ME3 Mp had a wide array of issues that hopefully won't appear in DA:I

What I'd like to know is this:

1-will there be text chat?
2-will there be options to mute individual players?
3-will there be a ping/latency check inside lobbies before the game starts?
4- will there be an option to only be matched up with hosts within your continent ?
5- will there be a vote kick option to kick players during the game?
6- will there be the ability to view a list of available open lobbies/games, and select from those? (with ping measured on all of them)
7- Lastly, will there be savepoints ( uploads to main server with character progress) within the game so that if you disconnect late in the game, you still will get the rewards you've earned upto that point?

These things were asked for over and over again for ME3MP but we realize that BW might not have been able to implement them til the next big game, so now that they do have the ability, will they do it?

i hope they have a mute for individual players. as for the kicking people out during the game, the game does a good job of kicking out people who are idle for a certain amount of time. and i hope there will be savepoints.

#1 issue for me would have been ALLOW COVER-SLIDE CANCELING LIKE IN F***ING GEARS OF WAR

but I feel like that wouldn't really apply to Dragon Age.

While I've never had much reason to kick anyone from an ME3 MP game, I believe the host should be able to kick whomever they want. I was never really fond of the voting system.

Also not in favor of in-game kicking even though I've run into my share of jerks. It would just be used to troll people.

Bullshit, hundreds of MP games use in-game kick and they're doing just fine. You can find this fear of trolls only on bsn. Diablo 3 is a dungeon crawler and it's in-game kick somehow doesn't stop millions of people from playing despite dreaded trolls.

BW attempted to "fix" it about 5 or 6 times, fail each time, a simple kick mechanic would have been a real fix

i'm fine with it being the hosts decision to kick since its really his/her game, just want a way to get the kicks in

the counter argument is that by not allowing kicks you invite people to troll you in game, most games have an ingame kick feature because in the long run its always better to NOt be forced to play with people you don't like (or who don't like you)

I think almost all MP games have an option where a host of server/lobby can kick anybody. It makes people a lot more disciplined, a majority vote for in-game kicking like in D3 also helps to filter trolls/kick trolls.

I played 4137 games of ME3 MPer. There were only a 3 or 4 times I felt it would have been justified to kick some one during the match. And since they added the idle kick I only recall a couple and I doubt a kick vote would have helped since there were others in the lobby who were doing the same thing. No one is forcing you to stay and play with them, you can simply leave. There should be an enhanced ignore feature, ie ignore player completely, ignore player when host etc so you never have to play with certain people again.

Some sort of latency check/control in matchmaking would be highly desired and almost essential for peer-to-peer play. The lack was the biggest weakness for ME3 MPer.

anecdotal evidence is never sufficient to prove an argument , for myself and most of the me3mp players here on BSN their have been hundreds of times that we needed to kick people (for various reasons)

so in short, just because you got lucky with your PUGs doesn't mean we don't need a kick system

I'm not a fan of the in-game kick system unless it has numerous ways to guard against trolling.

Even a majority needed kick can be abused by simply having a pre-made group that makes up 3 of the 4 people in the lobby.

If they're going to include it, it needs more protection than just that.

Lessons learned from ME 3 MP:

1) First you learn to use cover, then you learn where to stand so you have cover without being in it.
2) The first 100 hours are a learning experience. Don't bother wondering how good a player you are until you finish them.
3) Run to revive your teammate, even if they died across the map and a phantom is tea bagging their corpse.
4) When people tell you to just suicide, ignore them.

Number Four Especially:

"I like this human, they understand!"

The funniest time I ever had on that game.  I was playing with randoms on gold.  I was the vorcha so of course I was flaming away.  These guys sucks sooooo bad.  And I understood one of the was low level he had like an avenger 2 on a starting class he didn't have any business in there so I was trying to help him/them out. I revied and revived and revived...i mean I had the 15 revive metal by wave 5 or 6.  It was getting pretty old though and I just started killing everything.  I had my mic on mute, but one of them was raging.

"This is SOOOOOO BORING"

"JUST DIE"

"WHY ARE YOU SUCH AN *******"

"YOU SUCK AT THIS GAME"

"Thats it im leaving!"

then he goes ok....seriously.....please die......so I just stand there and die as my character was just about to bleed out.....gel.  He loses it.

I was in tears.  I'm laughing my ass off as I'm typing this...I can still hear the dude.

That said I've been playing the game a lot these last few days...on a brand new account starting from scratch.  I love it.  I actualy have to try sometimes :P  I miss my lancer though!

usually we could find in any co-op multiplayer the next people:

Tanks: they take and soak the more quantity of damage from enemies... in mp trend to die first, but alone they can solo with ease

Scrappers: they do damage and trend to kill all the enemies

Healers: they are loved by everyone, they can't do anything alone but all parties welcome them

Mr Striker/debuffer: they serve as distraction so tanks could endure a bit more in MP

Newbies: usually new to the game, they will morph into one of the previous in some time

and then there is the unwelcome party

GRIEFFER: the moron who usually buffs enemies, let tanks die on purpose, harass the scrapper, tries to go solo and ends defeated by the mob... what makes him worse: he cries.

AFK/selfish healer: As Yaguiroube from DBZ he is the healer who is never in battle, tanks lie dead at his/her feet and he focus healing on Scrappers or even worse: himself.

NOOB: big mouthed airhead who is not willing to learn, not willing to play and very willing to complain about the party, what makes him worse? his favorite phrase is "go away n00b"

Mr Tourist: the guy who goes everywhere in the map, except where the entire party is, sometimes is not intentional, but when you call the turist 20 times and he is still in the other side of a map (dead or alive) something is really wrong with him.

Yamcha (or more "lore friendly", Hawke): the useless element that ends dead, unlike the tanks it does not require THAT much hits to kill him.

the voting system was developed to avoid grieffers to kick the good elements except one and let this poor victim suffer just because is fun... with the voting system we could get rid of the further and conserve the first ones so everyone gets his fun. But kick system goes bad when someone is kicked because "he lags", is not their fault and is probably server fault but they are blammed and dismissed because their "cheap DSL" connections

ask yourself this question, why would you want to play in a game with trolls, or just player who clearly don't want to play with you? and how is allowing trolling in game better than kick trolling? (its not)

1-if someone lagging thats not a good game for them, its doing them a favor to kick them so they can find a game where they don't lag
2-if you can afford  a modern gaming rig and a top end game you can afford cable internet, and even with dsl you should connect just fine to people inside your country
3- for the 100th time: why are you totally ok with people who troll and abuse the game and other players, but not ok with the occasional kick? again you should be HAPPY that they kicked you, because they are saving you from playing with a bunch of jerks

the argument that you demand to be able to force players who don't like you to play with you, is ridiculous. Play on a few games for several years with kick systems(like I have), you'll see that they are overwhelmingly better than games without them

This feature would ADD trolls to matches, just like Reactor hazard and the central room.  I'm not wasting 30 minutes of game time so some dumbos can kick me for no good reason.  I would also almost never use an in game kick in ME3, I just leave after a match if I don't like the team.
