Hello everyone :)

So what is everyone's thoughts on what this specialisation is all about?
What does the name Tempest invoke in your imagination? What are you hoping to see?

I personally think this spec may actually have something to do with harnessing elemental properties to boost damage and damage type. Say apply an frost or lightning effect to deal chilled, frozen and stunned effects to enable combos.

I think the tempest is a rogue that moves fast, like a tempest. In DA:A, tempest runes gave you ranged defence.

High attack speed could be part of the specialization. Faster you attack, the higher your dps and the faster you kill enemies and reduce incoming dps.

Only thing I can speculate that makes sense is that tempest will be the resilient spec. Perhaps a blend of shadow and duelist, or something new entirely.

The specialization archetypes seem to fit the support/tactical-meatshield-dps trinity. Respectively

Warrior Templar/Champion/Reaver

Rogue Artificer/Tempest/Assassin

Mage Necro/KE/Rift

I may be wrong, but I can't think of something else that makes sense with the current info.

Either a mage/rogue combo like Arkane/Spirit warrior and Knight Enchanter or a upfront meele rogue that moves as fast as a tempest.

I remember really liking Tallis's Templar/Rogue spec thing she had going on, so it'd be cool if they did something similar with a spec that the Inquisitor could actually use!

This is what I'm hoping for, increased DPS through speed rather than back stabs.

Given the mulitplayer characters seem to be three specializations and one archtypical role, the image of the hunter could either be a jack of all trades or tempest related.

With archer included they may have listed two specializations and two jacks leaving tempest out for now. Upon further review the other classes could go either way if keeper is spirit related instead of rift mage.

The tempest logo looks a lot like the mage ones so I presume it's a mixture of mage and rogue and probably intended for Cole.

Tempest is a Rogue specialization in DA:I, though in DA:O it was a spell among other things.

On topic: I would guess tempest is in some ways akin to KE and that it has a very specific set of criteria that changes how you use the Rogue... a lot. Of course this is just speculation.

I never played Rogue so I wouldn't know . But to me it sounded like an elemantalist...so maybe it could be a mage abilitie .

Well I think it's almost definitely Sera's specialisation, so I'm hopeful it will work well with archers.

Tempest could either refer to initial definitions of;

1) swiftness/speed

2) thunder/lightning

It could either be a Rogue ability that incorporates magical or magic-like abilities, sort of what Cole will likely have, specifically pertaining to lightning damage.

Or could it simply be a specialization that focuses on fast strikes, momentum, and maximum DPS. For example, you can activate a momentum talent that momentarily (sorry for the redundancy) boost your damage per hit, with each hit stacking damage/attack points, however it drains stamina with each hit.

It's a good alternative to the Assassin specialization in my opinion, for Assassin at its core is more about hitting the absolute HARDEST you could, as opposed to quick dps strikes which Tempest seems to imply.

My personal 2 cents on the specialization ^ granted we have 0 info on it and can only speculate based its name and context in relation to the other specializations.

I'm expecting speed-based abilities and passives that can apply to both dual wield and bows.  Maybe a short duration, DA:O Momentum-style active with some Dexterity bonuses among the passive skills.

They said they would, sometime in the next few weeks.

I'm just impatient.

Oh no, you misunderstand. The Tempest specialization means specializing in Shakespeare's The Tempest. The initial power is the ability to perform The Tempest for your enemies, bedazzling them with the tale of Prospero and the revenge he seeks against those who stole his throne and exiled him. As you progress through the skill tree your production furthers with such skills as "Summon Theater" and "No guys we actually did the research. Ariel is male" till you reach the ultimate power of a full on the spot production of this darkhorse production that will amaze your enemy's into submission.

It's basically the Bard specialization but actually useful.

well, assassin seems to be the dual wield spec, and i would assume artificer could be either weapon, as it sounds like a support open locked chests class....  so i would go with a ranged type....  i want it to be dual wield though....
