I saw an actual humanoid with green light on his skin in one of the trailers and guessed it was the final boss. Thinking more clearly I'm pretty sure he's the boss at Redcliffe who taught Dorian. (Also, the thing you'd thought I mistook for the Final Boss just doesn't look like a Final Boss to me.)

Ah, gotcha!

Understood.

*Sigh* Bioware does middling to epic when it comes to final bosses.

I have a lot of hope for this DAI, i hope its a lot more intense and dramatic then either DAO or DA2.

Those just didn't impose any sense of finality, or struggle, it was just another battle by that point.

I mean this is supposed to be the finale, the main antagonist and protagonist finally meeting in battle, whatever brought them to this point, greed, ideology, some abstract social notion of justice whatever. They meet and clash and it is supposed to INFLICT that upon the viewer: Darth Malak? Master Li? They both accomplished this in spades.

Bioware can do it, they have done it before so i am willing to give them a bit of hope on the situation.

Spoiler

They might just need some notes from Kouta Hirano :P

Damn. Revan vs Malak was epic. So was Master Li and the warm up spirit battle between Sun Kin and Death's Hand.

Yeah Master Li and Malak as i stated were probably the best Antagonists Bioware ever put together, you just don't see villains of their caliber every day.

Meh, I didn't find Malak to be that interesting of a character. Kreia was much better. :)

I agree, but that was Obsidian. The ending of KotOR 2 felt rushed and lackluster though. A lot was cut out.

Blind Seer trope. It works for Flemeth. Except for the blind part.

Oh, I know. I just found Kreia a lot more intriguing than Malak, that's all.

They released a quarter of a game as a full product and they got called out on it.

It wasn't Malak. It was the build up. I still think Kreia was better though.

She manipulates, you everyone in your party. There's even cut content where she turns the potential love interests against each other, and does so in a way that you know she's manipulating you and the others around you, but you still need her.

And her ultimate aim is far more devastating than Malak could ever hope to achieve. The death of the Force. Thing is, all living things are connected to the Force, so what she did, in an attempt to destroy everything in the Force she hates, she would have inadvertently destroyed all living things, plants, animals, people, everything, all the while thinking she was doing the universe a favor.

That's the impression I got.

I assume it's because she tries to subvert your expectations in a Star Wars game supposedly deconstructs the entire premise of the Jedi by saying the good guys are actually the bad guys (even though she's wrong and crazy).

I don't remember if i posted this here already but my thoughts on the Mage vs Templar thing:

Usually i am all for there being choices and consequences, with no "easy way out" cards. However, i would really like a geth-quarian style choice when dealing with Mages and Templars. What i mean is, i hope there is a way to end it peacefully (though with very hard to achieve requirements that possibly determine the warden and Hawke's actions from the other games) that see's both groups reach an agreement that satisfies both and have both groups team up against the Inquisition's enemies.

That is probably unlikely so my choice of picking one will vary each game. My first Inquisitor will most likely pick the Templars.

On a side note, I'm surprised it's never been addressed in-game the irony that "Oppressed Mages" often champion Tevinter as their ideal society even though Tevinter is one of the few nations with legalized slavery.

I wouldn't say "champion" it, but they surely prefer that society to their own. And these mages cannot help other oppressed people so its not right calling them selfish. You honestly think elves will accept help from a Shemlen mage? Shemlen mages did that to their people. You honestly think Fenris would accept Anders' help? Slaves hate mages in general because they are in that condition because of mages. The analogy is quite simple, everyone are out for themselves, you never see feminists helping other similar organizations such as LGBT.

Also you read novels or what? Slavery is quite rampant in Orlais's nobility and people with power. Orlais just hides things and in background its a none-mage version of Tevinter. Just like Magisters the people with power do everything they can to get more power, they simply put a smile and nice attitude in public because that's how Orlais works.

I like DrBlingzle's idea, but I'd like to retire all current active Templars and replace them with clones of Evangeline...

On a serious note though, I would like the order to consist of only those Templars like Evangeline, compassion and empathy HAVE to be qualifications.
