Mask of the Betrayer Act I Spirit Army Fight - Okku not yielding

I've been stuck in the end of Act I where there is the fight against Okku and his spirit army. I waited until I received the prompt that Okku has weakened (after killing the spirits), which I then proceed to attack him. The problem is, I end up killing him and the scene where he yields never triggers - leaving me with his dying body and an endless wave of enemies.

 

I've tried removing all mods from the override folder, reinstalling the game, but the same thing always happens. Is there a way of fixing this or manually triggering the scene?

where is your save at?

 

 

it looks a bit complicated in the Toolset, and might need a custom script

The most recent one i have is in mulsantir before heading out the gate to face the army for the first time.

ok good. When you amble out of the city, it looks like Okku starts a dialog: "So, you are brave, after all. Wood and stone ..."

The conversation ( 'b01_spirit_battle' ) should end with Okku, saying "I follow their will in this. All the land is united against you. We will drag your corpse to the cavern of runes, and there you will stay!"

Does that happen? ( because on the dialog-node right after that, that can't be seen IG, a script runs that sets Okku immortal, and defines what happens when you lower his HP to 1, and also sets him as well as the spirit-group to attack ) this *has* to happen ...

- right now I'm thinking this is the script that needs to be customized ( 'b01_a_spirit_attk' )



ps. another question, is Gann in the party (i don't think it really matters for this..)

Gann is in the party - as we exited the gate he stops the party to give advice "Let us pause a moment.."

 

The conversation with Okku does occur as you said, ending with "I follow their will in this..." before they attack. At that time, Okku is invulnerable and protected by an aura until a prompt 'Okku is weakened. Finish him' appears.

 

I tried manually setting Okku to be immortal after they turn hostile, but nothing happens after he reaches 1hp.

great. ok Here's the idea

get the fight going, SET OKKU IMMORTAL yourself, and while you're pounding on him at 1 hp

Pause the game, control your main character, and run this script (contains .NSS/.NCS files, chuck them in Override before starting NwN2)

rs motb_spiritbattle_fix


hopefully it goes well, but also check chat because i put in a message to test validity of 'okku' object ...

I did as you said and it worked! The cutscene started after the script was run, and everything looks to be working fine so far.

Thanks for your help and prompt reply, it saved me a bit of time and frustration figuring out what was wrong.

Ps. note, i accidentally marked the PC as "DONE" in that script.

shouldn't be an issue because, well, checking if the PC is ever 'done' is just silly


thought i should mention it tho.
