Nothing comprehensive, just some good shows that I don't think anyone has mentioned:
WKRP in Cincinnati (Season 1)
- DO NOT WATCH PAST SEASON 1
- Because of copyright issues, you can't legally watch the first season, anymore, except when it is syndicated on network TV. Not that I'm hinting that anyone should try and find illegal copies.
- This show was so far ahead of its time that the rest of TV wouldn't catch up for over ten years.
Rome
- Awesome show, cancelled before its time (dat budget...)
Prisoners of Gravity
- Total geek and nerd stuff. We're talking interviews with Harlan Ellison, type of thing.
Mystery Science Theater 3000
- Being forced to deliberately spell that wrong hurt.
- Start out looking for one of the "classics" like Pod People, Mitchell, or The Devil's Hand (Best choice: This Island Earth, AKA "Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Movie."

I will once again recommend LUTHER, as no one acknowledged it the first time. It's so much better than 99% of the generic american cop shows.

Right now my favorite show on Television is probably The Strain. It's an atmosphere heavy horror-drama about a mysterious
Spoilerplague that spreads across New York. It takes a Heroes approach to character's plot, with a lot of characters being within their self-contained story until their paths cross. What I enjoy about it the most though is how they slowly piece together the Plague's greater purpose to you. They start you off with a simple concept of what this thing is, and slowly layer on more and more detail about what it really is.
Be warned though, it's not for the faint of heart. If you have a problem with blood you likely won't find yourself enjoying it.
This is my current addiction as well. And the gore warning is very much deserved. If you have a problem with the occasional gruesome scenes, stay away from the show.
Breaking Bad was also a great show where I enjoyed all the seasons.

If you put too many TV shows in one post, it makes it harder to give it a "like" or not. I would have used a lot more likes here because so many good shows are listed.

An older show, but available from Amazon, is Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister. It really has aged very well well. The best show about politics ever. Eschew the remake. It isn't very funny.
Acknowledged.

*snip*
Falling Skies is brilliant television, although I've not yet caught up with the more recent series. A war story about a Resistance fighting off the invasion with limited resources and a huge technological disadvantage, what's not to like?
(Which is something the remake of V should have gone for, instead of us waiting over 2 series for the V's to actually get around to invading, instead of just talking about it... eventually).

The recent series in 2013 was actually a revival of the orignal show, with David Haig taking over from the late Paul Eddington as Jim Hacker. Still, the fact we're not in the 80's anymore (which was great for any political satire, just look at Spitting Image) means that the revival lost something of the humour of the original.

Yep, this a hundred times. Game of Thrones fans looking for a similar show with a new setting will be very pleased with the results. Think it had 2 seasons? There's plenty of political intrigue(Caesar, duhRome: Awesome show, cancelled before its time.

The horrid, face-palming plot and character stupidity? I'm a fan, I don't miss an ep. but...it definitely could do with much better writing. This season was much better, until the final few eps.

True, but that's sadly common in most shows...
It's a shame we no longer have Television Without Pity to rip apart all these idiot plots on television.

I was pretty mad when I heard Julius Caesar is raped in Rome. Is it happened in the series? If so, I'm gonna burn down their moronic studio. JK

Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies were already mentioned, but I thought I would toss them out again, along with Dead Like Me.

Has HBO always been 'nude scene in every episode' kind of TV channel?

Well..... Stargate SG1?
Edit- Wait.... I think that was Showtime actually. HBO off the hook. But I'm sure everyone understands how weird it is to think back to that show having nudity.

There are going to be no more seasons, but a follow up sequel film is in production.
Funny thing about Idris Elba, despite being British, he was relatively unknown in the UK until LUTHER, whereas he had gained more fame in the US years ago by playing Stringer Bell in The Wire. Fine actor though.
