YES. BAD GUYS ALWAYS HAVE THE COOLEST MAGIC!!!! THE GOOD GUYS CAN'T DO CRAP HALF THE TIME (except Gandalf).

"[...] Tevinter mages have delved far deeper into magic's potential than the mages in the rest of Thedas. Spells developed in the northern nation exceed what mages elsewhere could ever dream of casting."

Only about three characters in that entire universe are a worth damn.

Harry and Michael Carpenter for new Templar/Mage treaty!

Where is that quoted from? Not doubting Tevinter magical supremacy, just curious.

Vivat Draconis!

I kind of disliked David Gaider backpedaling on that.

"The Tevinter have had thousands of years to perfect their secrets but don't share them but the Circles of Magic do."

And I was like,

"Doesn't Tevinter have Circles too?"

Doesn't seem to stop them from dying horribly.

Vivat Draconis!

Agreed, they sure as hell aren't stunted by the dumb Chantry.

They just get to be stunted by stupid evil instead.

Second: My lord have you ever considered that we might get more done without being hilariously over the top evil?

Magister: What?! No! Now get those elven slaves! I need their blood to power my hot tub!!!!

To attend a Circle in Tevinter is a privilege, not an obligation.

Their Magisters do seem quite stupid.

It's funnier if you see the Second as Dorian.

Poor-poor Lightside Sith Inquisitor.

I mean Tevinter had such great potential to be an interesting but still malicious presence!

Instead it serves as a STUNNING example of why the Templars are right.

That was sort of Dragon Age 2 in a nutshell, wasn't it?

Death Eaters vs. the Friends of Humanity.

I lol'ed.

How does one go about being a malicious magocracy without proving the Templars right?

Reminds me of the whole "Caesar's Legion" from the lore and then the faction we are presented with in game.

It's disappointing, i mean you still should side with them but they should be less cartoonishly evil.

I wonder if Dorian is going to point out there's more to Tevinter than slavery, Blood Magic, and cackling Sith Lordery.

The Legion insults Rome's memory.

There are no curses in elvish, entish, or the tongues of men for this treachery!

Caesar's Legion is blatantly Spartans.

I could never side with such false advertising!

They really, really aren't.

No it doesn't.

The whole slave-holding society of superstitious warriors with nothing in-between seems pretty Spartan to me.

Admittedly, they also add a heaping dose of misogyny.

Because the actual Spartans weren't bad enough.

Vivat Draconis!

And all that is meaningless before a Templar.

Okay this marks the point where we truly do disagree.

"Caesar" took all the wrong lessons from Rome and it shines through.
