Ok Lady Nuggins I apologize for repeating myself, but can you 100 % guarentee me, that I will be able to play this game without being online at all? Or are you just guessing?

We don't know.

Unless a BioWare rep specifically says this is possible, I assume you will have to connect at some point.

I do have the link to Derek French's reply here - http://forum.bioware...0#entry16512751

But bear in mind, he's talking about the PC version in that reply. That does requires a one time online activation. My assumption would be that all versions of the game would need that one time online activation but given I don't actually own a console of any description, I don't know what the standard is for console games. Hopefully one of the devs will see this and be able to give you a definitive answer or you could try tweeting them? They're pretty responsive on twitter as long as you're polite.

I thought the standard for console games is that you don't need to activate a game through Origin at all? Origin is pretty much a PC service. It is a way for EA to make sure your copy of the game is legit because of how much easier it is to hack anything on the PC as opposed to consoles. The consoles already have better protection against hacked games and so this extra security Origin supplies isn't needed.

Well any game released so far on PS4 as far as I know, you could start the game right away without being online or activating it. I just hope it is the same with this game!

Might I suggest you ask this question in the Scuttlebutt forum? Derek lurks there and is the man who's most likely to answer this.

DRM is here to stay. MS got the blame, but Sony is doing in it with some of its games.

It is the same with this game. The only time you have to connect to the internet is if you want to connect to your EA account or activate a world state from the Keep. The console versions do not otherwise require an internet connection, unlike the PC version which requires you to register your game to an Origin account.

In the case of the console versions, it's your PSN or XBL account that's connected to your EA account, not the specific game, and even then, connection is optional.

does any other game on the ps4 require this?

Destiny, but that's the nature of that specific game.

ManOfSteel do you know this for a fact? I mean are you an insider or something at Bioware? Just asking

I'm a damn good reporter.

But no, I'm not. But it's obviously the case. There's absolutely no reason for it to require an internet connection. Sony does not mandate it, and neither does EA. If Battlefield 4, a game with greater online connectivity, doesn't require you to connect to the internet to play the singleplayer, then Dragon Age: Inquisition will not. Unless EA have decided that Dragon Age is to be the sole singleplayer game to require it. Which they haven't.

Connection to the internet will benefit you as you can you will be able to play multiplayer, download updates, connect to your EA account and be able to make use of the general benefits that having your console connected to the internet brings you.

The PC version is the only version that will require an online connection. That's because modern PC games often require you to register your game to an account. Console games don't require this, and therefore don't require you to connect. That's how console games work, and even in 2014 where everything is more connected than ever before, that remains the case. The Xbox One and it's one-time online connection during set up being the outlying case.
