And Captain Marvel/Shazam, Wonder Woman, Captain Atom, Supergirl, Power Girl...

Hell Doctor Fate could probably drop a really heavy Magic Ankh on Supes and that'd work.

Don't know Captain Marvel or Atom, but the others will eventually lose against Superman. Only Green Lantern can make a draw with him.

Superman - Wonder Woman marriage (Fantastic Four style) for the next DC movie!

Hal was willpower. But no imagination.

That'll be his downfall. So no.

I'd say Power Girl could do it because out of all these chumps she has the most experience.

Supes could take all of them except probably the Atom if he was Sun-dipped.

And?

That doesn't exactly add anything to the conversation. I never denied the SunnyD. So it was really just a pointless thing to say.

Kryptonite still isn't off the table. Remember in MoS the World Engine shot out Kryptonian particulates that severely ****ed with Kal-El's biology as well as Earth's ecology. If Lex Luthor or Bruce Wayne salvages and reverse engineers the World Engine they're that much closer to creating 'synthetic Kryptonite'.

Agreed, I feel like they left a big enough door open for this to still work. Otherwise, they just made the most ridiculously overpowered character in comic book history get away without having ANY weakness. Which is bad.

I hope they don't screw up that episode.  This season of Arrow has been disappointing.

Synder is definitely going to need something to even the odds in fight between Lex/Superman/Batman, but using kryptonite seems really over-used and predictable. Hopefully they'll think outside the box and make the fight more interesting then using a green rock.  If not we're probably just getting Superman Returns feat. Batman.

While I haven't watched the show I will say that they screwed up by bringing Ra's al Ghul into the show entirely.

He's primarily one of Batman's main villains, and while he may interfere with other DC characters he's still linked more with Batman.

Well since Superman's only real weakness is kryptonite they're really going to have to think of a good counter to Superman that doesn't seem flimsy.

It's one of the problems with having a hero like Superman. There's only so far you can go before everything just becomes too ridiculous.

They probably did it because they know Batman has the most famous villains in DC comics, most for good reason.

I sort of got the same feeling when they brought in Deathstroke.  They're just trying to snag up the best villains whether they make sense or not.

Ever since Smallville, WB seems to want to make Green Arrow a tv Batman. So I am not surprised we're getting Batman characters in Arrow.  I wouldn't be surprised if Nightwing pops up next season.

Maybe red sunlight and magic might be too far out there for this movie franchise. They could always go the Doomsday method, just keep superman busy until his energy reserves run out.

Smallville had the problem of the Bat Embargo to deal with (Otherwise known as the stupidest idea a company has ever made, ever. Yes, worse than Spider-Mans deal with Mephisto). So Batman couldn't be used in the show (the creators mentioned they did want Batman originally). Green Arrow is a good replacement though, different in ideology, but similar in premise. Billionaire vigilantes that run mega corporations, and are inspired by classic film serials (Robin Hood and Zorro).

I don't watch Arrow. But I can see why they'd want him more Batman-like, DC has always tried to make Green Arrow popular. He had alot of Justice League Unlimited episodes dedicated to him after all, and now he has a popular show (Probably the most out of DCs TV Line-up. Since many don't share my love of Constantine). So it's working in some right to use him as a Batman Expy. Makes it easier to latch onto a character that's similar to another, more popular one.

Considering Wonder Womans origin is really out there (She's a clay person the greek gods gave superpowers too) Magic isn't too outta left field.

@Heimdall

Also Deathstroke is hardly a Batman villain. He started out fighting the Titans, so he's not exempt from fighting anyone else.

New 52 wonder woman is just a demi-god. They can roll with that origin.

And you can tell which one I prefer. The demi-god thing used to be Wonder Girls origin, don't know if they changed it or not because New 52 Teen Titans was awful and I didn't read it.

However, it still doesn't make my point any less valid. Either origin doesn't take magic off the table.

It's a more palpable origin because she's just female Hercules to a new audience based on her origin. Much easier to wrap your mind around. Doesn't take a lot of buy in to accept - in a single separate continuity - that the Greek gods exist. That's how the New 52 comic wonder woman title works, though other comics sort of try and act as if that story is happening in the regular DC continuity (e.g. like Supes/WonderWoman).

I think wonder girl had some weird cursed armour origin. I've also stayed away from new TT titles so I dunno what they've cooked up.

Totally forgot about Wonder Woman. Yeah, if they use her origin then they are probably tossing the grounded approach. Still, I don't really see Lex or Batman using magic as their preferred method for fighting superman, especially on their first movie together.

Wonder Woman in the DCU is probably hundreds of years old (on the low) and has been serving as an 'ambassador' for Themyscira. When Kal-El wrecks a quarter of Metropolis in a scuffle with Zod she takes it upon herself to investigate.

Were this the Pre-After Earth part of Smiths career I'd be excited. It isn't though.

I think Will Smith has enough charisma to pull off Deadshot.
