Amen, it wouldn't make any sense for the Inquisition to be lead by a bunch of barely legal teenagers. Having several characters be mid 30s+ just makes sense since the Inquisition is going to need to be staffed by professionals with leadership experience.

I'm guessing the legal age in most places in Dragon Age would be around 10, if there is any.

In middle ages the concept of a "teen" was a very "vague" one at best. A kid at the age of 13-15 was often considered and adult. Dragon Age seems a bit inspired by those times so you're somewhat right.

I'd still rather play a character at around 25-30 years this time. Someone not as much experienced, thrown into the chaos and stress of leading an organization that's supposed to stop the demon invasion. Plus I want to try out the mentor/student banter with Blackwall and feel like my companions are there for my Inquisitor as much as he is for them. Playing a veteran wouldn't let me try that out without breaking the character of my PC.

If a boy in Lowtown says he's 15 but looks like a man, he probably isn't one "legally."

Just for the Record, there are People even on these Forums who do prefer younger love Interests and are thus rather... disappointed. I have very much enjoyed Alistair and Merrill (and because of their, say, Inexperience, their Romance Paths are enjoyable to me).

I can understand that many people are happy because the Companions and LIs tend to be older this Time around - and yes, from my 18-Year old Perspective "above 30" is "old" in Terms of romantic Partners.

But I find it disappointing that there doesn't seem to be that one "inexperienced" / "young" Romance Option this Time around - we had that in Alistair and Merrill and there are surely more Takes on that and I don't think it was a great idea, to move the Age Range generally up.

Just my two Cents. Be happy, older People. You got lucky this Time.

As myself and others pointed out, age doesn't really mean much.  Someone can be inexperienced, or seem much younger than their years, despite their age.  For instance, while I know Cullen has come a long way, he's still pretty inexperienced when it comes to love and romance.   Or Cassandra, through her years of being a Seeker, could be the same way.  They are both in their mid-late 30s, from fan estimations, but your Inquisitor could be more comfortable and experienced with expressing love and sexual desire than they would be.  Even if you are shooting for an Inquisitor in their late teens to early 20s.

Also, I'm not sure if you're aware that this isn't really about older people "getting lucky."  The average age of a gamer is actually  31 years old, and the companions (as well as the romances) reflect that.

I have no problem with the age ranges of the companions, and am looking forward to role playing various different aged PC's to mix and match the LI's with.  Just because I am old as the hills doesn't mean my PC's have to be.

I also think in games as in reality think age is largely a number, I have met 30 year old that are less mature than my 14 year old niece. You love who you love, having common goals and beliefs are more important than being a matching number.  Though this all might just be an excuse to make a nice young little mageling to tempt Cullen with.  :D
