Would you say that sparing Loghain is the "good" choice? Oh and what about the Crime Wave side quest, should I avoid that?
Edit: Also, why would a "good" warden harden Leliana?(not saying that it's wrong to do that)
In cases like this I help myself by using the old AD&D-alignement system:
In general I try to be "good".
To execute Loghain because of all the "evil" deeds he committed, would be a "lawful good" action in my eyes.
Many other decisions I'd consider "chaotic good", such as trusting Morrigan ("good") and agreeing to the Dark Ritual ("chaotic").
The Crime Wave would be "chaotic good", too, as long as you don't kill innocent bystanders, such as guards during the first part. Even when it is considered a "crime", a "chaotic good" character doesn't do it because he likes to be a criminal, but because he wants to advance his greater goal (e.g. saving the world). Admittedly a borderline case, though.
BTW, I still think, that this old alignement system was a good thing: Simple but sufficient enough, to categorize someone's basic values.
