Probably the comically bad writing, horrible art direction, ugly animations, Korean F2P MMO-tier combat, generic enemies, bloated UI, **** voice acting etc.

The hell are you doing here then?

Anyways, I'm going with the story.

I have high doubts that the story will be any good.

The STORYTELLING will probably be stellar but Bioware has been just utter balls when it comes to the overall plot.

Basically like a mass effect fiasco, lots of promises but none are delieverd, to much commercial which tells you they are compensating for something.

But in overall......

If they have made promises then they are bound to keep them

What an odd thing to say. I don't know a single person who was happy with that botched photoshop of 'Tali'.

Back on topic, I don't see anything wrong with Cassandra either. People should wait til they meet her in game to draw opinions maybe.

Reading the rest of this thread, to answer the OP, romance options appears to be the biggest complaint.

We have met her, haven't we?

She's the same woman who pulls a knife on Varric, stabs books, and in the trailer pulls a sword on the protagonist. We also had a whole freaking movie about her threatening people and stabbing things. I get that some folks think that's hot. I don't, and the steady stream of dudes making whine threads tells me I am not alone.

What I've seen of her does not fill me with confidence that she's going to be very appealing as a romance. What she looks like is less important to me than the personality. Cassandra may have mellowed out since DA2, but I doubt it.

I've never said that I'm being unfairly treated or anything like that,  but I get why people are upset. The revelation that one of the female LIs was an NPC from the get-go, and gay men and straight women were always going to have 2 Companions is frustrating too. Didn't the ME team get enough flak for Traynor and Cortez to know NPC LIs were going to cause problems?

Maker. How is a ****-stabbing, short-tempered warrior goddess in behearted armor not the dream? I'm starting to think you guys have been paid off by BW to troll all the women who wanted to romance Cass with their Femquisitors.

That aside, the advisers are not like Traynor and Cortez, they have as much dialogue as the companions and the Inquisitor interacts with them on a fairly regular basis. This is something that I would seriously hold off on complaining about, as every indication is that Josephine and Cullen's romances are pretty awesome and definitely on the same level as the others.

That it isn't the Witcher or that it is made by "EAware". If we are going to go for amount of people complaining.

If it is about the game itself, I guess they may have made the mistake of spreading too thin by trying to do too many things with the game making the experience shallow. But I haven't played the game yet so I don't know.

I think only being able to may eight abilities at once seems to be the most likely thing we know about that will really annoy people. Things like stoy are too subjective, some people will always like it and some people will always hate it.

As for companions there may be an 'Adners' who is near universally despised, but I don't know who it would be. Could be like Origins where most of the companions were generally well-liked.

I also hated Rivalmances, thought Morrigan was vile, and thought Miranda Lawson was thoroughly unimpressive. I like girls that, y'know, smile and stuff. Or are funny. Or sweet. Or at the very least can communicate without knives. :(

And that may be true, but all of that ignores the fact that having your LI with you is half of the appeal in the first place for some people. Actual Romance content outside of banter takes up, what?, ten minutes of screen time over the course of the game? A drop in the bucket of a 150 hour game.

If NPC romances are going to become a thing, I hope they become the bonus Romances. Make sure everyone has a choice from among companions. After all, it was literally just one Advisor romance before the expansion. Next time, maybe they can not paint themselves into a corner with the male to female ratio of companions and make sure the 2/2/2 is from among them.

Meh. If she threatened people in a charmingly apologietic way, or stabbed things with snappy one-liners, it would be better.

Scowly McAngryface just makes it extra unappealing.

There might be another decision where you have to choose between executing a criminal or letting him go free. Apparently, nobody in Thedas has heard of a jail. This pissed me off in DA:O with Loghain, Jowan, and others. I mean, sometimes death is too extreme a solution. Disproportionate retribution in the highest order. Now, if we were talking about Howe, then sure, you can execute him. He's just an unrepentant murderer.

And then on the other side of the coin, you don't want to have to just let them get off scott free. What kind of message does it send if he doesn't get punished for his crimes?

What I said was a choice from among the companions. Straight Women and Gay Men's options are both Companions. Straight men and Lesbians are a Companion and an NPC. This was before the year extension of development time. If you don't like your one Companion option, then your only other choice is the character you have to leave at base for the majority of the game's content. Which some of us think devalues the romance.

It would be a moot point if the bisexual female option were a Companion.

Again, Bioware doesn't owe anyone anything, but these are all factors that are leading to the endless series of complaint threads. If Bioware cares about what their fans want (And I think the evidence that they do care is everywhere), they should factor things like this in for the future.

Literally every character in the game is an NPC, except the player character. That's what the term means. ;)

Of course, I realize you meant follower. I never understood the objection to Traynor and Cortez either. They had the same amount of content as the companions. Josephine and Cullen will probably have more than Traynor/Cortez as well anyway. These are quite different games. Personally I see little point in complaining about content we haven't seen yet.

Yes we met Cassandra in DA2, but only saw her in interrogation mode, and by the last chapter, she had softened considerably. Varric even accused her of hero worship or something like that.

Yes, it is. There have been people on twitter acting like they didn't know you could play as a dude (as if) to the point where Alix had to clarify that you could. I've seen several youtube comments complaining about the use of female protags in the demos, and during E3 there was regular whining that they weren't showing enough male inquisitors. It has definitely been an issue and, if the female Inquisitor is featured in any of the upcoming trailers, I expect for it to be an even bigger issue because of all the ridiculous LI drama.

I suspect there are lots of people who follow Alix on twitter who know nothing about Bioware or DAI because they follow her for other reasons, so it's not surprising there are some questions like that.

This thread is about what people will complain about once the game comes out. Presumably everyone who has the game will know you can play male or female, and the demo videos will be long forgotten.

is anyone really surprised about idiot comments on youtube? It goes with the territory.

The Objection is the fact that they aren't with us for 95% of the game. That the actual romance content for any character is miniscule, and that's okay because at least we get to take them on our adventures with us. Unless we can't. It's extra galling in this case because Cullen wasn't even slated to be a Core Romance. Only straight guys and gay girls were getting an Advisor as a Core romance. After the Traynor/Cortez feedback they had.

Haven't they said you have a dungeon you can imprison people in? I'm kind of excited about the judgment mechanism, I hope it allows for all kinds of different approaches to justice.

The one thing that stands out to me is the 8 slot limit. I know we've complained enough about it but it's the only thing I'm genuinely concerned about.

I'm suspecting that a few people, myself included, are going to be disappointed that no Origins characters are recruitable party members.

Just seems an odd exclusion when they are bringing Varric, from Dragon Age II, back as a party member.
