Hehe, I got to use that line on this fat girl at work who has been hitting on me once she musters up the courage to ask me out.

Nice to know you can spare feelings easily. <_<
I realize the temptation of quoting epic things from Mass Effect is difficult (I do it all the time!) , though do you really think that's the best way to deny someone? Even saying you've already got a girlfriend would of been a better way.

Ehh, not to get too off topic but I don't like fat people and their problems.

I volunteered for the Peace Corps in my late teens and I saw people who were so hungry that they ate dirt just to fill their bellies.  Not to mention not even having access to clean water.

That is true suffering.  It irritates me when fat people tell me we should feel sorry for them.  When so many millions die of starvation every year, nobody has an excuse to kill themselves through overconsumption.

So, you're one of the few people who are afraid of food with some taste. I feel sorry for you. But the rest of humanity including me do want to enjoy our food. Your education doesn't mean crap for people's opinions and tastes.

I am studying International Law, I disagree with the death penalty for example, but that is my personal opinion. My education doesn't make my opinion about it someone else's opinion too.

You think I don't enjoy my food?  I love my food.  Difference between us is that the food I like is healthy while the food you like is crap.

Incorrect. The difference is that I'm not a stuck-up health freak.

Hehe, you're so funny!  I bet you follow the Taco Bell drive thru diet!

I bet you needed several diets in your lifetime. Not to mention, I also bet you only drink water.

P.S.: In the Netherlands we don't have Taco Bell. And Mcdonalds / Burger King / KFC don't know how to make good fries / burgers.

"Hello, dead people" is my new instant fave. I'm not going to say who says it or when, for those who haven't read about it yet.

I think there might be actual Ramen outside the US that isn't 10c a packet and actually has some nutritional value.

Correct. But that health freak is so stuck up he fails to realize simple facts like that. Only the things that he eats are healthy.

EDIT: Which makes you wonder if he has ever done any reading about other cultures, like the Japanese. But he probably never reads, and his education wasn't good enough to teach about different cultural kitchens.

Nah, I don't believe in dieting assuming you're referring to calorie cutting.  I think weight loss and maintenence is about boosting metabolism through diet and lifestyle.  The diet I follow is specified for my metabolic type and as such I feel great eating the foods that nature intended me to eat.
You're almost right about what I drink.  Almost exclusively water with the occasional Stevia sweetned soda, and a glass of red wine once or twice a week.

See, you're just the average, uninformed health freak.

EDIT: You're not one of those pro-anorexia idiots, right?

Lol, a little touchy are we?  A bit insecure about your lifestyle maybe that you need to lash out against people who have the willpower to make choices which are best for their mind and bodies?

Fine, for the sake of closure we'll just assume they were talking about healthy ramen noodles.

Is that an excuse to insult someone? How would you enjoy it if you summoned enough courage to ask someone to go out with you and get a response like that? I'm sure you're a human Adonis in real life and frowns upon all those who dare eat food that has a high calorie intake, and would feel indifferent for such a caustic response that for much of the general populace, could scare many people away from summoning the courage to ask someone else out; though for the rest of us, that would hurt. A lot.
Insulting people for being courageous and asking someone out isn't something to brag about.

Ummm, no I do not advocate anorexia.  Didn't you read the part where I said I think calorie cutting is stupid?

As for the Japanese, their health is linked to their consumption of deep sea vegetables which have many cancer fighting phytonutrients, as well as lots of omega 3 fatty acids which are essential for good heart health.  Not because of Ramen.

Oh, I'm sorry I'm not smart enough to agree with you then.  Really, why does it bother you so much that I called Ramen unhealthy?   Do you feel sorry for the poor noodles since they don't have a voice to speak for themselves?

There is a difference between courage and foolishness.  Fat women are disgusting and if they don't realize this they are fools.  If they did realize it they wouldn't ask me out since they know they would be wasting their time.

This is almost as good as watching a movie

*munches on popcorn*

Now where were we....Oh yes, Ramen where I live is nothing like those disgusting packets you other people eat. Ours is actually very similar to a soup with everything in it: mushrooms, pork, vegetables, noodles, the works. Ramen is not the healthiest food to eat, yet it is much better than most american food.

Also as regards to weight issues, each person has a different matabolism. People like me have slow metabolisms meaning we need to watch what we eat. Compare that to my brother, who could eat 4 cheeseburgers from McDonald's every lunch and fried chicken every dinner and not gain any weight. Your choice of food that you eat has nothing to do with what you look like and your physical fitness. A person who is overweight sometimes cannot help it, they could eat very healthily and still be fat. It's all based on your metabolism.

Ramen is a food that is processed, and packaged to have a long shelf life. There is no way you can do that without including a lot of unhealthy, unnatural additives.
So unless you make your own "fresh ramen" with whole wheat noodles and fresh ingredients, there is no way you can have healthy ramen.

The key to eating healthy is to never eat something that is in a wrapper.

It bothers me that you're one of those stuck up health freaks who thinks he's right. You call good food crap, while you haven't enough facts to make a judgement about it, and don't look at taste, but only at what it's made of. You don't love food, you just hate fat people, and are scared to death of becoming one yourself.

Haven't posted facts?  Didn't I mention the hydrogenated fats, excessive salt, and MSG?
Taste is important but you're making out a fallacy as if one has to choose between taste or health.  There are plenty of healthy foods that taste great.  I should know, I eat them every day.  Ramen is for ghetto people.

@ Borschbeet:At first I thought you were kind of funny, now I just think I'll distance myself very rapidly from you.

@Cascadus: Yes, a diplomatic response is always preferred over a sneer like the ME quote I offered... until 'hitting on' becomes 'harassment'.

PS. 'hitting on' does not become 'harassment' the moment someone's physical appearance isn't to your liking.

Leaving this thread behind. Shame, it started with funny-potential.

Hey, had that other guy not thrown a hissyfit over me insulting his precious ramen noodles it would've never come to this in the first place.
Stay on topic if you don't want these threads to devolve into flame wars.

Jesus christ. You're too pathetic for words. There is no talking sense into you.

Go see a psychologist. Asap. People like you are prone to developing anorexia.

EDIT: I'm outta here. Can't be bothered to speak to someone like you anymore.

What's wrong with eating healthy and exercising? Am I missing something here or is everyone just angry with the way Borschtbeet is handling his side of the argument?

LOL at this anorexia obsession.  I consume 3600 calories a day at least and maintain a perfectly healthy body weight.

As I said, it's about metabolic boosting, not cutting calories.
Anorexia is about the most devastating thing you can do for your health.

It's obvious they're just angry because deep down they know their lifestyle isn't right, but they lack the willpower and motivation to change it.
They're fighting with me as a way to convince themselves that what they do is really perfectly ok.

haha whats with the ramen hate? Whenever I go to New York I make sure to get me a big ole bowl of it.
