Is it too late to change Cassandra's and Josephine's appearance?

I'm perfectly okay with people not thinking that female characters are attractive. Attractiveness, is after all, mostly down to personal taste.

What I do object too is someone stating their opinion as fact or as if their opinion is shared by the majority of players, when it clearly isn't

Aren't you doing the same? You don't know if his opinion is shared by the majority but still claiming that it "clearly isn't".

You don't even know how this forum thinks about the look and considering this forum is a special case and doesn't even represent 0.1% of the dragon age inquisition purchasers your statement is pure speculation, same as the OP.

I wonder if you're the same starduskLP from youtube complaining about all the romance discussion and the immature fans who talk about it. Nah, no one could be that much of a hypocrite.

I'm basing my opinion on the number of people who have said that they like how Cassandra and Josephine look, which on this forum seems to be the majority.

You are right though, I miss spoke, I should've said people on this forum rather than players. I sometimes forget that the BSN doesn't make up the majority of players discussing these topics

Thank you for the correction.

I fail to see how you can say that, but sure, knock yourself out.

So you really fail to see how someone saying that modding shouldn't be allowed because the people who mod their game may do it in a way that I don't like, even if it doesn't effect my gaming experience in any way but makes theirs better, is selfish and childish?

I never said that. I said that people hated appearance mods because of things like the White Isabella mod. Don't concoct words out of thin air and put them in my mouth.

You are right. I have to apologize. I thought this statement

I truly hope that appearance modding will be either be very difficult or impossible. The less Barbie dolls masquerading as characters the better.

was your's.

No more hostility there is enough on the Internet and the real world. Anyway I think that everyone will look better when they are in game.

I agree with you OP

I hate what they did to Cassandra in DA:I, she looked beautiful in DA2 she was already a strong warrior type of woman back then

why maker soo masculine to show that?
And Josephine may be great but I just want my LI to fight alongside me

Female Players are very lucky they have much more variety and get very handsome LI's (looking especially at Cullen who looks much better than previous games)

I would have swapped Sera for Cassandra and Josephine in an instant even if I had only one LI available

What straight, heterosexual male likes middle aged, manly faced, short haired women? A profound minority. It is not about personal taste so much as it is about what most straight heterosexual males like. I have no problem playing a lesbian inquisitor for the elf Sera so it is not a total loss but very strange how Bioware made these females so unattractive.

Lol.

That's the problem with most straight men: they generalize WAY too much.

Surprise, not every straight dude out there thinks like you. It's your own personal tastes and leave it at that.

Why it is that it's always a dude who whines about appearance. Correct me if i'm wrong but I've never read any thread about ladies not finding the dudes hot in the game or at least making 43654745687675 threads and complain about it.

I am gauging it by universal, evolutionary standards. Though we all have individual taste, we all evolved to like certain things as universals. Of course there will be exceptions to taste but most heterosexual men do not like short haired, masculine looking women. As for female taste, money and status are of greater importance to heterosexual women than physical appearance but since that is not a factor in a game, being tall for one is important. That is a female universal. Very, very few women will choose a short man over a tall one, all things being equal. Regardless, if mods can change the appearance, then none of this will be a problem anyway.

There's only been one biological marker for Beauty, and that's symmetry as a signal of genetic health. Don't bring out your optimized eugenics crap with evolutionary biologists lurking in the forum and expect to pass it off as an actual science.

There was a woman complaining about how the women were so much better looking than the men. I don't think I've seen one since though.

Yeah, I think nobody has told the OP that only the opinion that the female characters are beautiful is allowed and anybody who doesn't think so has to shut up. Obviously his fault.

Nah, not liking them is absolutely fine, it's all down to personal taste but saying bioware should actually go out of their way to make them into the "universal" ideal of attractiveness because the OP personally doesn't find them attractive as they currently are, is just petty.

A lot of UFC fighters are starting to be sex symbols though. I'm just surprised I still see junk like this.

I mean, Cassandra looks almost like a slightly older Gina Carano. How much hotter can you get? The woman could crush my skull between her thighs. <3

Great minds think alike lol

If I decide to romance at all I will just go with the lesbian Sera option. Consider doing the same.

I didn't realise the *player* had to be attracted to the character for the *Inquisitor* to be able to romance them.

Evidently, I'm doing it wrong.

Speaking strictly of beauty that is sort of true but you are ignoring the fact that there is indeed an optimised waist-hip ratio for women, though that could be subsumed under general symmetry. The symmetrical standards for the sexes are similar but are significantly different as well in some respects, as befits a sexually dimorphic species.

I am hoping that they look better in game.

But so far....

Cassandra looks to have been beat with the same man-nification stick that hit Aveline, and that constant i'm pissed off look on her face doesn't help.

Viv looks like a scarran female from farscape.

Sera is cuteish but she needs to find the barber that gave her that haircut and cut his thumbs off so he cant do it again.

An interesting position and one you should share with gay men who are only left with females to romance...since the player being attracted to the character is irrelevant, it follows that sexual orientation is irrelevant in romances, at least based on what you have to say.

yeah maybe even though I don't want to roll a female Inquisitor just to romance Sera

This might be the first Bioware game where I won't romance anyone good thing that DA:I has a lot more to offer

Man I really miss Leliana and Isabella (my romance options before)
