember killing the Arishok before he was able to even touch me as a Mage. But then, I'm a completionist, so my characters always end up way over-leveled from all the backtracking I do, and my inability to progress past an area without making sure I KILL ALL THE THINGS first. I think my Mage was a combination Ice/Blood/Support Mage. Was a silly easy battle.

I'll be an archer then, since I despise dual wielding...

I just hope I won't screw party balance if I take another archer like Varric with me :(

It would be really neat to have something like the bonuses runes add to enchanted weapons.  Will bows be enchantable?  That one ability of Sera's looked pretty cool, where she accidentally wiped out the dragon.  The rogue DW inqisitor barely snuck in for the kill.  That might have been a focus ability, like the time warp of Vivienne's.

The thing with playing an archer, at least for me, is it doesn't work very well in third person. I don't find it quite as practical as other playstyles. In Skyrim where you can switch to first-person, I played as an archer pretty much 95% of the time. I would love to do the same in DA:I but I don't see myself getting there. I tend to go for dual-wield when playing as a Rogue for this reason.

Sheesh people...As EDI put is nicely: "That was a joke".

Speaking of archery, can we and by that the Inquisitor rogue archer, NOT have archery skill tree that sucks or is completely outshined by everything else ? Because that is what happened in Dragon Age 2.

In DA2, if you wanted to play as an archer effectively, one of the best ways to do it was to not spec into the archer tree at all. Additionally, both Varric and Sebastian have specialization trees that makes Hawke's base archery tree look like crap.

I hope the archery tree is viable and good in Inquisition. I also hope that we DO NOT have to switch to using daggers if we are in a CQC with an opponent. Instead we should be able to engage them in melee with the bow itself via bow bashing or bow strikes.

As for cosummables and craftables, I hope we can craft different types of arrows for different purposes. Frost arrows to put out fire & cause damage,  Fire arrows for DoT, Silverite / silver arrows for more effectiveness against undead / darkspawn, Andraste's arrows for mages.

I mean if Bioware wants to make rogue archer a properly effective class, just look at characters like Green Arrow, Hawkeye, Artemis and go from there. Not that difficult.

Also, Oliver Queen's Green Arrow costume, in all its green glory, could be adapted to make one badass Dalish hunter armor, no ?  :D

Buy desdemona's blade if you have the emporium. Proceed to oneshot him.
