Doesn't matter. You don't have to study with the Dalish or the Circles to become a full mage. Flemeth is a full mage, Morrigan is a full mage, and Solas is a full mage.

Full apostate hedge witches maybe.

Mages are good things, they live in circles and act as artillery.

Apostates die on templar blades.

Who pointedly stated her training was nothing like the circle :P

And yet it produced similar results, this was likely done for gameplay reasons mind you but, its still interesting.

Well, I guess technically there's no reason for Morrigan to be able to learn the same specific spells as a Circle mage, but that's different from a hedge mage learning fire or lightning spells rather than having a basic "energy blast" ability instead.  At least, that's how I imagine it...

I doubt it... if they are willing to go that far they may as well not even come up with a concept like "hedge mages."  I don't approve of that kind of sloppiness, especially when a unique set of "hedge mage" spell trees would have been so much fun to play around with.

oh that a joke so its possible to give him x amount of spell that give him a hedge mage skillset

Morrigan never taught my Mage how to shapechange.

Even when I killed her mother and romanced her.

*sniff*

I wanted to be a Mabari!

No, funnier because it shows the Templars demolishing the mages in the Gallows. That was just sad.

Ah! Well i need to put on my special shirt then.

Mhmmm, and how well did that work on Morrigan and Flemeth?

Solas is bald and by default evil.

He is not to be trusted.

Plus he is an elf!

And a Mage!

He's like all of Thedas's problems rolled up into one!

Well Solas is apparently going to be the one who is going to teach the Inquisitor how to control their new power if the trailer is to be believed.

So you are probably going to owe him one.

Good point.  Uh... yeah, how about if we not follow that route.  :)

That's the true conundrum, isn't it? No one wants to be left in the dust when developments like this are created.

As long as the Qunari have the technology, the various powers of Thedas (like Gaspard) will always want it for themselves... but it's not like they can predict all the possible consequences.

Don't make tell you what happened with Rolan and other Templars. Hey you trained for over ten years to counter my kind? No problem, now all of you gather around me because all of you gonna die to single spell. BOOM!. Anders practically lets you kill him so you can never preach how weak he was, after all Rolan's blade not even tickle him. And yes its canon, it already mentioned in all articles talking about this topic. Anders killed a whole squad of Templars along with Rolan. Numbers, Lyrium, Silverite (one of strongest metals in Thedas) and years of training meant nothing against sheer power of magic.

its canon, its mentioned in a comic too. Also the articles about Mage Templar war that mention Anders also mention how he became possessed and killed templars and then moved to Kirkwall. IT IS CANON. deal with it.

My Hawke knows any mage rebellion against the Templars is doomed.

Templars are too powerful to fight with magic.

That's why he has friends with bows and swords!

Maybe we can hire Tal-Vashoth to kill them too!

You mean the ABOMINATION did that. Which is nothing new. We already know that Abominations can take down entire squads of Templars. That is what make them so dangerous.

Gaider said years ago the comic in question wasn't canon.

He even mentions it in this brief interview on this very subject.

http://www.reddit.co...tus_of_ogb_and/

Which can be found in the blog question but assuming you don't want to read?

Here http://dgaider.tumbl...uch-pull-a-lead

So i don't care what the comics has say, what an article said or anything to that effect.

The daddy of DA lore said it never happened.

It never happened.

Mentioned in a comic =/= canon

basically if it could be influenced by the game its not pure canon

"Abomination" is over simplification here. Tell me one thing inhuman about Anders other than the powers. What, other people don't defend themselves when tormented by chantry for their whole life? When they send spies to grey warden ranks to torment them further? Anders didn't go MUHAHA you die, he was cornered and naturally he defended himself. He is as human as the next man. He helps people, he kills people, he falls in love etch... he does all that because he is a person not some mindless ugly thing who is driven by malice.

To quote Wynne, Anders isn't an abomination.

He becomes an Abomination when Justice becomes Vengeance.

Which I think happens only around Act III.

I think the decade of isolation in Ander's subconscious drove Justice cookoo.
