ManOfSteel do you know this for a fact? I mean are you an insider or something at Bioware? Just asking
I'm a damn good reporter.
But no, I'm not. But it's obviously the case. There's absolutely
no reason for it to require an internet connection. Sony does not mandate it, and neither does EA. If Battlefield 4, a game with greater online connectivity, doesn't require you to connect to the internet to play the singleplayer, then Dragon Age: Inquisition will not. Unless EA have decided that Dragon Age is to be the sole singleplayer game to require it. Which they haven't.
Connection to the internet will benefit you as you can you will be able to play multiplayer, download updates, connect to your EA account and be able to make use of the general benefits that having your console connected to the internet brings you.
The PC version is the only version that will require an online connection. That's because modern PC games often require you to register your game to an account. Console games don't require this, and therefore don't require you to connect. That's how console games work, and even in 2014 where everything is more connected than ever before, that remains the case. The Xbox One and it's one-time online connection during set up being the outlying case.
